Chapter 677: I Will Make Sure You Die Without Regrets

The Ghost Prophet had no Divine Being in life.

The only Divine Being he ever possessed, 'Second Cycle,' vanished completely after use. Although his life restarted smoothly, the Prophet's advantages waned as his strength grew, depleting entirely at the Demigod Rank.

Furthermore, even though he advanced the Prophetic Faction to the Demigod Realm, he repeatedly faced obstacles and bad luck, losing opportunities to others despite meticulous planning.

In hundreds of years of striving for godhood, he contended for Divine Beings dozens of times but achieved nothing.

It wasn't until the Ghost Prophet elevated the Time Faction to the Demigod Realm that he subtly understood: using the 'Second Cycle' Divine Being to relive his life had too severe and profound an impact, glaringly obvious. Like a fish in a river, small downstream changes might remain harmless; but swimming against the current and causing ripples would accumulate into overwhelming waves, sweeping the fish away.

Initially, the Ghost Prophet seized the opportunity to eliminate all geniuses, relishing it, yet the ripple effects compounded over time, manifesting once he couldn't grasp the future. Simply put, his luck soured, and any benefits slipped through his hands to others.

However, as an Evil Mage, the Ghost Prophet naturally wouldn't regret his actions but sought new paths to persevere.

For a Demigod Mage, Divine Beings make the best Law Catalysts, but without them, one can still cast Wonders.

Concepts and World Secret Domains can both replace Divine Beings to arouse the Power of Laws!

After decades of planning, the Ghost Prophet finally killed the twelfth master of Dream Heaven, becoming the thirteenth owner. Although Dream Heaven was broken, some Secret Realm powers remained. Thus, he devoted himself to research, using Dream Heaven to create numerous Wonders, even developing a prophetic Wonder: Premonition Dream!

It was due to the most crucial prophecy in the Premonition Dream that the Ghost Prophet resolutely abandoned mere survival to choose resurrection in the future.

But resurrection itself is a Wonder, even more so for a Demigod? The Ghost Prophet studied until life's end, finally entering the Fate Faction, discovering the fate imprint protection—originating from the Second Cycle Divine Being's Law of Fate!

As a one-time Divine Being, the Second Cycle not only included Time Laws to return him to the past but also inscribed the Law of Fate on him, helping him resist the ripple effect's backlash.

Without the fate imprint's protection, the Ghost Prophet would have faced severe backlash during his mortal days for hunting geniuses. This fate imprint delayed these repercussions until the Demigod era, gradually emerging until dissipating upon death.

Utilizing the fate imprint's might combined with Dream Heaven's Law Power, the Ghost Prophet finally created a resurrection Wonder: Second Dream Walk Soul Refining Taboo!

His confrontation with two thousand Holy Domains earlier was to affix vengeful spirits to mages and deplete the Holy Domain's magic power. The less magic power they had, the harder it was to resist this Wonder. The black ball itself, made of vengeful spirits, trapped mages who couldn't escape its fate.

The Wonder's effect is bizarre, plunging the recipient into a dream, reliving life anew! Of course, without future memories, they follow their original fate path, experiencing life once more.

Yet, regardless of their life paths, within their dreams, the event of the Ghost Prophet's resurrection occurs, and, at the right moment, they encounter the Ghost Prophet's assault, ultimately being no exception to his possession and replacement!

With a lifetime in the dream as prelude, they naturally believe they truly become the Ghost Prophet. Then, as the ghost's will extract and reconstitute their soul, no rejection arises.

More significantly, willing for Soul Refining, their magic knowledge also becomes the ghost's legacy!

With two thousand Holy Domains as a foundation, despite losing some knowledge, he effortlessly evolves into an All Magic proficient modern mage!

Thus, this Wonder is essentially two steps: Second Dream Walk and Soul Refining Taboo!

Of course, this is merely the first resurrection stage. To completely resurrect, one must venture to Hell and recover lost soul fragments.

As the ghost's will pondered, the Second Dream Walk ended. He flew to Dream Heaven's center to execute the Soul Refining Taboo.

Walala...

All Holy Sanctuary Mages, hanging like sacrificial offerings, opened their mouths, and clusters of soul essence surged from their eyes and mouths, converging on the ghost's will like thousands of tributaries.

These souls, from different races, genders, magics, and personalities, now perfectly merged as if from one source, continually restructuring within the ghost's will's body.

The ghost's will sighed inwardly.

If it were post-Endgame, venturing to Hell or any task would be far more convenient, at least a new cycle of Divine Lords would emerge, then no one would remember the Ghost Prophet... now facing 'old acquaintances' blockade, devising means to endure the Endgame, this is truly...

Blame that survivable Source Angel.

As the Soul Refining Taboo reached the latter stages, and the Holy Sanctuary members reduced to mere thin phantoms, the ghost's will suddenly lifted his head, seeing a mage in the distance emanating starlight.

Dazzling, radiant starlight.

The ghost's will's eyes widened—Star Cluster Concept!?

The next second, a starry sky emerged above the dim Dream Heaven. The soul connections between the Holy Sanctuary Mages and the ghost's will instantaneously disintegrated under the starlight.

