The fog was not drifting quickly. Jimmy took out 6 spare bullets and loaded them into the 1875. With the aid of Heart Eye, he located 6 slightly larger white dots. In just over a second, all 6 larger white dots disappeared after being hit by the bullets, and the smaller white dots nearby vanished too.
The fog suddenly became much fainter. Previously drifting toward Jimmy, it dissipated into a larger mass of fog after the white dots disappeared, and within Heart Eye, only a faint, fog-like form could be seen drifting toward the nearby forest.
Jimmy only had 6 spare bullets for the 1875, because the chances of encountering such entities were really too low, so he hadn't prepared many. Now that he had emptied two rounds, he could only put them away, switch to the Python in hand, take another 6 bullets from his pocket, close the car door, and chase after it.
This kind of entity still needed to be eradicated. A mere repulse wouldn't guarantee it wouldn't bear a grudge against Jimmy. If it followed him home, it would be unbearable for anyone. Indeed, Jimmy's Heart Eye Ability could be used for extended periods, but he couldn't keep it on 24 hours a day; he had to sleep eventually.
The foggy Spiritual Body got bigger but moved slower. Jimmy followed behind, running toward the forest while aiming at the small white dots on the body of the foggy Spiritual Body. He was familiar with these white dots, the weak points of the Spiritual Body, or rather, their fatal points; once cleaned up, it was time for the Spiritual Bodies to dissipate and die.
This was Jimmy's first time using the Python against a Spiritual Body. Though it was a new gun, it was still effective, but like the M686, it could only hit a single white point and couldn't achieve the Demon-breaking effect of the 1875.
As he fired, Jimmy pondered his abilities. Judging from the Python's performance, it seemed the real reason he could kill the Spiritual Bodies by hitting the white dots was because of him, not just ordinary bullets and guns. It seemed his Heart Eye Ability might have more aspects that he was unaware of.
If that was the case, Jimmy quickly reloaded after firing 6 shots, withdrew the Python, took out his Glock, and fired again. However, to Jimmy's disappointment, the Glock bullets had no effect. He aimed at several white dots and did hit them under the state of Heart Eye, but the white dots did not disappear.
This encounter with the small Spiritual Body proved very fruitful for Jimmy. Even though he still had much to learn about the secrets of Heart Eye, the mere fact that Python could be used was already a pleasant surprise. He carried plenty of .357 bullets for the Python, so he put away the Glock, drew the Python once again, and now that there were not many white points left, Jimmy successfully cleared them all, and the already faint foggy Spiritual Body completely vanished.
Jimmy finally took a deep breath and began scanning the surroundings. Since it had been drifting this way, this should be its base. Now that the threat was gone, Jimmy observed as he walked forward and soon discovered a man lying face down on the ground.
Jimmy walked over slowly, "FBI, don't move." He shouted before realizing how pointless it was to shout in such a desolate place. This guy lying on the ground without moving at all in this weather, he was certainly either passed out or dead.
Jimmy took out a flashlight and, on closer inspection, he laughed. It was the familiar down jacket; he had been looking for this guy all day. He grabbed the man's arm, helped him to roll slightly on his side, and shone the flashlight on his face. It was indeed his target, the fugitive Rob Reilly.
"Lucky me," Jimmy said as he checked Reilly's carotid pulse. There was no heartbeat; indeed, he had found him, but what he had found was a dead body.
Jimmy shone his flashlight on Reilly's body but saw no signs of blood. He turned him over, and there were no obvious wounds on the front either. His body was not completely stiff, suggesting he hadn't been dead long. It was strange, how could he have died suddenly here? Jimmy thought of the ghostly entity from before, there had to be something around here.
