Since I had gained control of the troops, it meant that I was finally able to do what I wanted.
It meant that I was finally able to act on the information that I received from my spy.
This meant that it was finally time to drive the demons out of the Deter Kingdom.
"What do you want us to do in this place?"
That was the first question that was asked when I revealed my new battle plan.
It wasn't just the person that asked this question that looked at me with a strange look. Everyone that was in this meeting room looked at me with the same strange look as they couldn't understand what I was saying.
It wasn't that I had used complicated words that they couldn't understand.
It was just that they couldn't understand why I would be giving these orders.
"Just go and take care of the demons that are hiding in these places, that's all you have to do."
There were looks of doubt that were cast in my direction, but I didn't say anything as I waited for them to head off.
I didn't need to go with them since I knew that they would be able to take care of this all on their own. After all, these places were the gathering spots for the demons that they thought were hidden.
They would never expect to be ambushed in these places.
But in the end, there wasn't anything that they could do when they were ambushed by the humans.
It wasn't as if the soldiers were weaker than them and since they had caught the demons off guard, it really became a one sided fight.
For the demons, the only thing that they could do was run.
For the humans, they were naturally trying to take down as many demons as possible since they were invaders in their land.
No matter which spot they were deployed to, they were surprised to find that there would always be demons hiding there.
Of course, the soldiers that had come along were all elite soldiers of the Abel Kingdom.
If they were in a situation where they were catching the demons off guard, it really was easy for them to wipe out all of the demons.
But when they came back, all of them looked at me with strange looks.
I knew exactly what they were thinking, but I didn't address it at all as I kept giving them new orders.
During the time that the soldiers had gone out to take care of the demons, I worked with the volunteers that came from the Deter Kingdom to find the villages and other settlements that had been taken over by the demons.
There were many that had been completely looted and there wasn't anything worth salvaging in those places, so we didn't bother securing them.
For the ones that weren't as damaged, we deployed forces to hold those villages and settlements so that when the refugees of the Deter Kingdom came back, they would be able to start rebuilding.
But it wasn't as if there weren't people that were connected to these villages here.
They had been part of the refugees that came as volunteers to fight against the demons.
When they saw the state that their homes were in, they couldn't help volunteering to guard and clear out those villages.
I didn't say anything as I just let them do what they wanted.
After all, it wasn't as if there was anything to lose from letting these people take care of these places. They would be far more willing to do the work than those that didn't have any attachments to these places.
With the rate that we cleared out this place, it didn't take more than two days for us to reclaim most of the Deter Kingdom.
From time to time, the demons tried laying out traps in these places, but the soldiers avoided all of these traps with the orders that I gave them.
They couldn't help feeling that there was something off about how easily I saw through the traps of the demons, but I still didn't say anything.
After they were defeated, the only thing that the demons could do was run.
As for the place that they ran, it was the capital of the Deter Kingdom.
That was the place that the demons had set up their headquarters after they had claimed the land of the Deter Kingdom.
It was the place that was the most fortified, so it was the best place for them to hunker down.
It was just that when one saw that the demons who were supposed to be the invaders were the ones that were being sieged like this, it really was a strange sight.
"We should just rush in and take them down."
That was the suggestion that the generals made when we surrounded the capital of the Deter Kingdom. However, I immediately turned down these suggestions when I heard them make them.
After all, it would be crazy to do something like this.
Especially since I knew what was waiting for us inside of the capital.
With how many demons there were, we certainly wouldn't be at an advantage.
At the same time, there were a few powerful demons that were in there that would be troublesome to deal with.
Even if the demons had been pushed into the capital like this and we had surrounded them, they just couldn't be underestimated. After all, they were still powerful demons and they would be desperate if we were to push them against a wall, they would still show that they had fangs.
So instead of facing them head on, it was better to find a different way to drain their power to make this easier.
It wasn't wrong to fight with one's brains after all.
It was just that to do this, I would have to use some sneaky methods since the capital was quite firmly guarded.
