Grey decided to postpone his departure until he was absolutely ready. He wanted to refine more poison and Assimilate the Forbidden Monarch art.
As soon as he said down cross legged and began to breathe in according to the Method recorded in the Jade slip, Grey felt a cold unpleasant energy fuse into his body.
His body involuntarily shuddered as cold air seeped under his skin and into his blood. But this was normal. After that, be circulated the cold energy within his body on the same path that spirit energy usually circulated. But when the cold energy passed his spirit energy, there was no reaction. It was as if his spirit energy could not be bothered with the cold and foreign energy.
With his spirit energy ignoring the cold energy, he completed one full circulation round his body. At that time, Grey felt a slight chilling coldness surface deep within his body.
'This is the first sign of success!'
As Grey continued more and more circulation's, he felt the cold energy become more pronounced and chilling. He unconsciously breathe out and a faint white mist floated out of his mouth. But the dense cold air around this white mist was shocking.
Grey clearly could not feel it because his body had already gotten used to the cold. His fair and delicate skin turned a little pale and his detached grey eyes gained a slight frostiness. After one hundred circulation's round his body, the cold energy seeping into his body suddenly started to condense near his spirit energy.
The cold energy condensed into a small blue core. This blue core released chilling coldness that permeated Grey's body.
As soon as the cold core was formed, Grey immediately knew that he had reached the first level in the Forbidden Monarch art!
After reaching the first level, Grey decided to rest for a few minutes before he continued. Although his spirit energy did not seem affected by the cold energy, his body was clearly not used to it and was struggling to assimilate it with his body.
If he continued to cultivate that cold energy, his body might be in danger.
Since he was resting, Grey decided to delve deeper into the Forbidden Monarch art.
The Forbidden Monarch art was created by a Yin energy practitioner. After God descended, corrosive substance corroded all things and energy was in chaos.
Yin energy had some similarities with the corrosive substance, so it became even more cold and icy based. It could only be found in extremely cold places with dense corrosive substance left by God's blinding radiance.
One time, the yin practitioner was flying high above until he was targeted and locked unto by a powerful bizarre existence. He fought the bizarre existence with all his might but the bizarre existence was too strong. He could only manage to escape each time.
As he was running away, he suddenly found a corroded zone with dense Yin energy properties. The corrosive substance was even more dense. For some reason, the bizarre existence did not dare to come close to the corroded Zone, staying some distance away.
Seeing this, an idea sprang up in the Yin practitioner's mind and he entered the corroded zone to try to escape the bizarre existence. Despite the chilling cold, he hid for several weeks until the divine sense that had been locked unto him reluctantly left.
In his joy, he tried to rush out but found out to his horror that he couldn't leave. Because the yin energy was so dense, and the spirit energy within was so thin, he formed a cold core next to his spirit energy.
The cold core absorbed the yin energy until very soon, his physique began to change. His skin turned pale, his eyed were indifferent and cold and he developed a feeling comfort towards the dense yin energy.
By the time he figured out this subtle but drastic change, it was too late. His cold core had completely absorbed his spirit energy and he started to cultivate yin energy instead.
Because of this, he created a cultivating technique that specialized on cultivatinh the yin energy in the world. He called it the Forbidden Monarch art!
This art could be practiced alongside the Sky Mist art. Although the Forbidden Monarch art had not been in existence for too long, it was still widely unknown. But it was very powerful!
For an individual who wanted to start cultivating, the Forbidden Monarch art was a good start as it didn't take long to break through the levels. But if you started cultivating yin energy instead of spirit energy, you would have to cultivate yin energy alone for the rest of your life, unless you collapsed your cultivating base and started again.
But even with that, it was still risky for non cultivators to absorb yin energy. Even high level cultivators were apprehensive towards yin energy as it caused changes that could not be easily reversed.
Non cultivators who cultivated yin energy would go through profound changes under the influence of yin.
Spirit energy was the opposite of yin. It was like yang, a warm flowing energy that gave way to life. Surely, it had gone through some mutations due to corrosive substance but it was a medium to balance yin energy.
Since he had entered the first level of the Forbidden immortal art, Grey decided to practice the techniques that came with it. It was the main reason why he was practicing it after all.
After reading the Jade slips, Grey found some loopholes that didn't seem right or were not mentioned. For example, who was the practitioner? Where is the corroded zone now? Was he human? How long ago was that? And many more unanswered questions. But the Jade slip did not specify, just giving a very rough and crude outline.
In the end, he gave up on pondering and focused his attention on the techniques that came with cultivating this technique.
The most basic one was called 'Forbidden stream!' The practitioner could emit dense cold aura from his body which could temporarily affect the spirit energy in their opponent's bodies. With cold stream, you could influence the spirit energy in both your's and your opponent's bodies to a certain degree.
Grey felt that if used at the right time and in the right moment, this skill would be invaluable. For instance, if he used Dragon eyes which affected a person's spirit along with Forbidden stream, he could affect both his opponent's spirit and spirit energy.
Since he was only in the first level, he could not study any harder and more complex techniques! So he focused wholly on this single technique for some time before he began to circulate the cold energy within his body again.
By the end of the day, Grey had completely mastered the 'Forbidden stream' art. As a cold glint appeared in his eyes, cold frosty energy was expelled through his surroundings.
The frosty energy clinged to spirit energy in the air. Grey was satisfied about this and sucked in back the frosty air. As that, he circulated the Sky Mist art to balance out the cold yin energy and the spirit energy in his body.
After getting to the first level, Grey decided to pour some of his time into refinement! He would be going out into the dead sea where the corrosive substance surpassed that on land.
His poison may not have that much effect on water so he planned on improving it's corrosive properties.
So taking out the ingredients he had gathered the other day, he began to mix different ingredients and added new materials.
'Liver of firephantom... Willow root extract... Dyed morning glow weed... Blue silver grass... He mixed them in a ratio; 2 :1 :1 :3.
Grey felt the corrosive substance surge quickly as he mixed these ingredients in such a ratio. Despite the magic ship's anti corrosive substance scattering array, corrosive substance was still gushing in.
Without thinking twice, Grey released the array and let the corrosive substance gush over. In an instant, the corrosive substance on the magic ship spiked.
Grey felt the corrosive substance in his body increase dramatically but before he knew it, they were absorbed by his shadow. Grey gave his shadow a peculiar look before continuing with what he was doing.
The pill took shape after a few more minutes. A completely black pill with few spots of grey and brown.
Dense corrosive substance filled the entire Magic ship, making the air heavy and tense. As the corrosive substance was too much, the enchanted wood used to make the Magic ship started to corrode. Without a second thought, Grey swiped his hand and the pill vanished.
Not daring to check it while on his Magic ship, he swayed and appeared outside the magic ship. With a small gesture, the Magic ship shrunk down and disappeared.
Grey left the port and walked for several more blocks before stopping. It was the dead of night and few people could be seen walking on the streets. Many of them felt the spirit energy fluctuations conning from his body and didn't dare to get close.
When the port was clear, Grey casually threw small black pill into the pitch black water.
After waiting a few seconds, the water bubbled but nothing happened. Because the dead sea was already full of corrosive substance, his poison pill did not have much effect.
In disappointment, he shook his head and left. Shortly after, one huge bubbled arose and popped and a brown toothed swordfish fell to the port dead.
Itsy body was completely permeated by corrosive substance. Its sinister and malicious expression was twisted in pain and agony. It died shortly after with a look of disbelief on it's sinister face.
But unfortunately, Grey was not there to see it. If not he would have been shocked.
