Devastating The Murim with My Little Sister

Chapter 115: Meeting

P.O.V - Diana

"I would like for us to discuss on how we should go about this competition and I would also like to hear your opinions on the possible candidates for the Orthodox Murim Festival." The Patriarch states.

Everyone begins to ponder and make side comments for a while.

I don't really know what's there to think about, I'm pretty sure everyone already have and idea of who and who would be going for this.

The mini competition being held by the clan is pretty much just for show and to prove the strength of the contenders.

Well, whatever makes them happy I guess.

"Why don't we start with the upcoming generation then?" The Grand Elder proposes.

"I agree." The Second Elder, Dang Shoo says.

"Well then, who and who do you all have in mind?" The Patriarch asks.

"Remember, for the Orthodox Murim Festivals, we have only seven slots each." He states.

The room goes silent for a while as everyone seems to be deep in thoughts.

Are they actually thinking about it or are they just faking it.

"I would like to push forth my First Disciple, Dang Lu." The Second Elder Dang Shoo says with his left hand up.

Hmmm, expected.

"Though still young and I just picked him up recently, about two years ago, I think he carries great potential and would love for him to get a chance in this, so I'd be pushing for my only disciple, Dang Koi." The First Elder states.

"You two, step forward before me." The Patriarch orders.

They obey and come before him, between the people at the two sides of the room.

"Who else?" He asks.

I do not think I need to go forth since I'd participate in the mini competition.

That should be enough.

"I would like to recommend our Special Adviser to the Patriarch, Dang So, though unruly and quite disrespectful, I believe her strength can most definitely not be overlooked." The Grand Elder suddenly says just as I had sealed off being recommended today.

Now I had to step forward.

I look towards him and I see him giving me a mocking smile.

He definitely did that intentionally to annoy me.

'Just wait till I get strong enough to beat you when you get me angry!' I yell in my head.

Outside I gave a forced smile as I stepped down from the S.A (Special Adviser) to stand before the Patriarch and Elders.

I stepped to stand beside Dang Lu and unconsciously his body shifts away from me.

Trauma?

I chuckle a bit after seeing this and then face forward.

"Well since I'm in a position as the Special Adviser to the Patriarch and of the Clan, I should be able to recommend someone right?"

"Well, due to your present position I believe you should be able to do such, or is there any contrary opinion?" The Patriarch asks.

No one disapproves.

Previously there would have been some but over this past three years we've come to become better and put aside from useless banter.

Some due to my efforts and growth and others due to their little growth.

"Well then, I would like to recommend... Dang Hyuk."

Others seemed a bit surprised.

Not too surprised since we weren't on bad terms but they must've expected that I'd choose Dang Soha but is there really any need? Someone else will definitely recommend her.

Even if I didn't recommend Dang Hyuk, someone else would have done it, it's not something I had to think about, I just did whatever I wanted to do.

Dang Hyuk of course did not seem surprised.

I wasn't sure if he genuinely wasn't surprised or he just couldn't express it due to his new poker nature.

He simply stood up from his seat and walked towards where I and the other two stood.

He stood beside me, his face as expressionless as always.

The Clan Mistress raises her hand to say something.

"I would also like to..."

"As the Vice Clan Head I would like to recommend my able sister Dang Soha." Dang Hyuk says in a low cold voice cutting off his mother, Dang Vera.

Of course everyone noticed this but no one said a word, they all just seem to try to avoid it.

The Clan Mistress seemed very displeased but she remained silent.

I could feel her annoyance from here but what I could feel even more was The spite coming out from Dang Hyuk.

Though his face still expressionless, his gaze was piercingly fixated on his mother.

The gaze of a predator staring down at its prey.

Why?

It looked like he was waiting for her to make one wrong move.

I knew he suddenly became cold about three years ago, around the time he and Dang Ki Ran stopped talking.

He disregarded everyone, he placed no one in his eyes except his Father, the Patriarch, The Grand Elder, Dang Soha and I.

Amongst this three only his sister did he properly respect.

The rest were more like basic respect.

But to every other person, he gave no ounce of respect.

But still that's his mum, what could she have done?

"Ehkhem!" The Patriarch clears his throat breaking the awkward silence.

Dang Soha gets up and walks over to us.

As she reaches pats him on his shoulder and his eyes slowly shut as he heaves a low but heavy sigh.

"Umm, so is there anyone else?" The Patriach asks.

The room goes silent for a moment.

"Well I guess that's it then, you may all return to your respective seats." The Patriarch permits.

We all return and I sit by the chair available at his left hand.

Hmm, I seem to be forgetting something.

What I had forgotten was immediately restored as I felt the gazes of the Elders pierce through me.

I was supposed to remain standing throughout the meeting.

I heave a sigh as I slowly get up.

'These old geezers' I lament.

The meeting continues and they speak about. awhile lot of boring things like how the mini Competition should take place and what should be used as the criteria to judge.

Bruhh, I'm getting sleepy having to stand here and listen to all this.

After standing for about another hour plus, the meeting finally comes to a close.

At the end they decided to carry out a simple one vs one and then the Elders alomg with the Patriwch will decide who would be fit to go for this Festival.

As soon as it ended I wanted to storm out of there and appear on my bed but of course I wasn't allowed to.

"Dang So, may I speak with you for a moment?" The voice of the Patriarch calls from behind me as I was about leaving.

With a forced smile up my face I slowly turn towards the Patriarch.

"Well, of course, why not."

I go over to him after greeting the Elders he finally turns towards me.

"How are you doing Dang So?"

"I'm very much fine Sir thank you for asking." I reply still with that forces smile up my face.

Suddenly he heaves a sigh.

"I know that smile is fake, drop it."

Well of course it's fake, you keeping me here when I'm trying to go sleep.

I drop it and then he gives a short smile.

"So what's up with you? Why did you have to fake a smile before me?" He asks.

"Well, respectfully Sir, I was extremely bored during the meeting and I got so sleepy so I want to go sleep."

He laughs a bit after hearing me speak.

"Thats not very respectful I must say, hahaha...

Well, it's not anything much, I won't keep you waiting for much, I'll infact have another meeting with you all again, that is the ones who would be going for the festival.

The mini competition is more like formality, though we might see some surprises which I actually hope to see.

You five who were called out today would most likely be carried unto the Festival.

On that note, I would like to appoint you as the leader of this group."

"Huh..????"
