North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 610: Christmas

Looking at the case materials displayed on the computer, Jimmy couldn't help but grimace. Such a family massacre is a big deal, but fortunately, it didn't happen in New York, otherwise, it would definitely cause headaches for many people if reported.

The impact of just a family massacre wouldn't be too great, but the photos of this case show dismemberment. Two people were beheaded, and another person's right arm was chopped off. According to the forensic doctor's analysis, an axe-like weapon was likely used. The wounds are not clean, theoretically not from a sharp blade, but no murder weapon was found at the scene, so it's temporarily unclear what the weapon was.

Because the detached villa is on the outermost edge of the suburb and some distance from nearby residents, agents visited the area, but no one noticed any unusual sounds, nor noticed any strangers coming to this place.

Among the five deceased, two lived on the first floor, two lived on the second floor, and one lived on the third floor. They each had separate rooms, but all were in the first-floor living room when they died.

Based on the positions of the bodies and the setup of the living room, agents reconstructed their positions before death. It seems they noticed something while chatting and watching TV in the living room, leading two people to leave the couch and were killed outside the sofa area, one person was killed at the single sofa position, and the other two were killed on the long sofa.

The dismembered bodies were the two far from the sofa and the person on the single sofa. These corpses all had cutting wounds, but the scene showed no signs of struggle, which means the five might not have made significant defensive moves, quite different from the average reaction.

After checking the floor and entrance, the forensics team found nothing unusual and no obvious footprints. Except for the living room, no other places in the building had bloodstains or signs of a struggle. It can be determined that all victims were killed in the living room.

The case is currently in a semi-sealed state. If Jimmy hadn't checked the documents, he wouldn't have seen it in the news at all. It shows that the field office and the police department likely issued a gag order.

There are too few clues to investigate, and it's estimated that it will likely become a cold case. It depends on how they handle it.

Jimmy looked through the records currently registered in the system. The case report hasn't been seen yet, only the data submitted by the forensics department. So unless he contacts the agents handling the case, he probably won't get the case details anytime soon.

This might be considered fortunate, at least this big case didn't appear in his jurisdiction. Otherwise, not only the FBI but also the NYPD would have a hard time.

Priest Rodney was very helpful; he contacted Jimmy just one day later and asked him to bring the gun on his day off.

On the weekend, Jimmy replaced an 1875 with an M686 and went to the church early in the morning. Priest Rodney didn't expect Jimmy to arrive so early, only after finishing the service did he leave the church with Jimmy, and the two drove to Staten Island.

Staten Island is the most low-key area among the five boroughs of New York. It rarely appears in various news, so many people subconsciously overlook this area when talking about New York.

However, the island does have some very old churches, like St. Andrew's Church, St. Paul's Church, St. Jacques Church, etc. But Jimmy only knew these basic facts; he has never been to these churches, completely relying on Priest Rodney for guidance to arrive outside an old church.

Priest Rodney asked Jimmy to park, and the two entered the church, where an old priest was already waiting for them.

Priest Rodney walked up to the old priest and bowed slightly. "Priest White, good day."

Priest White smiled and said, "Rodney, is he Jimmy Yang?"

Jimmy stepped forward and greeted with a smile, "Priest White, good day. I am Jimmy Yang."

Priest White nodded, and Priest Rodney said, "Good day, now take out your gun."

Jimmy reached under his arm to draw the M686 because this time he came for this gun, possibly to show someone, so he didn't load it in advance. After taking it out, he opened the cylinder to check again and then handed it to Priest White.

Priest White spread his hands, holding the gun in both hands, turned, and walked to the altar. He placed the gun on the altar, made the sign of the cross with his right hand, then spread his hands, slightly raised his head, and seemed to be saying something.

Although Jimmy wasn't far from him, he couldn't hear what he was saying, but judging by his actions, it was likely some prayer words.

Soon, Priest White ended the prayer with a cross sign, took Jimmy's gun back from the altar with both hands, turned and faced Rodney and Jimmy, "Alright, you can take it back now."

Jimmy somewhat puzzled, reached out to take back the gun, holding it in his hand as he looked at Priest White, "That's it?"

Priest White nodded, "Yes, you can rest assured, this gun hasn't been tainted by anything unclean."

Jimmy bowed in thanks, then returned the revolver to the underarm holster.

Rodney: "Alright, Jimmy, you wait for me in the car first."

Jimmy nodded, bid farewell to the two, and turned to leave the church.

Rodney watched Jimmy exit the door, turned to Priest White, "Priest White, did you find anything?"

White nodded and then shook his head, "He doesn't have any issues. In this church, if he were truly possessed, there would be some reaction. I think his abilities might be a gift from heaven."
