The Immortal Seeker: Legend of Bronze Mirror

Chapter 306: The Descent of the Black Lotus Xu Qing’s Ordeal

Suddenly, the tranquil underground seemed to be stirred by a mysterious and powerful force, and the Netherworld Spring began to boil uncontrollably.

Scalding bubbles rose continuously from the spring's bottom, popping with a "gurgling" sound, as the rolling hot steam spread, carrying a pungent sulfur smell, making the surrounding air hot and sticky.

On the inky black, tumultuous water surface, a Third Rank Black Lotus slowly blossomed.

Every petal of this Black Lotus was enormous, densely covered with reversed Brahma script of the Diamond Sutra.

The Brahma script flickered with an eerie glow, as if proclaiming distorted Buddhist principles, blending with the surrounding darkness, yet exuding a chilling sinister aura.

The old demon of Black Mountain walked barefoot, his expression stern, stepping slowly onto the lotus step by step.

His three thousand strands of silver hair cascaded like waterfalls, each strand shimmering with a cold light, as if formed from ice and snow.

With his movements, the withered Mandala Flowers seemed to be injected with an eerie vitality, instantly undergoing rebirth.

However, the reborn Mandala Flowers were no longer in their vibrant form but transformed into ominous Skull Buddha Lamps.

These Buddha Lamps emitted ghostly green flames, flickering and swaying in the night wind, illuminating the old demon of Black Mountain's cold visage and the world shrouded in darkness behind him.

In the night sky, the once calm Ying Huo Star seemed to be summoned by some powerful force, suddenly becoming exceptionally bright.

The blinding red light, like blood, poured onto the earth, casting an ominous hue over everything in the world.

The old demon of Black Mountain looked up at the Ying Huo Star, slowly raising his hand, as if he intended to grasp the entire sky. With his motion, a phantom of a crumbling ancient temple slowly emerged in his palm.

The damaged "Great Leiyin Temple" plaque hung askew on the lintel, teetering, as if it would fall at any moment.

Inside the temple, the golden bodies of five hundred Arhats had long lost their former solemnity, covered in mottled green rust, appearing dilapidated.

And in their foreheads, Reverse Swastika Nails forged from Yinghuo Meteorite Iron were embedded, emitting an icy cold light, symbolizing the End of Dharma.

"This item was meant to perish with the rebirth and extinction of the Daoist Shakyamuni..." the old demon of Black Mountain spoke coldly.

His fingertips gently tapped the void, each tap resembling the sound of the bell of the apocalypse tolling.

With his actions, a Third Rank Black Lotus suddenly rose within the temple. The petals of this Black Lotus were cast from Yinghuo Xuantie, incredibly hard, with each petal engraved with a modified Prajnaparamita Sutra: "Form is emptiness, emptiness is evil."

The twisted scriptures, under the blood-red light of the Ying Huo Star, appeared even more bizarre.

The Black Lotus, as if finding its home, quickly plunged into the chest of the Living Buddha.

At that moment, the Nine Heavens' astral river seemed to lose control, suddenly pouring down. The brilliance of countless stars intertwined, forming a dazzling light waterfall, surging toward the Living Buddha.

The blood-red light cast by the Ying Huo Star, like sharp blades, illuminated the lotus petals, reflecting three terrifying Purgatory scenes.

On the First Grade Lotus, a gruesome scene of Asuras slaughtering celestial beings unfolded. The towering Asuras, with fanged mouths and claws, had eyes gleaming with a bloodthirsty light. They wielded various strange weapons, madly charging at the celestial beings, leaving no one unscathed. Buddha's Blood splattered, staining the surrounding sky red, and soaked into the lotus patterns, making the Brahma script on them seem to twist in agony.

On the Second Grade Lotus, a scene depicting a Jin Naluo strangling a bhikkhu with lute strings emerged. Jin Naluo wore a sinister smile, the lute strings in his hands like a deadly weapon, tightly constricting the bhikkhu's neck. The bhikkhu's eyes were filled with terror and despair, his hands struggling futilely against the lethal bind. The Devil's Sound resonated from the lute strings, like an invisible force, corroding the Brahma script, turning it blurry and indistinct.

The scene on the Third Rank Lotus was even more shocking, depicting the old demon of Black Mountain tearing apart the Buddha statue of the Great Leiyin Temple. The demon used all his might to rip the statue's body apart, its fragments falling away. In this violent rending, the Buddha's finger transformed into a Lotus Bud, emitting a faint glow, as if lamenting past glory and present sorrow.

The Living Buddha's Golden Body was instantly ignited by the surging starlight, flames blazing, enveloping him entirely. In this firelight, behind him slowly emerged the anomalous form of Three Heads and Six Arms.

The left head was an Angry Ming King, with a ferocious face, eyes wide open in rage, the weapons in his hands glinting with a cold light, as if ready to attack enemies at any moment; the right head was the Black Mountain Demon Form, exuding a sinister aura, like a demon from Hell, with a slight cold smile at the corner of his mouth, seemingly mocking everything in the world; and in the center, it was his own youthful Dharma Form, with a tender face, yet a hint of confusion and struggle in his eyes.

The Black Lotus, like a greedy monster, frantically devouring the Yinghuo Star Power, reintroducing the three poisons of "greed, hatred, and ignorance" severed by the Daoist Shakyamuni into his body.

"Master, do you recognize this prisoner in the lotus?" the old demon of Black Mountain's voice suddenly rang out.

He suddenly crushed the Lotus Platform, accompanied by a crisp shattering sound, and three Vajra Skeletons pierced by chains fell to the ground. These three skeletons were once the formidable guardians of the Great Leiyin Temple, now reduced to dilapidated remains.
