Tamren trembled. A sudden and intense fear gripped him.
Sylia's voice was calm, almost conversational, but carried an unsettling gravity. "The Nights Flock possesses Fate Writers who assist us throughout the entire process. We refer to this place as the Gods' Nightmarish Isekai World. Why? Because those who were once accustomed to abundance in all things are sent to a world ruled by scarcity in all aspects of their new life—from natural resources to Magic. A world where there are so many Churches that they struggle to be recognized. Even former Supreme Gods become nobodies, forced to rely on the generosity of their former allies or their Flock."
She smiled as her gaze fixed on Grenek. "So, tell me, Grenek. Who are you trying to protect?"
With a casual motion, Sylia conjured a Pentagram. From its glowing center, a man appeared, leashed and kneeling at her feet. Sylia held the leash tightly and gestured toward him. The man looked exactly like Jezelius, though his face was streaked with tears.
Grenek automatically shook his head, certain it must be some sort of illusion. Yet instinct urged him to look closer. As his gaze moved from the eyes of his son to those of the identical figure weeping at Sylia's feet, the horrifying truth settled over him. This was no trick.
Dio and Tamren, both silent and motionless, reached the same dreadful conclusion. Suddenly, everything made sense. Sylia was a Divine Being infamous for her utter lack of mercy. How had they ever convinced themselves she would show leniency to her enemies? The Nights Church had long held to the principle that a debt owed to their Gods must be repaid a thousand times over. There were songs and stories that spoke of it. How could they have forgotten?

Sylia laughed, glancing down at the sobbing man beside her. "He is a delightful pet I use for a variety of tasks. I divided him many times so that he could receive proper punishment for every crime he committed, but the main part remains here. See how easily he cries. He feels the pain and grief of his other parts. He tries to warn them, but I keep blocking him. Even if he managed to reach them, the Rewrite Spell would make them forget and believe they are safe from me."
Tamren's body shook violently as two additional figures appeared beside the first, each of them collared and leashed. They were painfully familiar. Dio recoiled, horror washing over him. His son, Gyundon, however, merely chuckled, showing no surprise whatsoever.
"Honey, you brought out your pets?" Gyundon said with a grin.
Dio stared at him, stunned and horrified. The two new figures were none other than the Province's Sovereign Duke and the Region's Lord.
Sylia nodded as if confirming something mundane. "Yes. I divided them then merged a piece of each one with higher beings. These are the main ones I am keeping for fun. Those currently inhabiting their reformed bodies are a mix of corrupted entities. One is primarily a former Lord, and the other a Fallen Supreme God. We did it to enjoy the moment more. Fighting Mortals, even those supported by Gods and Lords, would be too boring and easy. It is far more amusing to trap their supporters within their bodies and merge them all together. That may even offer them a fighting chance and it does cure me of my boredom…to fight worthy opponents."
Her smile did not waver.
"I shall not trouble you with the circumstances that led to their current state. Some were merged multiple times, each fusion the result of further infractions. The truly amusing part is that, even after forgetting nearly everything, they still come after me. The Malevolence always guides them towards that path."
