Chapter 309: Is He Imitating Me?

In the space shrouded with white fog, the air was pungent with the smell of blood, yet the outcome of the battle here was completely opposite to what Jiang Li had seen before.

Moreover, there was no wind or rain, only the persistent fog that never dispersed.

Soldiers wearing Yellow Turbans and bodies as massive as giants lay on the ground, their blood flowing out in copious amounts, nourishing the land.

The Heavenly Soldiers clad in silver armor were checking the bodies, swiftly delivering a coup de grâce to any survivors. Judging by their Qi Mechanisms, their Grade should be no less than that of the Yellow Turban Warriors, all at least of the Eighth Rank, clearly the officers among the hundred thousand Heavenly Soldiers, and in fact, they should be called Heavenly Generals.

The beloved big brother Jiang Li had been missing was now standing with hands behind his back amidst a group of Heavenly Generals, his gaze distant and his demeanor that of a superior being.

He was looking ahead into the mist, as if he could see through space and find the source of the fog—the Dharma Platform where the Marquis of Wind and Mother of Lightning resided.

However, at that moment—

"Boom!"

A bolt of Heavenly Thunder tore through the fog, striking precisely on top of Feng Manlou's head, causing the exalted figure to shudder like a tiger, blue smoke rising from his body.

"Thunder Technique!"

"It's the Thunder God and the Mother of Lightning!"

"Protect the Prince Consort!"

The Heavenly Generals immediately shielded Feng Manlou within their ranks.

Whether out of duty or personal sentiment, they all prioritized Feng Manlou's protection in the first moment.

Out of duty, because these Heavenly Generals were subordinates of the Princess, placed within the Forbidden Army by her. Personal sentiment, because over this period, they had witnessed Feng Manlou's abilities, knowing that this Prince Consort—rumored to have only achieved the position of Deputy of the Southern Heavenly Department through nepotism—actually possessed genuine talent and had earned their respect.

Both officially and privately, they had to ensure that Feng Manlou remained alive.

"It's nothing, it's nothing; this Prince Consort is unharmed."

Feng Manlou stood in the center of everyone, exhaled a puff of smoke, and waved his hand.

Blue smoke was still emerging from his head, and his body bore a burnt smell, but these issues were obviously no serious matter for him.

What truly posed a challenge to him was this sudden stroke of Heavenly Thunder.

This was a warning from Heaven, or more accurately, a caution that he was in violation of his vow. The reason was probably...

...because Jiang Li was also within the Jiuli Vast Sky Realm Law at that moment and had encountered danger. Feng Manlou, possessing the capability to break this law, had yet hesitated to act, thereby leaving Jiang Li in a perilous position and creating some sort of complicity.

'But that's not right; with my worthy brother's tenacity, even if everyone else perished, he might not necessarily die. How could he possibly face a life-threatening danger? It couldn't be that he's encountered Zhang Zhixuan's true form, could it?'

Feng Manlou pondered the possibilities in his mind while his pupils narrowed secretly into slits.

He scanned the surroundings, piercing through the fog and the intricate spatial fluctuations, capturing three colliding Qi signatures.

'Thunder Technique... the Qi of the Thunder God and the Mother of Lightning... Together, they indeed pose a formidable threat, but—' Feng Manlou revealed a perplexed expression.

However, if Jiang Li truly wanted to leave, his current strength would make it an achievable task.

'This kid couldn't be playing a trick on me, could he?'

Feng Manlou, as if telepathically connected with Jiang Li, entertained a similar thought.

Even though the Thunder God and the Mother of Lightning were powerful, the likelihood of them taking Jiang Li's life was not impossible, but certainly extremely low. Thus, Feng Manlou's first guess was that Jiang Li was putting on an act for him.

But since Heaven had sent a warning, it meant that Jiang Li had indeed been seriously injured, and that couldn't be faked.

After considering for a moment, Feng Manlou made up his mind, "Generals, heed my command, follow me and strike at the enemy."

The timing was about right, starting a little early wouldn't hurt.

Surrounded by no more than thirty Heavenly Generals, Feng Manlou quickly arranged his forces and stepped without hesitation into the mist ahead.

After a brief moment of discomfort, the fog before their eyes thinned, and cold rain incessantly fell from above, soaking everyone.

This place differed from the space they had been in before; it was characterized by constant rain and chilling wind, an ever-present storm.

As Feng Manlou led his group into this space, stepping under the downpour, the Primordial Lord Rain Master on the distant Dharma Platform immediately felt their presence.

"Feng Manlou has appeared, accompanied by thirty Forbidden Army Heavenly Soldiers," said the Primordial Lord Rain Master with eyes calm as water, reflecting the distant scene, and spoke softly.

"The Feng Manlou who has eluded us until now?" The Marquis of Wind asked from the other side of the Dharma Platform, "This Long Prince Consort does possess some skill, perhaps he has discovered the secret of the rain."

As the husband of the Princess, the Marquis of Wind did not completely dismiss Feng Manlou. Although surprised that Feng Manlou could avoid detection, he was not overly astonished. However, that doesn't mean he held Feng Manlou in high regard.

Could a mere Feng Manlou possibly break the Jiuli Vast Sky Realm Law?

Then the Marquis of Wind saw the Rain Master's expression grow stern.

"Feng Manlou has already passed through ten Void Realms," declared the Primordial Lord Rain Master somberly.

In such a short time, Feng Manlou, leading his people, had sped through, gathering followers, and slaying enemies, already crossing ten realms.

Most importantly, the Rain Master could sense that he was approaching the Dharma Platform.

Like a sharp knife, relentlessly and unhesitatingly piercing towards the position of the Dharma Platform, with not a moment's delay or turn.

"It seems we have underestimated this man," the Marquis of Wind revealed a look of surprise.

Nevertheless, though surprised, he was not discomposed and simply looked down at the white fog that now covered a hundred miles, saying, "He cannot stop us. Thunder God, Mother of Lightning, intercept Feng Manlou."

The wind suddenly picked up, carrying his command into the mist. After many deflections, it clearly and unmistakably reached its intended listeners.

Simultaneously, the Dharma Platform trembled, and a huge helmeted head appeared behind it, facing the two upon it.

Looking down from this head one could see the vast expanse of arms and the towering figure of a mountain's peak, with the Dharma Platform resting upon its shoulders.

The Immortal of Colossal Spirit!

Zhang Zhixuan's Daoist Soldier!

He was now shouldering the Dharma Platform, lifting it towards the sky as if to offer it to Heaven itself.

Countless Bright Lights drifted up from below, ascending with the Dharma Platform into the sky, converging in the firmament.

"Before a battle, in dire straits, the only aid mortals can invoke is that of Heaven."

The Marquis of Wind looked at these Bright Lights with anticipation and said, "Soon, very soon."

In the sky, where unnoticed ripples had formed, they swirled towards the center, forming a vortex that absorbed the multitude of Bright Lights. Above the Dharma Platform, Yellow Clouds formed, rolling and spreading across the heavens.

A Thunder Light raced across the void, striking the Dharma Platform and revealing a figure resembling a small giant.

Dressed in a Mystic Robe and Iron Crown, with a huge build and a beard twisted like serpents, he lacked the bearing of a hearty and bold man, instead, his demeanor was alien and detached.

He looked up to the sky, quietly saying, "It has begun."

His gaze met the heavens, as if he could see an invisible gaze looking back.

"Sacrifice to Heaven."

He extended his hand, and a rugged, ancient great bow appeared in his grasp, "Shooting the sky."
