Chapter 722: Lord Zhan Must Die

Ash walked behind Silver Lamp, placed a hand on her shoulder, and explained the significant implications of Lord Zhan's arrangement for their escape plan to her, then said:

"...That's wonderful. You'll not only become an Angel under Lord Senluo but also, thanks to you, both Lord Senluo and the Senluoians are saved. You no longer need to prove yourself with destruction. From now on, your name will stand alongside theirs. All beings will be grateful to you, Lord Zhan will commend you, and the crown of honor will forever rest upon you."

Weiser listened with dreamy eyes, nodding repeatedly: "You're right. I've walked the path I needed, fought the battles I had to, and reached the place I was destined for. It's time to enjoy the fruits of my labor..."

"Yes, exactly, so—"

"Deception? Hm? I didn't expect you to learn the essential skills of villains now." Weiser's expression suddenly changed. She glanced at him sideways, the dreamy look vanished, leaving only a faint mockery: "Although it was quite effective, I'm well-versed in the Spirit Faction myself. Do you think you can control my thoughts?"

Ash's face froze. This was his first time using the "Minstrel's Speech" proactively in reality. Under the influence of the Minstrel's Speech, anyone would instinctively believe his words, yet Silver Lamp saw through it immediately—what rubbish Seven-colored Blessing, I want a refund!

In fact, Weiser wasn't sure if Ash's words triggered the Minstrel's Speech, but she suspected he had such an idea, so she deliberately brought it up to expose him. It wasn't particularly meaningful, but it was fun to bully Ash with the information gap.

"Don't worry."

Weiser collected her smile and calmly said, "Even though I'm a religious fanatic, I'm not that crazy. Since Lord Zhan offers me so many benefits, I won't persist in the belief of destruction any longer, not to mention with three Divine Beings present, even if I wanted to be impulsive, I have to remain calm."

"There will be other opportunities to achieve angelhood," she said. "Reality is an ephemeral illusion, but I only have one life within it, and I can't squander it on impulsive folly. I need to save it for more critical times."

Ash let out a sigh of relief—he was genuinely afraid Silver Lamp would forsake her position just to see fireworks and insist on setting the Kingdom of Senluo ablaze.

While they were discussing, the three Divine Beings remained silent. Once they finished their conversation, Fire Cat suddenly jumped up, raised his right hand, and asked, "Have you finished talking? Can we proceed to the next step?"

Weiser nodded: "What's the next step? What other arrangements does Lord Zhan have?"

"Lord Zhan instructed us to announce His message, but there are no further arrangements," Whitedove said. "However, we will restrict you from acquiring more portions of the Dream Master and forbid your Dream Master permissions."

Weiser frowned slightly: "Why?"

"The more portions of the Dream Master you acquire, the more areas of the Land of Senluo will collapse. This will cause more Senluoians to die and become displaced, triggering their battles; your Dream Master permissions allow you to penetrate the boundary between dreams and reality, initiating the 'Great Collapse,' leading directly to an irreparable apocalypse for living beings," Whitedove said. "To safeguard the life of the Senluoians, we must perform the Taboo ritual on you."

Ash and Weiser exchanged a glance; it sounded reasonable, even a bit moving—they cared so much about the safety of mortals—but there was a problem here.

"I can understand forbidding the Dream Master permissions, but restricting the acquisition of Dream Master portions, wouldn't Lord Zhan still bear the consumption of the Senluo dreamscape?" Ash asked curiously. "Isn't He trying to free up resources to heal Himself?"

The three Divine Beings didn't even look at Ash, gazing calmly at Weiser. It wasn't until Weiser asked the same question that Whitedove answered: "Yes, but the lives of the Senluoians are the top priority now. Inheritor, please cooperate."

Ash thought for a moment and said softly to Weiser: "Although it's a bit odd, it's understandable. Perhaps Lord Zhan's usual commands to them are to prioritize protecting the Senluoians. But now, the usual commands and Lord Zhan's specific command to transfer Dream Master portions to you conflict, so they still proceed with the regular commands."

"No need to resist; they're just executing orders. Anyway, you've already triggered the apocalypse's precursor, fulfilling the prerequisites for the escape plan."

Weiser nodded, too. Compared to Lord Zhan's legacy, this minor episode wasn't worth mentioning. Also, facing these three Divine Beings who walked out of history, having listened to their stories since childhood, Weiser was reluctant to engage in conflicts with them over non-interest-related issues.

Ash estimated the Taboo ritual was confidential knowledge, making it inconvenient for him to stay, so he prepared to leave through the Fog Gate and quickly return to the upper levels to share the good news with Igula and the others.

However, before leaving, he thought about how these three Divine Beings valued the Senluoians so highly and wondered if he could enlist them in the plan: "I'm planning to inform the Senluoians of the apocalypse, urging them to flee Senluo. Can the three of you appear on the surface and announce the news that Lord Zhan is gravely injured and dying, and Senluo is falling into an apocalypse countdown?"

As soon as he finished speaking, he remembered that in the eyes of these three Divine Beings, he didn't exist, only the Inheritor Silver Lamp did, and turned to ask Silver Lamp to repeat it.

However, at this moment, the three Divine Beings turned simultaneously, staring intently at Ash.

Fire Cat: "You want the Senluoians to flee Senluo?"

Ash was puzzled and nodded: "Yes. But I don't have that ability. Still, with the apocalypse precursor already showing, and with the help of the Sky Gate Concept, I just need to give a little push and tell them the correct use of the Sky Gate Technique Spirit, and they'll know how to escape."

Blue Bird: "No, you cannot."

Ash was stunned, "Why not?"

Whitedove walked up to Ash and explained, "If the Senluoians leave, the consumption to maintain the Land of Senluo will plummet because the Senluoians are the 'subject' of Senluo. Areas that Senluoians can't perceive are almost indistinguishable from reality until observed by Senluoians, and Lord Zhan will cover them with the power of the dream."

Ash was a bit confused: "Isn't that a good thing? With decreased consumption, wouldn't Lord Zhan be able to free up more resources to heal Himself?"

"Of course, that's not a good thing," Fire Cat shouted, "That would trouble us a lot!"

At this point, Weiser finally sensed something amiss. Her face turned pale as she sprinted over, shouting, "Ash—"

As soon as Weiser made a sound, Ash had already unfurled his Void Wings and retreated rapidly, covering himself with the Holy Domain, attempting to directly escape into the Fog Gate!

But it was no use.

Whitedove thrust her staff forward. The tip of the staff pierced through the Holy Domain, through the skull, through the brain, and out the back of the head. This thrust utterly transcended reality, like the number pi, like an object that moves in uniform straight motion unaffected by external forces, with reality having to operate under such Laws.

"If the Senluoians leave, Lord Zhan might survive," Whitedove said. "This isn't good."

"Lord Zhan must die."
