Los Angeles Legendary Sleuth

Chapter 473: Case Closed (Part 2)

He stepped on the stairs, walking effortlessly to a tombstone on the east side, where Kaya Ray's photo and name were displayed.

Ivony David's eyes were moist, and a touch of tenderness appeared on his face, "My dear, I came to see you and brought your favorite flowers."

Ivony David smelled the jasmine flowers, "The flowers are fragrant, reminding me of your scent. I believe you will certainly like them."

Ivony David placed the jasmine flowers beside the tombstone, "Baby, it's the 302nd day since I left.

I still vividly remember the scene of our last meeting.

You were wearing a white dress when you visited me in prison, like an angel in white, with a faint scent of jasmine on you...

I originally thought I would see you soon, but it turned out to be an eternal farewell."

Tears slid down Ivony David's cheeks, "Not a day goes by that I don't think about you.

I swore to avenge you, and I did it.

I orchestrated a deadly fight between Little William Moses and Danielle Winters; Little William Moses strangled Danielle Winters with handcuffs, and then I shot Little William Moses. They both deserved their fate, and died without injustice.

This is the only thing I could do for you..."

Ivony David spoke many words beside Kaya Ray's tombstone, his tone full of longing and reluctance for Kaya Ray.

After a long time, Ivony David gently touched the tombstone, said goodbye to Kaya Ray, and turned to leave.

His footsteps became much lighter, as if he had let go of a burden.

As Ivony David walked, he stopped and turned his head to glance around, seeing several people approaching him.

Ivony David's expression changed slightly, standing still as he recognized these people; they were detectives from the Robbery and Murder Department.

Luke walked up to Ivony David and said, "You're even better at lying than I imagined."

The first time Luke met Ivony David, he lied a lot. Luke thought it was to conceal stealing Danielle Winters' mother's car, but now it seemed his real aim was to hide the plan to kill Little William Moses and Danielle Winters.

Ivony David retorted, "Why are you here?"

"That's what I'd like to ask. What is your relationship with Kaya Ray?" Luke pointed at the tombstone behind him, "She's listening right there; I imagine you wouldn't lie, would you?"

"She's my girlfriend, my beloved."

Luke raised an eyebrow, "And what about Danielle Winters?"

Ivony David laughed, "Don't try to trick me."

"You're probably unaware, but we arrived at the cemetery before you and installed surveillance and monitoring equipment near Kaya Ray's tombstone. We heard everything you just said, and it has been recorded clearly.

You admitted you orchestrated a deadly fight between Little William Moses and Danielle Winters, and also shot Little William Moses.

Do you need me to play it back for you?"

Ivony David frowned, still a bit unconvinced, "How could you get here before me? I didn't tell anyone I would be coming here."

The deputy said, "We saw you buying jasmine flowers at the florist, and since jasmine is Kaya Ray's favorite, I guessed you might be coming to see Kaya Ray."

Ivony David clapped his hands, "Why didn't you LAPD guys figure out the truth about my girlfriend's murder?"

Black said, "Because her case isn't under our jurisdiction. I know saying that might make you uncomfortable...

But that's the reality.

The Robbery and Murder Department is composed of the elite within the police force."

Luke asked, "Would you like to talk here, or come with us back to the station?"

Ivony David looked at Kaya Ray's tombstone, and after a long moment, slowly said, "I'll go with you."

Afterward, Ivony David was handcuffed and escorted into the police car.

Luke asked, "Where's Little William Moses' body?"

Ivony David laughed, "Aren't you guys quite capable? Why don't you take a guess?"

Luke thought for a moment, considering if he were in Ivony David's shoes how he would handle Little William Moses' body. The BMW that took Little William Moses was abandoned at a rundown warehouse; Danielle Winters' body was found at the dilapidated site. At the time, the police speculated Little William Moses was the killer of Danielle Winters and had likely fled.

Now it seemed Little William Moses hadn't run, and Ivony David wouldn't let him escape. Therefore, the spot where Little William Moses was killed is likely near the abandoned factory, and if Luke were there, he might choose to bury him on site.

"Is Little William Moses' body near the abandoned car spot?"

Ivony David nodded, "As expected of the captain of the Robbery and Murder Department, impressive."

The words sounded somewhat sarcastic, as the police had clearly visited the vicinity but hadn't found Little William Moses' body.

Luke asked, "Weren't you worried we'd find Little William Moses' body?"

Ivony David explained, "Although Little William Moses and Danielle Winters' bodies are near the abandoned car spot, they're in different locations, spaced by some distance.

Thus, you're likely to find one body first, regardless of which body you find first; you would stop to investigate, suspecting the other person as the killer.
