"Wake up quickly!"
As Yuan Ming rapidly descended, golden light burst forth within his Sea of Consciousness, and the soul of the Golden Crow from Xi Ying emitted a grandiose sound!
Yuan Ming suddenly awoke, no longer bothering to conceal himself, and quickly maneuvered his hands to cast a spell, unleashing all the power of the Purple Star Nine Dragon Spear.
"Whoosh," a dragon-like purple light lifted his and Wulu's bodies, rushing towards Long Chong and Qiong Yun and scooping them up as well.
Boom!
The suction from the abyss once again doubled in strength, and the Purple Star Nine Dragon Spear couldn't withstand it, plummeting downwards.
"Hong Ling, Blood Shadow! Lend me a hand!" Yuan Ming's heart sank, and he connected with the Shura Blood Devouring Map through his Divine Sense.
Two grand jets of blood light shot out from his body, infusing into the Purple Star Nine Dragon Spear, which then emitted a joyous and incomparable whistle as all twelve runes were fully activated, and the rune formation rapidly spun.
Under the explosive increase in power of the Purple Star Nine Dragon Spear, it shot up into the sky once more, like a frenzied dragon breaking through the heavens, bursting out of the storm of air currents.
The purple light moved like lightning, instantly covering a distance of several hundred yards, escaping from the region of the abyss and landing upon the continent; the terrifying suction instantly dissipated.
At the same time, Hong Ling and Blood Shadow withdrew their Mana, and the Purple Star Nine Dragon Spear reverted to its original form.
Yuan Ming heaved a sigh of relief, flipped his hand to store the long spear, and Wulu, Long Chong, and Qiong Yun three dropped to the ground.
The three of them were still in a daze at this moment, not yet recovered from the screeches they had just endured.
Yuan Ming sent out three streams of Soul Power to help them awaken, then turned to look back into the Bottomless Black Abyss where the azure giant bird had already disappeared, and the violent currents within the abyss were gradually calming.
"What was that giant bird just now? How could it be so huge?" Yuan Ming was still taken aback.
"If I'm not mistaken, that should be an Overseas Demon Beast, possessing part of the Kunpeng's bloodline," Xi Ying slowly said.
"Indeed, it's only the Demon Beasts from the Overseas World that could possibly have such a massive size, but why would such a creature appear in this Secret Realm?" Yuan Ming was puzzled.
"Who knows? Three Immortals Island is indeed extraordinary; not even seeing the entrance yet and we've already encountered an Overseas Demon Beast. I wonder what kind of surprises await once we truly enter Three Immortals Island," Xi Ying stated with considerable excitement.
"You talk as if it's simple. If there are such Overseas Demon Beasts all over inside Three Immortals Island, we'd better head back immediately. Otherwise, even multiple lives wouldn't be enough to spare," Yuan Ming shook his head and said.
The pressure that the azure giant bird had left on him far exceeded that of a Nascent Soul cultivator, at least a Level 4 Upper Stage, or even a Level 5 existence. He admitted that although his strength was not weak now, he didn't have the audacity to engage in combat with a Level 5 Demon Beast.
"Don't worry, it shouldn't be so perilous inside Three Immortals Island," Xi Ying assured.
"Let's hope so," Yuan Ming said as he rubbed his forehead.
Wulu and the others had strong Divine Souls, and with Yuan Ming's assistance, they quickly came to their senses.
"We're still alive? Ha ha, I actually thought for sure we were going to be swallowed by the abyss and die without a complete corpse!" As Long Chong leapt up, he laughed heartily.
"Brother Yuan, could it be that you saved us?" Qiong Yun steadied himself and turned to ask Yuan Ming.
"I'm hardly that capable. I had also been immobilized by that azure bird's cry just now. But at the last moment, when I saw the azure bird flap its wings, raising a sky-high gale, we might have been blown here by that wind," Yuan Ming shook his head, a hint of lingering fear crossing his face just right.