The Holy Sanctuary Mages awoke as if from a dream, yet after living a dream life, they struggled to regain their senses. Their consciousness remained immersed in rapidly fading dream recalls, minds trapped in life's three great questions: 'Who am I?', 'Where am I?', 'What am I doing?'

Soon, starlight entered their minds, dispelling confusion and drowsiness, incessantly healing their souls, and illuminating their path: destroy the ghost's will!

"It's the Dazzling Star Magic Master! The Magic Master intervened!"

"We almost died silently..."

"Your Dazzling Star's Divine Lord already took action, why not break through Dream Heaven? Why leave us trapped here?"

"Watch your tone!"

"Because the ghost's will gained souls." Baiyu shook his head, shaking off extraneous dream memories, and said, "If Dream Heaven is shattered, he could still escape. Therefore, not only will the Dazzling Star's Divine Lord avoid breaking Dream Heaven, but they will also seal it from the outside."

"How do we escape then?"

"Only by destroying the ghost's will. This starry sky continuously replenishing our soul energy and magic power is to better urge us on." Evil Omen stared at the ghost's will, asking, "Did you previously cross paths with the Dazzling Star's leader?"

The ghost's will was expressionless: "The twelfth owner of Dream Heaven is named Starlight Angel."

After a brief silence, the war between the Holy Domain and Demigods erupted once more.

...

...

When the Sword Maiden and Witch were transported back to the Golden Hall, Ash immediately moved forward to hug them tightly, Weiser turned around and gritted his teeth questioning the Nightmare: "Why did you save them only now!?"

Ash and Weiser never knew what was happening outside until the Sword Witch's soul was extracted. Due to the chain reaction of dreaming while sharing a bed, they vaguely sensed their companions were in trouble.

Now seeing the confused expression of the Sword Witch, not only Ash, but even Weiser felt a fire of anger burning within, enough to disregard everything and summoned the Technique Spirit to target the Nightmare!

Ash, not knowing when, had drawn a sharp sword and leaned it against his side. He sat holding Sonia and Diya, the Heart Sword's faint light entwined and danced around them, as if bringing a touch of warmth.

"They were just under the control of the ghost's will, bringing them back would expose secrets here." The Nightmare calmly said, "However, outside no longer requires them to delay time."

Weiser's gaze turned cold, "If needed, would you still let them continue to delay time?"

"Of course." The Nightmare said, "Everything prioritizes the Nightmare God Spirits."

Weiser closed her mouth, turned to squat down and watched Ash and the others. She and Ash exchanged a look, both made up their minds.

"Cough, cough."

Diya suddenly coughed twice, her eyes gradually shimmering. Because she and the Sword Maiden were in the black sphere, they did not receive the support of the Starlight, only now waking up.

"Nightmare, reduce my soul limit for the benefit of all." Ash calmly said.

"As you wish."

After the Nightmare cast its spell, Ash took a deep breath to ease his pain. He turned his head, seeing the Witch staring blankly at him, the corner of his mouth revealing a slight smile: "It's okay now, I'm here."

"Hmm."

The Witch reached out to encircle his neck, gently leaning on his shoulder, "You'll protect me, you're the real one."

Ash laughed: "Is there a fake Observer?"

"Not only a fake Observer, but a fake Witch too." Diya hugged him tightly: "Fortunately, they're all fake, we're the real ones."

Feeling the trembling of the Witch, Ash felt something in his heart, gently kissed her forehead, then pressed his forehead against hers, "Don't worry, what you fear won't happen."

Diya nodded deeply, then slowly relaxed.

At this moment, the Sword Maiden suddenly made a whining noise, Ash looked over and saw the Sword Maiden had tears in her eyes, a bewildered and aggrieved expression, like a child left at kindergarten.

"Sword Maiden?"

"Observer!" Sonia sniffed, directly squeezed Diya aside, hugged Ash, emitting a boiling whine, "I, I almost died——"

She lowered her head grabbing Ash's clothes, her throat made a broken sound of sobbing: "I'm so scared."

Ash was slightly stunned, only then realizing something.

This was indeed the Sword Maiden's first encounter with a life crisis.

Unlike him, who usually brushed past death god risking joint aches from it, the Sword Maiden lived in school, with the most dangerous activity just being competitions, but those were protected by Miracles, no matter how severe the injuries, one could be rescued.

Though encountering some chases in the Void Realm, they cautiously made it through, never getting to the point of facing death directly. Besides, no matter the danger, he was by the Sword Maiden's side.

But this time, the Sword Maiden almost died, silently, unknowingly, not even leaving a last word.

"Don't be afraid." Ash softly said, "I'm afraid too."

"Do you remember what you promised me?" Sonia sniffled.

"Too many, which one?"

"You promised to come to the Dazzling Star." Sonia looked up, tears in her eyes, watching him: "You'll have lots of trouble entering the Dazzling Star, if I go out with you there'll be lots of danger... but more than these, I'm more afraid of not being with you."

"I don't want to die with so many regrets."

Such a childish thought...

Ash couldn't help but laugh. But he also understood, when one first encounters the great terror between life and death, it indeed strongly impacts one's worldview, easily stirring thoughts and emotions not usually present.

He looked at Sonia still deeply lost in emotion and kissed the corner of her eyes and tears.

"I will strive to let you die without regrets."

Stretching a paw, the Sword Saint was stunned, reason dragged back by this sentence.
