The Investiture: Unlimited Blade Works Nezha

Chapter 447: You're the Real Demon!

Dan Yangzi's face was grim. In this chaotic world, every brick and tile of the Longevity Temple had been accumulated by him bit by bit, and he absolutely would not allow it to be destroyed by a Monkey Demon.

"Why panic? Come with me, I want to see what this Monkey Demon is capable of!"

With that, he led about twenty disciples toward the fire, organizing people to fetch water along the way and instructing others to capture the Monkey Demon with tools.

Dan Yangzi observed the flames burning in the west from afar, watching the Monkey Demon rampage through the firelight. He did not rush in to stop it immediately but quietly observed the Monkey Demon for its other tricks. As long as he could capture the Monkey Demon for alchemy in the end, these losses would mean nothing compared to longevity.

Zheng Kun beside him, seeing people being brutally killed by the Monkey Demon's iron rod, began to feel fear: "Master, look!"

"What's there to fear? A mere Monkey Demon is surely bound to meet a bad end in the Daoist Temple."

After watching for a while longer, Dan Yangzi noticed the Monkey Demon seemed incapable of using spells, relying solely on the iron rod in its hand and its martial arts this whole time.

Those skilled in spells often look down on those who can only fight physically. Even though he was already certain that the Monkey Demon couldn't use magic, he didn't recklessly charge forward; instead, he said to the twenty-odd disciples behind him, "Now is the time to subdue demons and exorcise evils. Go quickly."

Disciples behind: ???

Although they were disciples of Dan Yangzi and had cultivated some mana, in actual combat, they weren't necessarily stronger than other Taoists. Looking at the Monkey Demon below wielding the large, reddish-brown iron rod, with fellow sect members sprawled in red and white patches around him, they hesitated.

Seeing their hesitation, Dan Yangzi snorted, pulling out a blood-red net from his Daoist robe: "I would not send you to die. You have all seen me use this treasure before. Inject your mana into it and capture him."

The Taoists, glancing at it, took it reluctantly, figuring something was better than nothing.

Over twenty of them quietly descended, preparing for a sneak attack with the net.

Dan Yangzi looked at Zheng Kun puzzled.

"Why aren't you going?"

Zheng Kun quickly put on a fawning smile.

"If I go, who will serve you?"

Dan Yangzi said no more but watched the result from afar.

The over twenty Daoists infused the blood net with strands of their cultivated mana, and then from several hundred meters away, they cast it toward Shi Hou. The net brimmed with blood light, and Shi Hou, with his keen spiritual sense, immediately tried to run but failed and got thoroughly ensnared. He swung his iron rod desperately but couldn't break free; his rod was merely mortal iron.

The net glimmered brightly, tightly constricting Shi Hou, constantly corroding his skin with a sizzling sound. No matter how he struggled, he couldn't break free.

The Taoists who were initially fearful, upon seeing Shi Hou gradually grow weak in resistance, began walking over from afar, excited for their first successful use of a magical treasure to catch a demon.

Watching for a while longer, seeing Shi Hou weak and struggling, they eagerly approached to inspect their harvest.

One could only say that these pampered people didn't know what real battle was. Having been trained intensely by Yang Jian, Shi Hou's combat intelligence was highly developed. Since he couldn't deal with the magical treasure, he decided to deal with its owners!

When half of the Taoists using the treasure wandered into his attack range, Shi Hou gripped his iron rod firmly with both hands and swung the net alongside it in a big windmill spin.

The iron rod, enhanced by his formidable strength, emitted a woeful whistling sound, followed by the sound of flesh exploding. From afar, Dan Yangzi watched his initially successful disciples being counter-killed by Shi Hou and couldn't help but curse them as useless trash.

Nonetheless, Dan Yangzi's doubts finally dissipated. This monkey indeed couldn't use spells.

"How dare you, Monkey Demon, cause such havoc in the sacred ground of the Daoist sect and slay our disciples! Do you not fear divine retribution?"

Shi Hou ripped off the now-lifeless net from his body, then tore it apart with his hands. Upon hearing the source of the voice, he charged forward with his iron rod.

Dan Yangzi, observing the charging Shi Hou, remained unflustered, raising the treasure sword from his waist and infusing it with mana. Forming seals with both hands, he uttered, "Go," and the sword sped toward Shi Hou.

Shi Hou locked his pupils onto the sword, and when it entered his attack range, he violently swung his iron rod, swatting the sword away, breaking his rod into two in the process; in the distance, Dan Yangzi's face turned white.

"Damn it, my Immortal Sword!"

Shi Hou continued his charge. Dan Yangzi, seeing Shi Hou swiftly approaching, had no time for seals, hastily biting his finger and smearing the blood on his brow. Muttering in an unintelligible chant, he caused a pitch-black banner to fly from his body, inscribed with the word "summon."

"Go!"

A swarm of ghostly figures emerged from the banner, wailing as they engulfed Shi Hou.

The Ten Thousand Soul Banner, Dan Yangzi's last resort, made in the traditional way with an abundance of harvested souls, had become his trump card.

These Ghost Babies, filled with resentment in life, now served his command.

Anyone else might have been overwhelmed by Dan Yangzi's Ten Thousand Soul Banner, but Shi Hou wasn't just anyone. He was a monkey, a Shi Hou born from the Divine Stone and bathed in Holy Blood.

Though he hadn't embarked on the path of cultivation yet, the foundation born from the Divine Stone wouldn't simply vanish. If Dan Yangzi was a level ten elite monster, then Shi Hou was a level thirty mini-boss with top-notch passives, albeit only capable of basic attacks.

Shi Hou's spiritual sense absorbed the pain of the infantile ghosts around him, stoking his inner rage further. His eyes glistened with streaks of red as he bellowed furiously at Dan Yangzi.
