Monster Chronicles: My Daoist Skill Comes from Mythology

Chapter 493: A New World Taiyi Divine Realm

Great Desert, Moyu City.

Black clouds weighed heavily over the city. Under the pitch-black sky, the city seemed like a treasure sword poised to pierce through the heavens.

However, the city wasn't entirely sinister; on the contrary, it was extravagantly luxurious, with white jade paving the roads, gold inlays, and luminous pearls adorning jade trees.

Within the city, one could see demons in the forms of pythons, monkeys, horses, foxes, wolves, tigers, leopards, and lions roaming about.

Jiangxiao Palace, the residence of the Moyu Qilin.

At this moment, a man in a black robe and white mask stood with his back to the crowd.

As the greatest harbinger of doom, merely meeting his gaze could easily cause others to fall into madness, which was why he faced away from the gathered demons.

"The Donghua Taoist Alliance has officially reorganized into the Heavenly Court. It is said that on that day, the Purple Qi stretched for ten thousand miles, and the sun did not set for three days."

The Pangolin Demon Lord reported.

"Hmph, monkeys donning a crown. A mere few billion people dare to call themselves the Heavenly Court? They court annihilation."

The Python Lord, a figure with a human head and serpent's body, snarled angrily.

"Eh? Why do I sense a hint of envy from you?"

"Stupid snake, what nonsense are you spouting?"

The two almost came to blows, but suddenly, the oppressive air in the hall grew heavier, and both instantly fell silent, merely glaring at each other with resentment in their eyes.

In truth, it was impossible for them not to feel envious. This wasn't about the title itself. Titles were mere words; as long as one desired, anyone could name themselves a Heavenly Venerate or Heavenly King.

The key was authority.

The other side truly possessed Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures, as well as the blessing of Heaven and Earth Essence Qi. Their cultivation speed was dozens of times faster than before, and they could freely wield their newfound authority.

These were the methods attributed to Immortal Gods in legends.

What they envied was these abilities, not the so-called title.

Listening to the reports about Kunlun's Ancestral Court, even the Moyu Qilin couldn't help but feel tempted.

"Time is not on our side. If we let the Human Clan continue to develop, our demise is inevitable."

"Why not strike preemptively and take them down now?"

"Take them down with what? Kunlun is harder than a turtle shell. If the other side chooses to defend, you'd need a dozen lives to even make a dent."

The gathered demons argued endlessly.

Once the Moyu Qilin deemed they had said enough, he finally voiced his stance:

"Which is why the Demon Clan must establish its own Divine Court, crafted with our unique characteristics. Now that we have a sample from the Humans, if we devote ourselves to unraveling it, we should be able to gain some insight."

"This process might take a long time," a Demon Lord remarked.

"No matter. As long as it is built," the Moyu Qilin replied indifferently.

Better late than never, after all.

Henceforth, the entire Moyu Country was mobilized.

The same situation unfolded in the Yujue Demon Country.

The Humans and Demons shifted from savage bloodshed to a race of preparations, each vying against time, creating a temporary tranquility along the borders.

The world entered a brief period of peace, though in the distant future a moment of final reckoning was certain to arrive.

Palace of the Polestar.

The Divine Turtles worked before a golden, ethereal compass projection, calculating something.

With the combined efforts of Zhengxin, Mei Hua, Bai Mei, and others, they achieved a computational speed of three quintillion steps per breath.

Using exhaustive calculation methods, they worked tirelessly for three days and three nights, processing an incomprehensible amount of data, enough to overload the mind of even a Primordial Spirit Expert.

Song Lin stood to the side, anchoring the operation with the power of Kunlun to sustain the massive consumption.

After a long while, the golden compass gradually dissipated.

"There's no doubt about it. The hiding place of the Xiezhi is in the Great Desert," the Divine Turtle said.

"The Great Desert? Moyu Country is currently constructing its version of the Heavenly Court, and they are at the height of their momentum. If we send someone to rescue the Xiezhi, perhaps we could disrupt the Demon Clan's Divine Court plans?" Song Lin asked.

"It's highly likely… Before the Xiezhi disappeared, its strength far surpassed an average Harmonization practitioner, making it a tremendous asset for us."

"Alright, you handle the arrangements," Song Lin instructed.

And with that, he ceased paying them any further attention.

Time sped forward, and ten years passed in the blink of an eye.

A new generation of the Human Clan emerged one after another, and Kunlun's Ancestral Court established normalcy in its institutions.

