Infernal Apocalypse [ LitRPG , Non-Human Lead, Lots and lots of Fire ]

212. New Moon (Book Three)

I was now on Elder Zal's ship in the training room. It's been a while since I've been here.

"How long do you plan on training for Patriarch Raizen?"

As always she is straight to the point.

Anyway, I thought about her question for a moment, and decided to shift my plans a bit. If I was going to do it, I might as well did it all the way.

"The entire 10 years that you remain here. Though I will need to break around 3-5 years from now to assist in the completion of my spear."

"I see and that will not be problem."

"Okay good, though it's a shame I won't get a chance to try it out on the ants."

"You do not need to worry about that. The ants are stronger than you think, they will still be there at the end of your training."

That made me worry slightly about the members of my Clan, but at the same time it also made me even more excited. For one the members of my Clan, particularly the Black Dawn, will be able to fight to their hearts content.

I'm sure there aren't many things Infernals love more than a strong foe and a good battle. Of course I was even more excited about the fact that I wouldn't be missing out on any of it.

Though that makes me wonder just how strong the ants were. For Elder Zal to be able to guarantee that they would be alive in 10 years' time after fighting against 1000 Infernals. Most of which were in the Core Formation.

Ah I want to go fight them right now.

"Well that's good to know. So what's training going to be this time."

She didn't immediately reply to me and instead I think saw the faintest of smirks.

That can't be a good thing.

"We will focus on control."

I suppose I shouldn't have expected nothing less. She has always preached control and true to her word this time would be no different.

"Have a seat Patriarch Raizen, we will reach our destination shortly."

I raised an eyebrow at that but followed instructions, nonetheless. She vanished after that and very shortly after, I think I heard the ship whir to life for the time since I've ever stepped foot on it.

Of course, it was never 'off' per se, but this is the first time I've actually heard the engines or whatever is powering the ship stir to life.

So we are leaving Earth huh.

Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

Interesting.

I'm not sure how much time has passed exactly, but it couldn't have been all that much between when the engines powered on, and now when they've been powered off.

Elder Zal then reappeared in the training room.

"We have arrived. Come with me."

I didn't really get to respond before I found myself outside of the ship and in a place unlike anything I've experienced before.

Well I suppose that's not true…the day I left the Tutorial, I was brough to the same place I think.

Only it was far darker here…

I was one again in space, and after taking quick look around me, I couldn't see any stars, and I definitely couldn't see Earth. No matter how far I searched or spread my senses…or tried to spread my senses, Earth was nowhere in sight.

There was only thing in front of me.

A giant brown planet…or perhaps moon. I don't think the place I'm looking at has an atmosphere. Everywhere I look it is just brown. No clouds, no storms, no greenery, no anything.

"This is a Lost Moon. It doesn't move. It simply exists here, in a point of space where there is no life.

"It will be the location of your training."

She then brought me down to this lost moon. Yep it was as barren here as it looked like from space. There literally wasn't a single thing to see for miles, apart from the space around me that felt closer than any night sky I was used to, and well the moon.

That was it.

"The gravity of this moon is far stronger than that of what you are used to, and it is also a dead zone for Qi. It is still present, but very faint. Of course there is also no oxygen for you to breath.

"It will be up to you, make do with Qi in the area, to assist you with breathing. It will also be up to you to resist the gravity.

"Put these on."

She revealed a familiar set of Grivs to me.

What have I got myself in to.

"Control your Qi and be able to move the next time I see you. I will return in a year."

After saying that she literally vanished, and so too did her protection over me, and just like the olden days of training under Jrino in the Tutorial my body immediately slammed into the ground.

Shit.

This…this is different.

It appears it's been a long time since I've had to live without always having a body filled with Qi.

The second that connection that never went away vanished, it felt like I instantly grew weaker. I didn't think that was actually the case, but my Qi was no longer being passively supplemented by the ambient Qi in the air.

My body was still flooded with it, as my meridian and the core itself contained a massive amount of it, but…at this rate, I would run dry just making sure I have enough Qi to maintain my breathing.

Control huh.

Fine then.

I immediately gave up on trying to get up from the ground and simply focused on the Qi circulating within my body. If I tried getting up now, I would simply exert far more energy and Qi than I probably wanted to do as this point so we'll get to that later.

Closing my eyes to focus since there was nothing to look at anyway, I did my best to slow the passive circulation of Qi in my body to a standstill. In this case…the Grivs were actually helping, since they were already suppressing my Qi and even my flames a good margin.

Even with the additional suppression from the Grivs, this was turning out to be harder than I thought.

It probably took me more than just a few hours to finally begin to actively control the flow of my Qi to be as limited as possible. Moving my Qi around wasn't the problem, nor was it the quantity of it that was moved.

The problem was the passive circulation of Qi that seemed to happen without my explicit say. It was the circulation driven by my cultivation itself. This was something that was normally a benefit, as someone in Core Formation will have more passive Qi to move around that someone in the Qi Refinement.

But it was that passive moment that was causing me a problem right now, since I quite literally had to tell my body to stop something it naturally and biologically wanted to do.

It was like telling your stomach to stop processing the food that you swallowed.

Not something that would be easy…especially not while my body is actively using this Qi to prevent me from being exposed to air I can't breath in.

It seems I got my work cut out for me.
