Normally speaking, these people wouldn't have much of a connection. The only thing they had in common was that they were particularly marginalized and weak.
Oh, and surprisingly, even a materials dealer was there as well.
Of course, Mosharili was among them as well. She sat alone on the grass nearby, looking isolated, even somewhat doubtful about whether she had come to the wrong place. After all, this morning Angel was still by himself...
Seeing Angel walk over with his shoulder bag, their faces lit up with smiles, and they all stood up one by one.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have doubted you. It wasn't until I saw that announcement that I truly believed you."
"Same here. Although the future you described was beautiful, I honestly didn't believe it at the time. Now I do."
"Angel, truthfully, I only came to see how many people would actually show up. But after seeing everyone here, I decided to stay."
Mosharili looked at them in shock, then at Angel.
Angel cast a blank stare at the group, laid down his shoulder bag, and sat cross-legged on the grass: "Everyone sit down. Let's start implementing our plan now. First and foremost, the most critical thing is strength, and behind strength lies manpower. I need you to give me a list of all the people you can mobilize. This is our shared battle, and every single participant will be rewarded in the end..."
Was there a fundamental shift in the situation?
No. But at least Angel had gained chips he could stake in the gamble. Even if these chips were cobbled together through cajoling and bluffing.
...
"Angel, on the lawn in the western district?" Upon hearing the news, Alvis, the Vein Council President, paused for a moment.
The Vein Council member who came to report stammered: "Yes. You asked me this afternoon to find him, so I went to look for him. I didn't find him, but someone just told me they saw him on the lawn in the west district. I went over to check... he really was there, and around him were all student leaders. I even recognized two of them."
"All student leaders? What do you mean?"
"I think he's executing his plan—to... become the New Vascular Council President."
"He's bypassing us... aiming to take the position of New Vascular Council President himself?"
"What else? Has he reported this to you?"
Alvis hesitated instantly.
...
"A hundred and eight people, including me and Mosharili, making just a hundred and ten. Only five with six-level Magic Power, twelve with five-level Magic Power, thirty-one with four-level Magic Power. The rest are all four and below... not a single seven-level Magic Power among them." Staring at the compiled list, Angel furrowed his brows tightly.
This fighting power was probably even weaker than the Old Vascular Council. To say nothing else, at least the Old Vascular Council had a single seven-level Magic Power mage and a total of two hundred members.
It wasn't that the Vein Council was full of underachievers while Angel's recruits were even worse—it was just that the Vein Council generally consisted of older students. Angel's recruits, on the other hand, were relatively younger.
The older and more experienced students wouldn't be in such disadvantaged positions, nor would they be so easily swayed.
Taking a deep breath, Angel said: "No problem, we can still win. I've read some books on war tactics before. Battle strength doesn't decide victory on its own. I'm confident we can achieve our goals even from a disadvantage! If we started with a superior edge, why would you need me, right?"
"We're with you!"
"We support you!"
"Let's do this!"
The student leaders were brimming with confidence one after another.
The demon whispered: "Have you really read books on war tactics? Why don't I know about that?"
"I'll read them tonight... gotta keep their morale high for now. It's fine if I'm not confident, but it's game over if they lose confidence." Angel muttered under his breath.
At the same time, there were similar meetings happening at other locations within the Magic Academy. Each was discussing varying methods but shared the same overarching goals. For a moment, thoughts and spit flew freely, with ambitions and ideals blending seamlessly.
That night, enticed by promises of great rewards, the entire academy seemed to be racking their brains to figure out how to restore the school's former tranquility... despite the fact that these very people were the ones who had caused the chaos.
A miniature version of a fragmented power struggle was slowly taking shape.
Throughout Human History, there has always been debate over whether heroes create their times, or the times create heroes. The Blood Elves' history was no different. Perhaps the truth lies in their mutual dependence.
It's hard to say.
We only know that many years later, when the Blood Elves rose to prominence through the magical mysteries of the Krimasha era, those who danced on the stage of history were still this very group. Perhaps it was a former Melody Magic Association President, or perhaps the head of some poetry society...
If there were one commonality among them, it was likely that they all had lived through this chaotic period at the Magic Academy. Perhaps they were partners of the Red Wraith, or maybe friends. Who knows?
"Success is the only option! Failure is not allowed! Whoever stands in our way—crush them!"
"Crush them!"
"Let's do it!"
"No one is allowed to retreat!"
United efforts and soaring fighting spirit!
In the end, the meeting wrapped up successfully. Although, truth be told, they hadn't discussed anything substantive all night—the only thing they had been given was Angel's motivational pep talk.
That said, when it came to motivational speeches, Angel excelled, and the demon was just as skilled.
...
By the time the faint light of dawn broke, Angel had already gone home to "pretend to sleep," and returned to school looking fresh and energized.
From afar, he saw the tired-looking President Alvis standing at the door of the administration building.
Then there was Gegil, the one Angel had previously pummeled.
And six others.
The first was Div, the muscular and towering Battle Mage Group Leader.
The second was England, the tall and skinny, dark-skinned Walking Herb Gathering Association President.
The third was Qili, the petite and delicate, perpetually smiling Silent Spellcasting Group Leader.
The fourth was Daniel, the short, thick-browed, sharp-eyed Law Society President.
The fifth was Kolby, the nondescript and forgettable-looking Divine Wood Protection Association President.
The sixth… was someone Angel hadn't expected—Aurora, the High Sect President.
Scanning the group, the demon whispered: "Who do you think will be the hardest to deal with among them?"
"Not sure," Angel whispered back. "Intuition tells me… probably the Battle Mage Group and High Sect. The High Sect doesn't have many members, only about thirty. But every one of them is an eight-level Magic Power mage. I'm not sure how they'd fare in a fight, but sheer magical power always poses a tougher challenge. The Battle Mage Group, however, is the real headache. They're the underachievers among underachievers, with their highest magic power only at five-level—none even at six-level. But they love dueling... I've heard that two of the same level can't beat one of them. They surpass their level regularly, which is just routine for them. Luckily, they don't have many members, only about fifty or so."
"What about the others? Have you memorized their intelligence yet?"
"Walking Herb Gathering Association President England—personally a weakling, but he has a huge number of people under him. Way too many. It's suspected he can mobilize about 800 people. Although there's no strict structure, as I keep saying, the key is numbers. The Silent Spellcasting Group—even more people, likely over a thousand. They seem cohesive, but they're not combative. The Law Society—also large, about 400 members, cohesiveness is very strong. Divine Wood Protection Association—around 600 members. Less cohesive. These four are all renowned as strong student organizations."
"And Gegil?"
"That guy's loaded, and aside from his money, there's nothing worth noting. That's pretty much it."
When Angel arrived, the group maintained an aloof demeanor. Only Aurora from High Sect smiled and greeted Angel from afar: "Hey, Angel, I didn't expect you'd be interested. How about considering teaming up? I can make an exception and let you join High Sect, even though you're only at six-level Magic Power."
Ha... Is this a collaboration? This is straight-up annexation!
Walking up to join them, Angel kept his face expressionless as he replied, "No, I think I can do it by myself."