"You're becoming more and more smooth and natural at talking nonsense; it seems you're naturally suited for lying and acting—no wonder you were able to awaken the 'Emotion Manipulation' ability," Xi Ying chuckled lightly.
Yuan Ming secretly smiled bitterly; he did not want to lie, but with the continuous crises in the secret realm and the unclear objectives of others, he could not reveal his true strength.
Wulu looked at Yuan Ming but remained silent.
"Is that so? I wonder what the origins of that azure giant bird are? To be able to move so freely within this Black Abyss, it's probably a Level 4 Upper Stage Demon Beast, or possibly even Level 5," Qiong Yun said with a frown.
"Why worry so much about that? The point is that we are alive," Long Chong stated nonchalantly.
Qiong Yun rolled his eyes at Long Chong but temporarily set aside his confusion, turning his head to view the continent in front of them.
An intense wave of Spiritual Energy hit them in the face, several times more concentrated than the previous continent.
Qiong Yun felt the Spiritual Energy penetrate into his body, rejuvenating his nearly depleted Dantian and Qi Sea, without even actively cultivating.
"Such dense Spiritual Energy, comparable to the effect of the Third-Rank Gathering Spirit Array on Thousand Dragon Island—is there a Gathering Spirit Stone or Gathering Spirit Spring here, one of those spirit-gathering treasures?" Now Long Chong had also noticed this and exclaimed in surprise.
The so-called Gathering Spirit Stones and Gathering Spirit Springs are manifestations of a Spirit Vein, and only extremely potent Spirit Veins, through tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of years of evolution, have the possibility of crystallizing into such treasures. These divine items can automatically draw in nature's spiritual energy; even if they are placed in a barren area lacking in Spiritual Energy, they can eventually form a Spirit Vein over time, a much-coveted treasure for any Cultivation Sect.
Yuan Ming's heart stirred as he considered the thin nature's spiritual energy within the space of his Stealing Heaven Tripod. If he could obtain one or two Gathering Spirit objects, the situation would greatly improve.
"What a pity, if it weren't for the Star Rain and Starry Sky Beast, this place would really be an excellent place for cultivation," Qiong Yun said with a shake of his head.
Hearing this, Long Chong and Lu nodded in agreement, their expressions filled with regret.
Seizing the opportunity to rest after landing, Yuan Ming surveyed the surrounding scenery.
On the vast plains, a gentle breeze flitted by, allowing the tender green shoots to relax their posture while tickling the ankles of passersby.
Tiny streams crossed the land like silver mirrors, reflecting the star-filled sky, yet their origins and destinations were a mystery.
Green grass and clear water were scattered with verdant trees, standing like stars among the grassland. They were spaced far enough apart from each other not to form a dense forest.
Yuan Ming suddenly uttered a sound of surprise and approached a nearby thicket, waving his hand to part the thick shrubbery and revealing several small green plants that emitted faint fluctuations of spiritual energy.
These small green plants, known as Green Leaf Grass, were not of high grade, but they were genuine Spirit Grass.
He moved to another thicket, and after parting it, revealed a few purple Spiritual Flowers, which were also a kind of low-level Spirit Grass.
Yuan Ming's Divine Sense spread out, his eyes showing a look of disbelief.
This grassland was filled with Spirit Grass and Spiritual Flowers everywhere. Although they were all low-level, the sight was still shocking.
His figure lifted off and landed on a nearby hill. The other side of the hill was also an endless prairie where many beasts roamed.
Closest to him were a herd of plump gray deer, all of which were demon beasts, bowing their heads to forage for the Spirit Grass.
These gray deer were all First-level Demon Beasts, not high in grade but quite numerous. The group before him had at least a hundred individuals.
With Spirit Grass everywhere and herds of demon beasts, Yuan Ming found himself at a loss for words to describe this continent.
Just then, a cloud of dust rose from the distance, and amidst the rolling dust approached a type of Bone Horned Horse, with large horns on their heads, grey fur, and white manes. Their bone-hooves were pale, and though horse-like in shape, their eyes flashed with ferocity as they charged directly at the gray deer.
