North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 766: 466 Illegal border crossing

Last night, Jimmy had already received a call from CIA Agent Tony, but he had outright rejected it, telling him to wait for his own call to notify him. Now that Nia had been sent away, it was naturally time to get to work.

On his way back to the hotel, Jimmy called Tony and arranged to meet at the hotel. By the time Jimmy got back to the hotel, Tony was already sitting in the lobby waiting for him, though Tony's condition was not great. His right arm was in a sling around his neck, a situation Jimmy had experienced himself in the past.

Jimmy, "You're injured?"

Tony shook his head, "Minor thing, we'll talk about it in your room." He reached for the briefcase beside the couch and joined Jimmy in the elevator.

In Jimmy's room, Tony asked Jimmy to open the bag and take out the printed intelligence reports inside.

Jimmy stopped Tony with his hand, "Before we discuss the intelligence, what's with your injury? Were you discovered while investigating?"

Tony, "There was a little accident. When I met with the informant, I discovered they had been followed. I got hurt while taking care of the tail."

Jimmy, "You went to meet the informant by yourself? In Mexico?"

Tony, "Yeah, in New Laredo City. The informant was a repairman from Barrio Manor. He left under the guise of making purchases but didn't notice that a security guard was trailing him."

Jimmy, "Was that security guard tough?"

Tony, "No, it was just that I was ambushed and took a bullet. I took him out when I fought back. The informant has already left New Laredo and hasn't returned."

Jimmy frowned and said, "Isn't the timeliness of the intelligence in question then? Since they've sent a tail, it means they're suspicious."

Tony, "For the time being, it's fine. The tail didn't have a chance to send a message out. That was two days ago, so we need to act fast. At least as of this morning, Barrio hadn't left the manor. Let's start."

Tony pointed at a map that already had a small square and an arrow marked on it, "Barrio's location has been pinpointed. He's in a manor in the suburbs of New Laredo, right here."

He then took out an enlarged satellite photo, "The estate's buildings are divided into three rows of front, middle, and back. The front is the security room, this house on the right side of the main entrance, which normally has three people on duty."

"The middle is Barrio's home, his bedroom is on the second floor on the west side, but we don't have a grasp of the house's structure yet. Behind the house here there's a swimming pool, but his swimming frequency is not consistent. Long-range sniping is very difficult, as there are no high buildings within a two-kilometer radius, and constructing something would draw their attention."

"Also, the manor's main electrical circuit breaker is in the main building, a small room next to the stairs on the first floor. If we need to disable it, we can only do so after entry; there's no way to cut it off from the outside. There's a generator in the basement of the estate, which will start automatically after a power outage, restoring power in at most one minute."

"The row of small houses at the back is where his subordinates live. We have confirmed there are about 20 security personnel, divided into two shifts to protect this manor."

Tony separated the intelligence reports and found a photo, "This was taken by our people from a distance, this is Barrio."

Jimmy picked up the photo, a man in just swim trunks was heading to the pool, still only showing a side profile, but the basic features were now discernible.

Barrio appeared to be Mexican, with darker skin, brown short hair that seemed to be slightly curled, though it was uncertain if this was due to distortion from long focal length photography.

There were no reference points beside him, so his height couldn't be determined, but he seemed to be quite tall.

Jimmy, "It's going to be difficult to approach his manor in this environment. Whether from the main entrance or the side farm fields, it's hard not to be detected. By the way, do they have any large-scale equipment like thermal imaging cameras there?"

Tony, "According to the informant's report, it's confirmed that there are surveillance cameras. There are cameras at the main entrance and around the perimeter walls, mainly outward-facing. It's not clear about the interior of the estate, but we can try to cut off their telephone and internet lines when you're in action."

Jimmy, "Can you prepare a signal jammer? Start jamming all wireless signals, including mobile phones and walkie-talkies, within a one-kilometer radius of the manor once we begin the operation."

Tony, "There isn't one readily available in Mexico. I'll figure something out. What else do you need?"

Jimmy, "How do I get there? And how do I get back?"

Tony, "There is a transport tunnel that they are still using. It may require killing to get through. I can bring over a small team, but they can't go over to the Mexican side. You can return the same way, or you can return through normal means. I will prepare your identification documents."

Jimmy, "How many guards are at the tunnel entrance?"

Tony, "Not many, normally there are 2-3 guarding the passage, and more than 2 at the Mexican entrance. As long as you don't encounter them during a delivery, there usually aren't many."

Jimmy, "If that's all, I'll handle it myself. Prepare two silenced pistols for me, preferably Glocks 19, an MP7 with a silencer and variable scope, and at least three magazines. Also, prepare a bullet-proof vest, a face mask, head-mounted night vision goggles, and two sets of casual clothing."

Tony, "No problem, everything will be ready before you reach your destination."

Jimmy, "That should do for now. When do we leave?"

Tony, "I'll come to pick you up tomorrow morning."

Jimmy nodded, and Tony turned and left immediately, leaving the bag and the intelligence reports with Jimmy.
