This was a second group of powerful demons that were just like the lava demons.
It was a group of wood demons that created branches that came out of the ground.
With the way that the branches moved, it seemed like they wanted to shatter the ice that the lava demons were trapped inside of. Even though by doing so, it would free the lava demons and burn away these branches.
It really didn't seem like these wood demons would work well with the lava demons, but there was no hesitation in their actions.
It was just that before they could do this, there was something that suddenly cut through all of the branches that they had created.
There was something invisible that cut through these branches, but then the branches that had been cut suddenly burst into flames.
When these branches burst into flames like this, the wood demons had no choice but to let them go.
If they didn't, then the flames would have climbed through these branches to reach their main body.
That was something that the wood demons couldn't allow to happen.
After they abandoned the branches, it seemed like they were planning on using something else to save the lava demons.
Only before they could actually do that, there were flames that appeared around them.
The moment that they saw these flames, the wood demons had ugly looks on their faces. After all, they could feel the heat that was coming from these flames and they knew that these flames were anything but normal.
That was why they couldn't help taking a step back, even though there were also flames behind them.
Before they could actually do anything, the flames suddenly started to burn even more intensely to the surprise of the wood demons.
It was as if there was something that hit them that suddenly made them stronger.
Then there were these strange blades of flames that suddenly came at them.
It wasn't that the flames that were around them turned into blades, it was more that something hit them and were lit on fire.
This was the identity of the things that cut the branches earlier.
These were blades of wind that caught the flame and were set on fire.
The wood demons had to do all that they could to stop the flames from reaching them, but it really was hard.
After all, they just couldn't see these blades of wind coming at them. It was only when the blades of wind hit the flames around them that they became visible.
It was as if they were being shot at from invisible enemies all around them.
It didn't take long for the wood demons to be taken down by these flame blades.
"What are you doing? Why are you just watching instead of setting things up?" I said to the soldiers that had stopped moving once more.
They had awkward looks on their faces, but they soon followed my orders once more.
But the wood demons weren't the last things that came out.
There were several groups of powerful demons that were hiding in this castle and they kept coming out to stop us.
It was just that they made the mistake of not coming together.
Demons really didn't know how to work with each other, so they kept coming out in small groups rather than attacking me at once.
Because of the spy that I had among the demons, I knew what kind of demons were hiding here. That was why I knew to prepare all of these things that were perfect for countering these demons.
With these counters, there really wasn't anything that the demons could do to stop us from setting up the smoke piles.
Once the smoke piles were set up, they had even less of a chance to do anything.
After all, the poison from the smoke piles went right into the castle and the demons were weakened once more. When they were weakened like this, there really wasn't anything that they could do against our soldiers.
The castle was already in bad shape because the demons had destroyed most of it when they had sieged the nobles of the Deter Kingdom.
That made it easy for us to break through the defenses of the castle and reach the demons.
Even if they were fighting as if they had nothing to lose, they really couldn't do anything when the cards were stacked against them. It was as if they were children that were being handled by adults.
When it was over, the demon corpses laid all over the castle and there were a few that had been captured.
We could have captured more demons, but I knew that it would have been dangerous.
The demons didn't need weapons or anything, they had special powers as part of their racial advantage. That was why it was dangerous to keep them as prisoners since they would be able to use them still.
But it wasn't as if we could just ignore them completely.
A few demon captives would be good to get information on.
It was all about choosing the right ones.
The one that I chose was the lava demons that had been sealed.
Since they had been frozen like this, it was easier for me to transport them. At the same time, I still had the magic items that I had used to capture these lava demons in the first place.
So even if the ice melted over time, I would be able to make more ice to trap these lava demons.
Once it was over, there was nothing left for the demons.
Once we claimed the capital of the Deter Kingdom, it meant that we had reclaimed all of the Deter Kingdom.
The only thing that was left to do was clean up this place, but that wasn't something for me to do.
Rather, this was something that was up to those back in the Abel Kingdom to take care of.
My job was done once we took down the demons.
