Hi everyone!

Apologies for being AWOL for the past few months, also for the sudden hiatus. I've made a few decisions and I owe you guys some explanations. First, LOCAL HEROES isn't dead, but it is going to be changing. When I created the series it was for the 2024 Writathon. The whole thing back then was basically a first draft, and it continued that way for the next year and change. When I finished the first book it came in at a whopping 220,000 words. I tried editing it while working on the 2nd book. Then the inevitable happened: I got burned out.

(cue sad trombone)

I got horribly blocked and unsure what to do or where to take the story. At the same time I got some reviews that I really needed both here and from some external readers. As I was trying to fix the first draft I kept running into the same stumbling blocks and the same criticisms. So, after taking a long look at the draft I have done some serious reorganization, adjustment, and reimagining.

I am currently working on Draft 2 but it is essentially a rewrite. Having learned my lesson, I will not be posting it here until I have a full draft that I'm happy with. I will be posting draft scenes as I finish them over on my patreon if you want to follow me over there, however they will be rougher and coming at irregular intervals since I'll post them when I think they could use other eyes. If you follow me over there at the lowest tier then you'll get access to the chapters as I write them. It is going to take me some time to get everything going and for a new draft to come to RR. Thank you for your support and for the encouragement this past year. It's been a really big deal for me.
