"Why is there this strange feeling coming from you?"
I was confused when I heard Iris say this, but she didn't seem like she was going to give up with how she came over to me.
Since we were both in human form, it really was strange how Iris was acting.
After all, she had come right up to me and was even sniffing my body as if she was some kind of dog.
I didn't say anything in the end since I was curious why she was acting this way.
But it didn't seem like Iris was able to find anything in the end as she moved away with a confused look still on her face.
"What is it that you're feeling?" I asked when she moved away from me.
Iris didn't say anything at first as she looked at me with the same confused look on her face. Only I could tell from the way that her eyes looked at me, it seemed like she was thinking about how she would describe this.
After a long moment of silence, she tilted her head and slowly said, "If I had to describe it…it's this strange sense of kinship?"
"Kinship?" This time, it was my turn to be confused as I repeated this in a confused voice
Iris slowly gave a nod, but the look of confusion on her face made it clear that she still had no idea what she was even talking about.
After another silence, she finally said, "It's this strange feeling of kinship. Almost like the feeling that I get from other dragons." Then after a pause, she added, "Of course, it's a kind of kinship that also comes with superiority."
She suddenly revealed a proud look as she said, "It's clear that my dragon bloodline is purer than whatever the thing giving off the sense of kinship is."
Once Iris said this, I slowly started to connect the dots.
"Could it be that dragon meat that I swallowed?" I thought to myself.
It was possible that she was feeling kinship because of the impure blood red dragon that I swallowed, but there was a part of me that was doubtful of this.
After all, I had never had a drop of the dragon's blood in the first place.
The blood essence that contained the impure red dragon bloodline had all been used to refine Conan's body.
The only thing that I had eaten was the flesh of the impure blood red dragon.
But then again…
"The blood is created by the cells of the dragon's body and that is what I swallowed, so could it be that there was more blood that was left in the parts that I ate. Then that would mean that I had swallowed a small part of the bloodline?"
It really seemed like a stretch, but that was the only way that I could explain what Iris was feeling.
"Does it bother you?" I suddenly asked Iris this question.
Iris didn't answer right away as she tilted her head like she was thinking about it.
After thinking for a bit, she suddenly shook her head and said, "It's not a problem at all. Rather, it makes me feel even closer to you."
When she said this, she even moved closer and looked at me with a strange look.
I already knew that she was interested in me because of the handsome appearance that I had when I took human form. But now it seemed like she was even more interested in me, like there was some kind of attraction on a biological level.
I just hoped that she would be able to hold herself back…
To distract her, I said with a simple nod, "Then there isn't a problem, right?"
Iris didn't say anything as she continued looking at me like this for a bit, but eventually she said with a nod, "Right, it doesn't affect our daily life at all. So cook something for me."
I had already been expecting her to say something like this, so I started heading towards the kitchen while saying, "There was this Rush Bull that I found today. I think you'll be happy if I make a steak out of it."
Iris' eyes immediately lit up when she heard this.
That was because she had already had a Rush Bull steak before and she knew how delicious it was.
That was why I brought it up.
This Rush Bull wasn't caught today, but was something that I had been saving in my spatial storage the entire time just in case I needed to distract Iris.
Now seemed like a good time to use this Rush Bull meat that I had been saving the entire time.
While we were heading to the kitchen, Iris suddenly said, "Right, since you give off this sensation to me, you should also give off the same sensation to other dragons."
"Huh?" I was caught off guard when I heard this.
Only it didn't seem like Iris cared as she continued saying, "It's inferior to my bloodline, so it's not as if it's that interesting to me. But for those with weaker bloodlines than mine, but still stronger than the one from the sensation that you're giving me, they'll try to eat you and absorb that bloodline. You should be careful in the future."
I was even more surprised to hear this, but it wasn't as if I was panicking.
After all, it wasn't as if I couldn't deal with a dragon that had a weaker bloodline than Iris.
If I could bring in these dragons, all that would mean is that we would be able to harvest even more dragon materials.
In a worst case scenario, I could also call on the others to help me fight any dragons that would come.
So to be turned into live dragon bait wasn't really a bad thing.
"Well, I'll deal with it when it comes up."
Iris gave a nod before saying, "How long will it take to cook?"
Shaking my head with a bitter smile, I said, "Just give me a bit of time."