The deer immediately fled, but unfortunately, their speed was no match for the Bone Horned Horses. Many of the deer were impaled by the horses' horns and fell into pools of blood.
There were a dozen Bone Horned Horses, most of them Second-level Middle Stage demon beasts, but three reached the Second Rank Upper Stage, and there was a leader at the Third-level Lower Stage, all of which were larger than the other Bone Horned Horses.
In a matter of moments, the dozen or so Bone Horned Horses scattered and hunted the entire herd of deer, devouring their flesh, revealing that these horses were carnivorous as they gnawed on the bodies of the gray deer.
The Bone Horned Horse King sensed Yuan Ming's presence. Their carnivorous nature drove them to advance, yet they hesitated, snorting loudly while loitering in the distance.
"Wow, a Third-level Bone Horned Horse, I didn't expect to be so lucky to find such good items upon our arrival here," Long Chong and his companions flew over and saw the figure of the beast, becoming excited at once.
"Brother Long, is this Bone Horned Horse really rare?" Yuan Ming asked, puzzled.
Long Chong smiled and explained, "Heh heh, Brother Yuan may not know, the Bone Horned Horse itself isn't anything special. Their horns are used to refine Healing Pills, leading many islands to establish ranches specifically to breed such demon beasts, even my own family owns an island dedicated to raising them."
Yuan Ming grew increasingly curious, "Then why does Brother Long say it's a good find?"
"Because the Bone Horned Horse is commonly recognized for its mixed bloodlines, not to mention third-level, ordinary ranches scarcely see any that reach the Second Rank Upper Stage. Only at my Thousand Dragon Island, having made considerable achievements in refining bloodlines, have we been able to breed a Third-level Bone Horned Horse. This also revealed that upon reaching the third-level, the Bone Horned Horse's singular horn undergoes a transformation; its previous bone-healing effect shifts to bone strengthening. The Bone Forging Blood Pills refined from this have the miraculous effect of strengthening bones and tendons, which is particularly helpful for Body Cultivation practitioners to break through the Innate Body realm," Long Chong elaborated with pride.
Yuan Ming nodded thoughtfully. He was currently cultivating the third layer of the Demon Image Prison Suppression Skill and felt somewhat tempted by the elixir Long Chong mentioned.
Seeing Yuan Ming's interest, Long Chong immediately laughed and said, "This Third-level Bone Horned Horse seems to be a mutant species, much larger than normal. Taking its horn should yield enough for four or five bottles. But currently, our Mana is depleted, and that's why those horses hesitated earlier. If we wait any longer, they might flee to avoid danger. How about we jointly attack? You help me block the other Bone Horned Horses for a moment, and I'll handle the leader. Once the pills are refined, I'll share two bottles with you, Brother Yuan."
"Thank you for your generous offer, Brother Long. I'll not stand on ceremony," Yuan Ming responded with a bow of gratitude.
Long Chong waved his hand nonchalantly, then gripped his spear, stirring up the small amount of Mana he had just recovered, and shot towards the Bone Horned Horses.
Yuan Ming followed immediately.
Qiong Yun and Lu, listening to the conversation between Yuan Ming and Long Chong, lacked interest in the Bone Forging Blood Pill. A mere Third-level Bone Horned Horse was not worth their intervention, so they looked on from the sidelines while cultivating to restore their own Mana.
The Bone Horned Horse King, upon seeing Long Chong and Yuan Ming charging, showed a glint of human-like caution in its eyes. Still, it was enticed by the weakened Mana fluctuations emanating from Long Chong and Yuan Ming, and with a loud neigh, it led its henchmen in a charge.
In an instant, the herd thundered across the field, grass flying everywhere as the spiritual light gathered at the tip of the horses' single horn, then quickly joining together to envelop the horses, like a sharp arrow slicing through the plains with an imposing momentum.
This group of Bone Horned Horses was proficient in the Joint Attack Technique, their force synergizing together, and the overall power was no weaker than a Third-level Upper Stage.
