Immortal Creed

Chapter 139: Conversation before leaving

The white space.

"Strong! Too strong!"

"Is this a Knight who has completed the purification process, or a Great Knight as Lucrezia said?"

"But, no matter what, with such a strong person around, I temporarily don't have the ability to fight against the Glenbagen Family."

"Sigh… I'd better run away quickly."

Liens said with some regret.

He didn't know whether he should be happy that a single probe had reeled in such a big fish.

Originally, he had thought he would be besieged by a large number of Glenbagen Family guards, hidden guards, and Extraordinary Ones.

He didn't expect to directly encounter a strong person he couldn't resist at all.

However, this is also good… at least it won't let him misjudge the Glenbagen Family's strength.

Otherwise, if he had just gone on a killing spree in the instance and then was crippled in reality, it would be a bit hard to smile.

"However, that Adonis is indeed a bit strange."

"I wonder if he's truly a Child of Fortune, or if he gained his luck through some kind of contraption?"

"Forget it… In reality, I'd better stay away from him."

"Luck is too mysterious; staying far away will prevent disaster."

Liens mused.

Night, Military Fortress, dormitory.

Liens packed his belongings, bundled up a few changes of clothes, took his longsword, and slung his pack over his back, ready to jump out of the Military Fortress through the window.

After leaving the instance where he tested the Glenbagen Family's strength, Liens returned to reality to practice his sword.

Having almost completed everything, he now only had to practice his sword and wait for time to slowly pass.

And now, the time had come… he also had to fulfill his "promise."

"Hmm?"

Liens stopped his movement to jump out the window and turned to look at a certain spot in the room.

There was a strange creature beckoning to him.

It looked like a small fairy from his previous life's fantasies, but it had horns on its head, bat-like wings behind it, and a tiny black tail.

Its body had feminine characteristics, dressed revealingly, with a curvaceous figure.

If scaled up to normal human size, it would probably be a very alluring beauty.

From these characteristics, it gave Liens the feeling of a succubus from fantasy works, but… it was too small.

Moreover, Liens also saw elemental reactions similar to Lucrezia's on it.

"Are you the thing that was monitoring before?"

Liens casually glanced at Gars, who seemed to be sleeping even more soundly, and asked directly.

Seemingly displeased by the word "thing" from Liens's mouth, it stomped its feet angrily in the air.

It even pointed its small hand at Liens, continuously shouting something.

Unfortunately, Liens didn't understand its language and didn't know what it was saying.

But combining the previous context and its behavior, he still knew it wasn't anything good.

"Are you done scolding? If you're done, you should tell me what you want with me?"

"Did Lucrezia send you to find me?"

After waiting for a while, Liens continued to speak to the strange creature in front of him.

Perhaps hearing a keyword, it suddenly stopped shouting and snorted angrily.

Then it flew out the window and headed in a certain direction, beckoning Liens to follow it.

Liens obediently followed; he also wanted to see what Lucrezia ultimately wanted to do.

Not long after, Liens was led by the "little succubus" to a secluded grove.

This was the forest outside the Military Fortress; its usual purpose, besides providing some greenery, was to block the view of ordinary residents looking towards the Military Fortress.

After entering here, Liens quickly saw Lucrezia.

She was wearing loose casual clothes, unlike the revealing work attire of a daily princess knight.

But with her figure, even loose clothes still highlighted sufficient curves.

And her quietly waiting appearance, to an uninformed person, looked like a girlfriend waiting for her boyfriend to arrive.

It was very heartwarming.

Unfortunately, besides herself…

There was only Liens, a straight man of steel, and a "little succubus" of unknown species.

So, facing this scene, Liens directly broke the harmonious atmosphere, calmly asking Lucrezia, "Lucrezia, what do you need me for this late at night?"

"Your current attire, are you preparing to return to your post? Or do you want to leave the Glenbagen Family directly?"

"I can see that you've concentrated the elements in your body to your brain; you must be trying to remove the 'contract' in your brain, right?"

"Or, you're already prepared to remove it, just worried that the Glenbagen Family will receive feedback."

"That's why you haven't made a move yet…"

Lucrezia didn't mind Liens's lack of romantic understanding and slowly said to him.

"This seems to have nothing to do with Her Royal Highness, does it?"

"So, you should just state your purpose directly; I don't want to waste too much time here."

Liens continued to speak bluntly.

"Sigh… Your mindset and demeanor make me feel that my idea tonight will probably fall through."

"But I'll still ask… "

"After leaving the Glenbagen Family, are you willing to follow me?"

"At least in terms of benefits and treatment, what I can offer should not be worse than the Glenbagen Family."

"Although I may not be able to guide you in swordsmanship, I can introduce you to someone who can help your progress in swordsmanship."

Lucrezia asked Liens.

"I apologize, Your Royal Highness, your conditions are very good, but…"

"I no longer want to be a subordinate of others or other forces."

"At least not now…"

Liens directly rejected Lucrezia's proposal.

However, to avoid conflict, he still left some room for maneuver in his words.

"Is that so, what a pity…"

Lucrezia sighed, expressing regret.

Hearing this, Liens showed no reaction on his face, but his left hand gripping the sword sheath tightened even more.

Then, Liens saw something taken from Lucrezia's embrace and thrown towards him.

Sensing no danger, Liens reached out and caught the book flying towards him.

Holding it close, he could even faintly smell a fragrance.

This was either Lucrezia's natural scent or perfume sprayed on it beforehand.

Before Liens could express his question, Lucrezia preemptively answered: "These are some insights into the Extraordinary domain that I've summarized. I believe they should be helpful to you."

Hearing her explanation, Liens casually flipped through a few pages, confirming that it indeed contained a lot of Extraordinary information, both known and unknown to him.

"Thank you very much, Your Royal Highness; this is exactly what I lack."

"I will repay your kindness if I have the opportunity in the future."

"If you have nothing urgent to say, then please forgive me for taking my leave."

Liens expressed his sincere gratitude to Lucrezia.

"No, I wish you all the best… I hope we have a chance to meet again in the future."

Lucrezia shook her head.

"I also wish you all the best, and I look forward to our future encounter… Goodbye!"

After Liens finished speaking, he didn't hesitate and turned to leave directly.
