Blood Holy Scripture: True Ancestor Charlotte de Castel

Chapter 99: The Secret of the Guardian's Staff (Part 2)

Sebastian's heart stirred:

"Master, are you planning to let Nisi and me take advantage of your rescue to sneak into the Ninth Judgement Court?"

Charlotte nodded slightly:

"The Heretic Witch Judge is one of the most severe trials of the Holy Royal Court. With such a verdict, the Ninth District Judgement Court will surely take it seriously, but in response, their defenses might become lax."

"And if we wait until after the rescue is over, they might instead become wary. With strengthened guards, you might find it difficult to infiltrate, and some secrets may even be transferred or destroyed in advance."

After listening to Charlotte's words, Sebastian and Nisi also wore solemn expressions and respectfully saluted:

"We will follow your Oracle!"

"Oh, by the way, where is that little girl now?"

Charlotte asked again.

"We have settled her in a hotel in the Holy Capital, with knights assigned to protect her."

Sebastian responded.

"Hmm, take good care of her. A child going through so much must be terrified."

Charlotte instructed.

...

After receiving new orders from Charlotte, Sebastian and Nisi withdrew.

Charlotte paused for a moment, then looked at an empty seat beside her:

"Guardian's Staff, don't you have anything you'd like to explain to me?"

The Holy Power spread continuously, and the phantom figure of the Guardian's Staff slowly emerged.

It bowed respectfully to Charlotte:

"True Ancestor, what do you want to know? I don't quite understand your meaning..."

Charlotte chuckled lightly and her gaze turned scrutinizing:

"Guardian's Staff, you might fool Sebastian and Nisi, but you can't fool me."

"Tell me, is this your doing? Did you know right from the start that the secret of the Sun Divine Palace was in the Ninth District Judgement Court? Did you maintain a connection with the priest right from the beginning? Did you plan from the start to guide Sebastian and Nisi to investigate the Ninth District?"

"Why would you say that?"

The Guardian's Staff asked in surprise.

Charlotte snorted and said:

"It was your suggestion for Sebastian and Nisi's investigation route. Not only that, but despite their different channels and methods, they both ended up tracing back to the Ninth District Judgement Court."

"I observed and understood that leading them to finally investigate the Judgement Court were those priests they just 'happened' to encounter during their research. If no one was guiding them behind the scenes, I wouldn't believe it at all."

"Of course, the most crucial factor is this necklace."

Saying that, Charlotte picked up the Ring Cross necklace:

"Precognitive Dreams aren't something that can be achieved by any artifact; to foresee fate, one must possess the corresponding Law."

"Just like how the Nais Clan's Observation works, enabling them to foresee the future and even make predictions due to the Law of Fate contained within the Observation Path."

"Similarly, Holy Power is an extension of Primordial Power, which is the root of all laws, meaning Holy Power also possesses the power of the Law of Fate."

"But this necklace is different."

"Nisi believes it to be a Divine Artifact because Nisi is not mythical, but I can discern its essence."

"It... is merely a conduit for transmitting Divine Arts."

"In other words, someone uses this necklace to grant the ability of 'Precognitive Dreams' to the girl, to the orphanage's director!"

"Indeed, it possesses a Primordial Aura, but... it is not the Primordial Aura of the Sun God Helios."

"Its Primordial Aura is purer and clearer."

"I only sensed a similar aura in three beings."

"One is myself, another is my disciple Haral, who has awakened Holy Power, and the other one..."

Saying that, Charlotte looked at the Guardian's Staff:

"Do I need to be clearer?"

The Guardian's Staff fell into silence.

"Guardian's Staff, I need an explanation."

Charlotte's expression grew significantly colder.

The Guardian's Staff sighed:

"True Ancestor, do you... have to pursue this?"

"Can I not? Since you want me to rescue Haral, you shouldn't hide secrets. You clearly know more than I anticipated, and I even suspect now whether you already know what the conspiracy of the Sun Divine Palace is."

"You know the intelligence but conceal it, and still wish to guide me and my followers deliberately. Do you consider me a Mythical being who tolerates deceit?"

By this point, Charlotte's voice rose slightly.

Her pupils suddenly transformed into a golden-red color, and terrifying Divine Mighty descended, directly intimidating the projection of the Guardian's Staff, while perfectly containing the divine presence within the room.

Under the horrifying pressure, the luminescence of the Guardian's Staff flickered chaotically, and the humanoid features of its illusion displayed pallor and anguish.

"True...True Ancestor...no, Savior, I mean no harm...I...just can't say, nor am I able to speak... I must follow... follow my orders."

The Guardian's Staff said through clenched teeth.

"Your orders? Is it Haral instructing you? How much have you actually kept hidden? What's your real intent?"

Charlotte asked with a cold face.

"I... I merely wish to save my Master, to save you, to save everything. I have not betrayed my Master, nor have I betrayed you..."

The Guardian's Staff replied with difficulty.

"Hah, if you wish to save Haral, you should tell me everything you know. I don't understand why you would hide things, or is it that there's a Prohibition on you?"

"No, you have no Prohibition. If there was, I would have sensed it the moment I strengthened the connection between you and the Holy Royal Court through Faith."

"You indeed have no Prohibition, yet you say nothing. And so, do you expect me to continue trusting you?"

Charlotte's voice turned serious and cold.

She looked at the figure, Divine Power slowly blooming, her voice growing authoritative:

"Tell me, what are you hiding?"

This time, Charlotte directly utilized Decree Divine Art.

The Guardian's Staff appeared in pain.

Yet it still gritted its teeth:

"I...I can't say! Truly can't say!"

"True Ancestor, my loyalty has never wavered, but what cannot be said... genuinely can't be revealed to you! At least... not now!"

"This is the price... the price of altering fate... also the cost of deceiving destiny!"

"I... I must act this way, only by doing so can we steer history, only by doing so can we deceive the world!"

"Otherwise... we... we will ultimately fail again! Swallowed by fate!"

By the end, the voice of the Guardian's Staff trembled, and its expression grew maniacal.

Charlotte was slightly stunned.

She looked at the Guardian's Staff with an inexplicable expression, half-jokingly, half-doubtfully murmured:

"Steer history? Deceive destiny? Ha, as if what we are experiencing now is also history..."

But this time, the Guardian's Staff did not respond, instead maintaining silence.

Charlotte's voice quickly ceased as well.

She, too, fell into silence.
