Heaven Slaying Blade

Chapter 732: Is This Possible?

Because the sect was so large, a map was an absolute necessity.

And so, unbeknownst to anyone, Chu Mo managed to find the Black Jail of the Lingyue Sect.

Its location was extremely remote within the Lingyue Sect, and without a map, Chu Mo would have probably had a hard time finding it without some difficulties.

At this moment, Chu Mo was filled with gratitude towards the Versatile Taoist. If not for this generous gift, without the Versatile Technique, infiltrating the Lingyue Sect would have been very difficult!

Even with the most sophisticated Disguise Technique, even if no flaws were detected, a stranger's face in the Lingyue Sect would sooner or later be noticed.

The area around the Black Jail was extremely desolate, with scarce spirit energy, bare mountains all around, filled with huge rocks.

Chu Mo frowned slightly. The spirit energy throughout the Lingyue Sect was abundant, but here... it was very different. This made Chu Mo feel a little strange.

Just then, his Spirit Meditation began to emit faint waves. As Chu Mo got closer to the Black Jail, the waves grew stronger.

Chu Mo was momentarily stunned, thinking, could there be some kind of treasure here?

He then used the Technique of Energy Observation from the Fengshui Divine Art to observe the mountains.

Upon inspection, he discovered that this place was not devoid of spirit energy! In fact, the amount of spirit energy here was not much less than other parts of the Lingyue Sect. But the moment any spirit energy appeared, it would immediately be absorbed by some force.

This would lead to a shortage and over time, the place would appear desolate and lifeless.

Could it be that there's some sort of fantastic treasure hidden here?

Chu Mo couldn't help but feel happy at the thought.

The real Black Jail was about thirty miles ahead.

The security here was very strong, yet very concealed. If Chu Mo hadn't just used the Technique of Energy Observation, it would be difficult to detect the unique energy signatures of these people.

Every individual has a unique aura, and the stronger their cultivation, the stronger their aura.

It's like a prominent person who will be the focus of attention wherever they go. That's the kind of unique aura they emit.

However, if they deliberately suppress their aura, it would be difficult for ordinary people to perceive it.

Even cultivators would struggle to sense the hidden aura of those much stronger than them. However, the Technique of Energy Observation is unique to the Fengshui Divine Art.

Even if someone tries to conceal their aura, their position would display different characteristics under the Technique of Energy Observation.

"Are they fishing for me?" Chu Mo wondered.

The more he thought about it, the more probable it seemed. As the Patriarch couldn't find him and was certain that he was hiding in the Lingyue Sect, he captured Fang Lan and put her here.

If "Lu Tianming" was indeed here, he wouldn't abandon his disciple and might risk coming to save her.

"This move may not be sophisticated, but it is effective." Chu Mo thought.

And then, he turned around and left.

Having located the Black Jail today, there was no need for him to sneak in rashly. Once he appeared at the entrance of the Black Jail, unless he could become invisible, he would be discovered for sure!

So, Chu Mo went straight back to a small town about a hundred miles from the Black Jail.

This town was inhabited by the families of bottom-rung members of the Lingyue Sect. Many people were born here and, apart from being under the jurisdiction of the Lingyue Sect, everything else was more or less the same as any regular town.

Chu Mo's current attire was that of an outer disciple and it didn't seem out of place here.

There were many outer disciples around here. Since they didn't know each other, they would only nod to each other as a greeting when they met. Most of the time, they didn't even greet each other.

Chu Mo casually found a tavern, walked in, ordered a few dishes, a jug of wine, and began to pour himself drinks.

The tavern was not very busy at the moment, with just a few tables occupied.

At one table, there sat three young men all dressed as outer disciples of the Lingyue Sect. They seemed pretty intoxicated, their faces flushed.

"Two senior brothers, here's a toast to you!" A young man around twenty years of age, with handsome features and slightly glazed eyes, toasted to the other two men with a grin, "Let's drink up!"

"Junior brother, tonight is our turn to deliver food to the jail. Don't drink too much and end up messing up our task, we could be punished for that." One of the older outer disciples advised.

"Scared? Why?" The good-looking young man scoffed, "That girl is marked for death! She won't starve to death if she misses a meal."

"Haha, Junior Brother Zhou is the son of an elder, of course, you have nothing to fear. But we two… we're a bit afraid." Another outer disciple laughed, raising his cup to clink with the young man's before downing it.

The handsome young man laughed bitterly, "So what if I'm the elder's son? Are the two senior brothers also mocking me? I'm just an illegitimate child. If I were his legitimate son, would I still be struggling within the outer gates?"

"Junior Brother Zhou, don't be like this. No matter what, Elder Zhou will not ignore you. After this incident, it's only a matter of time before Junior Brother Zhou gets promoted to the inner gate." The older outer disciple said.

The other outer disciple nodded, "That's right. The two of us got this duty because of Junior Brother Zhou. I'll drink to you!"

The three of them kept drinking, chatting quietly amongst themselves.

Chu Mo overheard every word and thought: so, these three men will be delivering food to Fang Lan in the Black Jail tonight? It seems... I can take advantage of this opportunity.

Thinking about this, Chu Mo started observing Junior Brother Zhou's behavior.

The illegitimate son of an elder of the Lingyue Sect, huh? You're the one, then!

The trio drank for a while longer, then left the bar and walked into a small inn nearby.

The inn wasn't large, with about seven or eight single courtyard rooms. The three of them each went into a separate courtyard. It seemed they had made arrangements earlier.

Chu Mo was puzzled. One courtyard room was enough for the three of them since each room had at least three separate guest rooms. Just for resting, they booked three courtyard rooms. Was that necessary?

Then, after a moment, Chu Mo saw three flamboyantly-dressed women enter the courtyard rooms.

Chu Mo was left dumbstruck on the wooden bench by the street, mouth agape. It was only after the three women disappeared into the courtyard rooms that he came back to his senses, his mouth twitching, "Is that even possible?"
