The Big Goblin draped in a Divine Robe, holding a scepter, strode past the Hero without acknowledging the young girl's piercing gaze.
This was to be expected, as everything here was merely a shadow of the past, characters presented as historical records, unlike the Hero's Moon's Inheritance, lacking personal consciousness.
The Hero locked her gaze on the back of the Big Goblin until it led the group to the center of the church, stopping before the towering Four-winged statue.
The statue bore no face, only a humanoid outline, with four giant wings overlapping, concealing its face and body, yet standing beneath it, one felt as if they were being watched.
Then, the Big Goblin raised its scepter and led everyone in kneeling prayer, offering their supplications to the statue.
Behind it followed individuals bearing pure white angel wings, and humankind with hair nearly golden. Regardless of species, their noble status was apparent at a glance.
But despite their noble presence, they all knelt under the Four-winged King's statue, following a mere Goblin.
To the Hero, this scene was too absurd to accept.
Just a glance made her eyes feel discomfort, as if an unripe bitter fruit and pepper had been ground into powder and poured into her eyes, causing a fiery pain.
Though she didn't want to watch, she found herself unable to look away.
She took a deep breath, closed her eyes for several seconds to calm herself, then steeled against her inner resistance, opened her eyes again, focusing on the Big Goblin.
Then, with just a glance, the Hero couldn't help but exclaim.
"Such intricate engravings..."
The skin exposed under the loose Divine Robe of the Big Goblin displayed characteristics distinct from ordinary Goblins.
As an enhanced species of Goblin, the Big Goblin typically bore unattractive, yet muscles stronger than those of an adult human male. But the Goblin Priest's muscular lines were symmetrical and well-defined, neither overly exaggerated nor appearing bulky or unbalanced, enough to make many warriors feel inferior.
Even its facial features, although not handsome, set aside the Hero's personal bias, were far more regular than those of an ordinary Goblin, even describable as "tidy."
The most striking, however, was the Magic Patterns on its skin.
The intricate and exquisite Magic Patterns were more delicate than human fingerprints and palm lines, covering most of the visible skin of this Goblin, resembling a meticulously designed artwork.
The Key Changing beside her timely provided the explanation: "That Goblin was one of the Great Priests at the time, and the only one that could maintain the Commandments' status among Goblins, holding a pivotal position in Angel City."
The Hero's face scrunched up, utterly unable to accept this extreme cultural disparity.
However, realizing that this Big Goblin Priest was evidently the "Door Pusher" mentioned by the Key Changing earlier, she refocused her attention on the unfolding Illusion Realm.
After the prayer ceremony ended, the Great Priests began discussing daily affairs.
As the conversation progressed, the tone of the Clerics grew more intense, revealing deep disagreements.
"The birth rate of Half Angels is too low; angels aren't suitable for marrying humans."
"Even if they are born, it's pointless; the angel population is too small. Even if they all married humans, they couldn't produce enough Half Angels."
"What's the point of producing Half Angels? After marrying humans, the Angel Blood gets diluted, and their descendants will still bear Original Sin!"
"Are you questioning the King's answer!?"
The Clerics' voices grew louder, nearly on the verge of rolling up sleeves to fight.
It seems even in Angel City, known for its pure faith, maintaining harmony was difficult when important matters arose.
"Everyone, stop arguing."
The Big Goblin Priest's low voice, although not loud, carried an undeniable authority that silenced all noise.
"I will go to see the King, to explain our confusion to Him."
Then, before the Hero, the tapestry of history slowly unfolded.

In those ancient times of chaotic Magic Element tides, rampant Magic Creatures, and emerging Great Demons, humankind did not yet grasp the concept of nations.
Humankind, born unable to absorb Magic Elements, despite possessing Wisdom, were no different from livestock when faced with powerful Magic Creatures.
Scattered across lands in tribal form, a part of humankind stumbled onto the Angel's domain and beheld the floating city, bowing in reverence.
The descending Angels accepted these exiles, aiding them in constructing cities on land, passing down the spark of civilization.
Yet even under the Angels' protection, humankind's situation was far from ideal.
Angels, born with powerful Magic Power and nearly perfect benevolence, existed in a dimension incompatible with humankind, unable to comprehend many of humankind's struggles.
Hunger, pain, ignorance, love, and hate... Humankind's Original Sin baffled the Angels, but also fascinated them.
