North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 750: 459 Cleaners also have a problem?_3

Deducing the warehouse from a single key was indeed not easy. The critical issue was that Jimmy wasn't clear about what "KA" represented. He found this sort of reasoning and puzzle-solving process quite interesting.

Besides that key, it now needed to be determined whether Tim should be investigated or not. If not, Jimmy could already head back to Dallas. If the investigation continued, there could be a lot to do, starting with checking the smartphone number Scott used to contact Tim.

This number was different from the one Davis in Houston provided, which clearly indicated Tim had more than one phone, using different ones to contact different people.

Investigating a phone number's location wasn't difficult. Jimmy could get back in touch with Caitlin at the Anti-Terrorism Bureau; he should be able to persuade her to help with another investigation, although using the Bureau like this might really infuriate her.

Although he was an agent for the CIA in name, he had never done anything for Caitlin. The previous help could be deemed as her trying to avoid suspicion and owing him a favor. But if he kept using her like this, nobody would be able to stand it.

Another method would be to contact Supervisor Lambert or Agent Ray. They should also be able to help investigate a smartphone's location, but doing so might cause them to engage in some borderline conduct.

The last method would be to contact the Manhattan office. He had already been assigned to Dallas, and reaching out to Manhattan felt awkward, especially since Jimmy still hadn't explained his identity. Hughes probably had some thorns in his side over this.

Moreover, even if the phone's location was investigated, there was no way to locate Tim in a crowd. Jimmy didn't have a picture of Tim, and such location inquiries couldn't be used frequently. In crowded places, it was impossible to figure out who was Tim.

The more he thought about it, the more troublesome it seemed. Forget it, better to deal with the aftermath of killing Scott first.

Jimmy took a second suit out of his suitcase and put it on, then wandered the streets again, making sure to loiter around the office building Scott had left from twice, ensuring the reception and security noticed him before leaving.

Jimmy wanted to create an impression that he was still investigating Scott's whereabouts, looking for him. If someone noticed Scott was missing, at most they would think someone was searching for him and that he had gone into hiding, not that he had been killed by Jimmy.

When doing a job, it's essential to be thorough. Jimmy planned to spend another day or two to make his actions seem convincing, while also paying attention to whether any news had leaked or if someone might come looking for trouble.

The old man had brought three people to clean up, and when they left, one was missing; it was clear something might have gone wrong. Jimmy was genuinely concerned whether someone from their group might rat him out for some reason.

Back then, if Jimmy had really made a move, not one of the three cleaners could have evaded him. But he really couldn't make a move; he had called them over to clean up the body and eliminate evidence. If he had killed them, how would he handle those bodies? That was something Jimmy was completely clueless about.

There are experts in every field. For cleaning up bodies and crime scene evidence, they were the professionals. Under those circumstances, the only thing Jimmy could do was let them go; otherwise, the police station would probably be in an uproar by now.

Jimmy didn't call Justin, as he was someone from Little Rock, and contacts with that old man were possible through other people. Telling Justin now would serve no purpose and might even draw the group's attention to Justin due to their internal issues, which would be terribly unfair to him.