They orchestrated rain and wind, summoned thunder and lightning; mountains shifted and rivers changed course.

The spirits of day and night patrolled in shifts, four divisions taking turns.

Even the underworld, now known as the Yuan Capital, saw the establishment of a city exclusively for ghostly spirits.

The Demon Clan, under the leadership of the Divine Turtles, also adapted to normalcy.

Witnessed by Kunlun's Ancestral Court, the Human and Demon Clans signed a pact to abstain from killing sentient beings with intelligence.

Humans would not harm demons, and demons would not harm humans.

Ordinary wild beasts were exempt from this treaty.

Many members of the Demon Clan, upon receiving recognition from the Ancestral Court, gained access to practice using the Essence Qi of mountains and rivers. Others took up regional City God positions, and even those with little to their name could settle within Kunlun's nine-layer Zengcheng, where they could obtain basic resources like pills, red water, and Magic Artifacts.

The reason demons once devoured humans was due to their lack of technology—their alchemy, cultivation techniques, and artifact refining skills were all woefully deficient.

Now, with better alternatives at hand, the rationale for eating humans naturally vanished.

Just as humans accustomed to fine cuisine rarely revert to raw, bloody food.

All of this was brought about by Song Lin.

His philosophy differed from the norm. If he wanted others to abide by rules and regulations, then resources in all regards needed to be as generous as possible.

At the very least, remuneration had to be sufficient to deter plundering and pillaging.

If one wished for labor but hesitated to offer adequate compensation, it was bound to breed dissent.

When resources were plentiful, hearts and minds naturally followed.

Song Lin's Taiyi Jinhua Scripture had also expedited the spiritual awakening of the Demon Clan. This spell had become the highest-priority inheritance among the Demon Clan.

The order of Heaven, Earth, Humanity, Ghosts, and Demons was well-established.

Seeing the Kunlun Demon Clan thrive on a path free of senseless bloodshed—a path where one could cultivate through contemplation and enlightenment as Humans did—many struggling demons began entertaining wild thoughts.

If pigs, dogs, rats, and chickens were faring this well, surely those stronger than them could obtain even better treatment?

Another decade passed.

The two Demon countries engaged in large-scale infrastructure projects, imitating Kunlun's Ancestral Court to transform their landscapes. Meanwhile, the lower levels of demon populations lived in hardship. Many mid- and low-tier demons secretly established contact with Kunlun's Ancestral Court, seeking refuge there in pursuit of better positions.

If Qingchen were still alive, he would never have imagined the cost-intensive efforts he once expended to recruit demon tribes were now undone effortlessly by the demons themselves, flocking freely to the Donghua Ancestor Court. His heart would surely have been bitter.

At the foot of Kunlun Mountain, three demon statues guarded the area, with Qing Jie stationed nearby.

Twenty years had passed, and Qing Jie had resigned himself to his fate; guarding the entrance was better than dying, after all.

Gazing up at the towering Kunlun Mountain with its eternal golden summit, Qing Jie's eyes stung as sharp pain spread. His consciousness grew foggy, and he found himself becoming increasingly forgetful and slower in reaction.

At the peak of Kunlun, within the Palace of the Polestar, the colossal dharma forms of Immortal Gods loomed on either side, their heights ranging from hundreds to thousands of feet. At the center stood the Pure Yang Eastern King.

Song Lin sat silently, deep in thought.

His twenty years of seclusion had finally stabilized his realm.

Those two decades had passed in the blink of an eye, and now it was time to open a new world.

Such were Song Lin's thoughts.

With these musings, he stepped into the World in the Pot.

Within the world, four Divine Dragons were nowhere to be seen, for Song Lin had dispatched them to guard the Four Corners Mountain.

"Time to open another world."

Seating himself, he calmed his mind.

After a long pause, Song Lin extended his palm and forced out a drop of essence blood.

The higher his cultivation, the more potent his essence blood. This particular drop gleamed with a golden hue.

If this golden drop were to touch another object, it could potentially create a miraculous artifact.

The essence blood coalesced in the void, forming a demonic talisman.

With his thoughts intertwined with the talisman, a strand of information entered his sea of consciousness:

[Where are the Divine Monarchs? Where is Taiyi's peace? In Heavenly East, there lies the Fusang Tree, with the Candle Dragon beneath it.]

"Taiyi Myth?"

Song Lin was intrigued. It had been a long time since he last entered the Taiyi World. Ancient myths often held profound benefits.
