Los Angeles Legendary Sleuth

Chapter 325 Tester

Through the mobile number provided by Mrs. Haney, Luke quickly confirmed the identity of Franco Ture.

Name, Franco Ture

Gender, Male

Skin color, White

Address, 130 Virgin Community.

Social Security number, 623-53-7342

Criminal record, indecency, theft

Luke couldn't believe that the Haneys would actually trust their daughter with such a person.

Through mobile tracking, the police quickly determined Franco Ture's location.

...

Zaparo Motel.

The mobile's location was at this motel, and Luke brought people to the vicinity of the motel.

Darky looked at the motel not far away, "Doesn't he have a trailer? Why did he go to a motel again?"

"You can ask him yourself in a bit."

Luke started to organize the arrest, with Raymond leading the patrol officers around the motel to keep watch, while Luke led his team to make the arrest.

Jackson approached the motel front desk and inquired whether Franco Ture had checked in; he learned that indeed, Franco Ture had checked into the motel that afternoon, and was staying in room 205.

Subsequently, Luke led his team to room 205, the windows were curtained and the lights inside were on, making it impossible to see inside.

Luke asked the motel staff to help knock on the door,

"Knock knock..."

There was no response from inside the room.

"Hello, room service."

Still no response.

Luke didn't break in directly but asked over the walkie-talkie, "Raymond, did you find that trailer?"

"No, no such trailer has been found around the motel."

"I see," Luke then pulled the staffer aside, "Are you sure the person in the room hasn't left?"

The staffer shook his head, "I don't know; I can only confirm that he hasn't checked out."

"Give me the room card, you can go."

"Yes, sir."

After Luke got the room card, he signaled to everyone to move in and then swiped the card to open the door.

Darky led the charge into the room, "LAPD!"

"No one's found."

"Nobody's in the bathroom either!"

Luke holstered his gun and began searching the room, where a partially eaten meal box sat on the coffee table, the bed was somewhat disheveled, and two pairs of disposable slippers were scattered on the floor.

Luke went into the bathroom to check and found water on the floor and toiletries, suggesting someone had taken a shower.

Jenny found a mobile phone under the coffee table, "Captain, Franco Ture deliberately left the phone in the motel, he must have known we were coming."

Jackson was puzzled, "That doesn't make sense, how would he know we were coming to catch him? Unless he rented this motel specifically as a trap for us."

Darky said, "He rented the room at five in the afternoon, which should be earlier than when we decided to arrest him.

But I can't figure out, if he has a trailer, why rent a motel room as well."

Luke said, "I've used a trailer before, and although trailer traveling is quite comfortable, there are some downsides, most trailer bathrooms are incredibly cramped and water storage is limited, making showers very inconvenient.

Most people shower before playing poker, they probably used this place as a bath and poker room."

Darky sighed, "That said, that pervert really did target Tayana Haney.

But why did he run away in advance? Could someone have leaked the news beforehand?"

Luke instructed, "Jenny, contact the tech department, check if anyone has been in contact with Franco Ture recently."

Jenny asked back, "Captain, do you want the tech team to come over?"

"Have them send someone to inspect the scene."

"Yes, sir."

Luke's eyes swept over the motel, finally resting on the messy bed, from his experience, something probably happened there.

Luke thought of the time he and Daisy were secretly filmed in a hotel.

"Turn off the lights, check if there are any micro-cameras in the room."

Reminded by Luke, everyone started searching the room.

The team members meticulously searched every corner of the room, but found no place where cameras seemed to be installed.

Jenny walked into the room from outside and said, "Captain, just as you guessed, twenty minutes before we came to the motel, Franco Ture's phone received a call.

As for the caller... we just met them."

Luke speculated, "Mrs. Haney?"

Jenny shook her head, "No, it was her husband, Clement Haney."

Darky looked puzzled, "The victim's father calls the suspect who may have kidnapped his daughter, allowing the suspect time to flee with his own daughter; what kind of move is that?

This case is getting more and more incomprehensible."

Jackson sighed, "I really feel sorry for Tayana Haney, to end up with such irresponsible parents."

After pondering for a moment, Luke rearranged the direction of the investigation, with Raymond in charge of tracking down the suspicious trailer.

Luke took the others back to Tayana Haney's home.

...

Half an hour later.

Luke led his team back to Virgin Community again.

"Knock knock..." Jenny knocked on the door of Tayana Haney's house again.

After a moment, Mrs. Haney opened the door and asked, "Officer, did you find my daughter?"

Jenny coldly said, "You should ask your husband that."

"What do you mean?" Mrs. Haney looked puzzled.

Luke inquired, "Madam, where is Clement Haney?"

"In the living room."

"I want to see him."

Mrs. Haney stepped aside, "Please come in.

Captain Lee, what exactly is going on, is my daughter in danger?"

"You should ask your husband, maybe he knows better."
