"Roarrrrrrr!" He let out a thunderous roar and swung.

Jake thought that the skeletons would be completely obliterated by the Minotaur, but what happened next shocked him.

Three skeletons pushed forward and blocked the attack. Their shields managed to hold up for a few seconds before shattering, and the skeletons were thrown back, but those three had managed to block the attack, allowing the other seven to push in.

With the opening created, those seven began attacking the Minotaur, their blades cutting through its heavy, thick skin.

"Roaoooooooor!"

The Minotaur roared and started thrashing around, throwing skeleton after skeleton away, but by the time it managed to throw all of them back, it was already down on a knee, bleeding all over.

'These skeletons are really something,' Riven thought. He glanced at Crypt, and Crypt nodded at him. The two of them lunged forward at top speed.

One Minotaur charged at Crypt. It attacked with an overhead slash, but Crypt dodged the axe, spun his spear while he moved to the side, and thrust his spear so fast the Minotaur couldn't react.

The spear dug into its side, blood spilled out as he pulled out the spear. The Minotaur let out a resounding roar. It raised its feet and tried to kick Crypt. Crypt blocked the kick. He was pushed a few steps back before charging in again with a diagonal slash.

The Minotaur blocked the spear and pushed it back before slashing down. Crypt stepped back and dodged. He stretched out his hand, and the spear started spinning.

"Raging tornado," he said and thrust the spear at full speed.

Jake dodged the attack of the Minotaur. The axe moved fast, but as long as he watched closely, he could dodge it perfectly. As the blade passed beside him, he leaned in and attacked, going for the chest.

The Minotaur pulled back its arm and parried the spear at the last moment and swung at full force, but Jake dodged the axe and countered. He stabbed the leg of the Minotaur. It let out a roar and attacked again, but Jake was too fast. He pulled back and thrust his spear.

"Raging tornado."

The spear dug into the lower body of the Minotaur and blasted through it.

"Roarrrr!"

The Minotaur roared in pain. It collapsed to its knees. Jake charged at it again and stabbed through its neck, killing the Minotaur.

Jake looked at the body on the ground and got ready to use Rise.

He saw a notification, so he knew that Crypt was done with the other Minotaur.

"Rise," Jake said, and the formation appeared under the Minotaur. When it returned, it had turned into his undead, with blazing green eyes.

Jake looked at it and smiled. He unfused with the ogre immediately and fused with the Minotaur. The moment the fusion worked, his body was filled with an immense amount of strength, several times higher than what the ogre gave.

"Yes, this is much better," Jake said with a smile. He looked at the last Minotaur that was still on its knees. He threw his spear at it and killed it immediately.

"This feels better," he said. He squeezed his arms a bit, then walked and pulled out his spear and walked back to Ophelia.

She was still protected by the ogres. When Jake came back to her, she pouted.

"I want to fight too," she said.

"You know I can't allow that," Jake said.

"Hmph, I know I can help," she said.

"Maybe after you have trained enough," Jake said. She pouted again, not happy with that, but suddenly, a worried look formed on her face.

She ran toward Jake and pushed him out of the way, and just as she did, a powerful blast of energy passed, moving so fast that it would have been impossible to react to. It struck a house, and the house collapsed immediately.

Ophelia landed on Jake, and they both went to the ground. Then she raised her hand, and her golden light created a barrier.

Boom.

Another attack slammed into the barrier. It trembled and shattered, but it managed to stop the attack from hitting.

"Drake, what the hell is going on?" Jake asked in a panic.

"These attacks are coming from very, very far away. It makes sense I wasn't able to sense the attack, but the question is how did Ophelia do it?" Drake said.

"No time to think about how she did it. We have to find the person attacking and take them down," Jake said. He grabbed Ophelia and rushed behind a building for cover.

Boom. Another attack hit, and this time it hit all his ogres, killing them instantly and leaving a massive crater.

"What even is that attack?" Jake asked. Crypt rushed to his side. He stood behind the building and tried to peek and see where the attack was coming from.

Boom. Another attack smashed into the wall and shattered it, almost blowing Crypt's face off.

"Another one is coming," Ophelia said. She tugged on Jake. He got on his feet and ran along with Crypt.

Boom. The blast hit the house and obliterated it. Jake carried Ophelia and jumped into a window, followed by Crypt. They got out through the other window and ran out of the house, trying to use the house as some sort of cover to make whatever was attacking them lose sight.

Boom. Boom. Boom.

The attacks continued coming and blasting through the houses, bringing them down to the ground.

But Jake also noticed something, explosions were happening all around, similar to the one that was targeting him, so he knew for sure that it wasn't an attack targeted only at him.

As they ran through the streets, Jake looked toward the direction of the attacks and saw a bright flash of light coming from the distance, from the wall of the city.

"That's it. It's at the edge of the city, on the wall," Jake said.

"Hmmm, I can see it now. I can't sense its presence, but I can see it," Drake said.

"What does it look like?" Jake asked.

"It's a Hydra a seven-headed Hydra. Each mouth is attacking with heavy, concentrated plasma blasts," Drake said.

"Huh? A Hydra, here? That's crazy. Maybe that's the king that we are to kill," Jake said. "You seem to know a bit about the beast, how come?" Jake asked Drake.

"A Hydra carries the dragon blood. I believe something about it is stored in my memories due to our blood," Drake said.

"I guess that makes some sense," Jake said. He kept running, trying to get away from the blasts. More and more houses kept getting exploded.

"Being able to attack at such a bad range is crazy. We have to get to that wall," Jake said.

"The wall is surrounded by monsters, Master, and they are coming in a wave," Drake said.

"I see. If things get out of hand, I'll summon you, but for now, I'll have to use Fang," Jake said and summoned the snake.

"There are no citizens around, so when you see any monsters, use your poison breath on them," Jake said.

Fang hissed, meaning it understood. It waited for the three of them to get on and then slithered forward.

It moved at an extremely crazy speed, but not fast enough to throw them off its back.

"Ophelia, I don't know how you did it exactly, but I need you to keep an eye on that being on the walls and tell us about its attack pattern and when it tries to attack us," Jake said.

"Alright," she nodded. She focused. Jake had given her a task now, so she wasn't going to throw that away.

They pushed through the street at a shocking pace. They came up to a group of knights battling a monster. The moment they saw the snake, they all scattered in different directions.

Fang attacked the orc as it passed. It picked it up and threw it into the air before biting its head clean off.

"That's what I'm talking about," Jake said happily.

"Jake, watch out!" Ophelia yelled.

"Master!" Drake called out.

Jake turned, and he saw the attack headed their way. All seven heads of the Hydra turned to his direction and fired that attack from the wall all at him.

The plasma blasts collided together and created one massive blast that came toward him. Jake saw the bright light headed his way, and he didn't know what to do. His mind raced in that fraction of a second he had, but sadly, no plan came to mind.

And when he looked up again, the bright light of the plasma blast was right in front of him. He closed his eyes slowly.
