As he leaped toward the two-headed fire dragon—one head that of a lizard, the other a bald human—he heard a snort from behind. Even without turning, he knew it was Lan Haishen, the man enveloped by a blue aura. It was annoying, and combined with their hostile attitude, an unpleasant feeling began to churn in his stomach like water about to boil. But as the two heads looked at him and roared so ferociously that the wind swept away the mist, he decided it was wise to remain calm and collected. While he suspected the root of their dislike was somehow his sect, the reason for their underestimation was that he merely had two cores, which they equated with being weaker than those who had more. To prove them wrong, there was an easy way to do it.
As the two heads began to gather a ball of qi in each of their mouths—one almost red while the other was bright orange—he wondered for a moment how to handle this dragon. Compared to the giant he had defeated, this dragon, while formidable, was nothing. Hell, even the headless former emperor of the Twelve Sun Empire had been stronger. Still, he could not be too cocky about it. The lesson he had learned from his fight with Han Jiulao was fresh, and while he wanted his gun to be the one to kill it, he would be more focused on actually killing it.
Still, that didn't mean he couldn't show off a little bit.
Instead of dodging to the sides, in mid-air, he chose to activate his necklace and sent a stable qi to his right Thunderstrike Gauntlet. Yellow lines spiraled around the black gauntlet like a painting. Then, he sent some of the qi from his Ethereal Pearl into his right gauntlet, and a ball of lightning the size of his own body materialized in front of him.
With a roar, he sent a palm strike toward the ball of lightning. A pillar of lightning extended from it toward the fire dragon, and at the same time, the two balls of fire shot from their mouths.
In a fraction of a second, the two forces collided. For a single instance, the two fireballs pushed against his lightning pillar, but then they stopped and detonated, creating a shockwave that ripped the ground apart, sending burning trees, stones, chunks of earth, and even severed body parts flying. The shockwave was so mighty that people around them were thrown back, some screaming as they sailed through the air. Between these shockwaves, the fire dragon flapped its wings and shot toward him, while Liu Xing himself summoned his shield and kicked it, creating a loud sound of thunderclap.
In a single instance, they met above a new crater. The two heads tried to bite him, while Liu Xing extended his right palm to strike right into the fire dragon. As the two jaws closed on his upper and lower body, before they could snap shut, he rotated and contorted his body, so the closing jaws were now above and below him. Then, Liu Xing shouted, redirected his palm strike, and hit the chin of the dragon's head from below. His palm strike connected, snapping the fire dragon's head upward. More than that, the sound it created was loud, the wind whipped around his palm strike, and the flying fire lizard was even thrown upward, its two heads flailing in the air for a few moments.
Summoning his shield, his heart beating with adrenaline, he kicked the shield once again, creating another sound of thunderclap, and he rushed toward the dragon. In an instant, he arrived and launched a series of rapid palm strikes that sent the fire dragon flying higher and higher. The dragon roared and flapped its wings to stop being thrown up. The lizard head opened up again and created a ball of fire. Upon seeing this, knowing that there were people below, he kicked his shield and launched himself upward. The lizard head followed him, and a second later, it spewed out a giant torrent of flame that became bigger and bigger as it traveled, making it look like the shape of a fan from above, while looking like a giant tsunami from Liu Xing's perspective.
Liu Xing summoned his shield as a foothold and sent his qi toward his Thunderstrike Gauntlets, creating two giant lightning balls that merged in front of his extended hands.
"Die!" Liu Xing shouted as he struck both of his lightning balls. A bolt of lightning shot from it. But in an instant, it branched into two, then four, then eight, then sixteen, and on and on until a huge tsunami of fire was met by a huge tsunami of lightning. When they collided, lightning bolts erupted from their meeting point and struck the ground, creating rapid thunderclaps that hit the ground relentlessly, as if a lightning storm had suddenly appeared.
As both waves fought for dominance, Liu Xing decided it was time for some help. And so, he ordered his gun, which was following the fight from below, to tilt its tip up and send a rapid volley of Exploding Fist bullets toward the fire dragon. Hundreds of blue bolts rose to the sky like a reverse meteor shower. One of the heads, the bald one, snapped its head down and opened its mouth. But instead of creating a ball of fire as usual, hundreds of fireballs materialized around the fire dragon. Then, it rained them down, trying to match his bullets. The bullet and the fireballs met, creating a huge and rapid cacophony of explosions.
At that time, the fire wave began to recede, as did Liu Xing's rain of lightning. And so, Liu Xing kicked his shield and lunged toward the fire dragon. "Come!" Liu Xing shouted, and the stone blade that was waiting for him eagerly flew toward him, settling in his right hand in an instant. At the same time, he activated his lightning blade in his left hand. When he was mere meters from the fire dragon, he swung both of his blades down. Both connected on top of the lizard's head, and the fire dragon was thrown down like a meteor. It hit the ground and created a huge cloud of dust, its huge body sprawling in the center of the third newly built crater. As it began to rise, though, Liu Xing, still in the air, sent his qi toward his stone blade, making it glow purple and feel heavier, and with a thunderous shout, Liu Xing slashed downward.

A giant crescent of purple qi as big as the dragon itself flew down like a giant and glowing guillotine. Both of the dragon's heads roared, and both heads shot flames that glowed so bright they looked like two pillars forged from the deepest, hottest part of the sun.
There. He had shown his power. That should be enough to show that, even with only two cores, he was no weakling.

Soft Oracle couldn't help but widen her eyes, her mouth agape. She was beyond surprised. After all, that gigantic flying fire lizard, the former Elder Cangxuan Wutian—one that gave her and her group trouble, and one that she knew could not be defeated by her group—was being beaten down. Liu Xing moved so fast in the sky, almost like lightning, and each time he appeared, he let out strikes that sent his opponent flying here and there. The fire creature, of course, wasn't doing nothing. It let out fire breath, condensed fire, and even tried to ram him with its huge body. Still, even she knew that with the current flow of the fight, and with how relentless Liu Xing's attack was, it was only a matter of time before the creature was defeated. Her gut feelings agreed with her assessment.
When she saw him easily killing demonic cultivators left and right, her stomach twisted and churned so much that she thought she would pass out. It was as if what she saw was not what her ability perceived. Looking at him made her feel as if she saw a bundle of something invisible, or something dark, yet at the same time, it felt natural, like a dark lightning cloud. For a moment, she actually thought Liu Xing was not human, but a weird phenomenon that resembled a human. Her gut feelings told her this wasn't true, yet at the same time insisted it was. It was confusing.
What she knew was that he was strong... but she hadn't imagined he was this strong. She knew about the rumors that stated disciples from the true great sects were stronger than normal cultivators at the same realm, but she had never actually confirmed it, and this... this was absurd!
All around her, people stopped fighting. Whether they were on her side or from the Nether Lotus Sect, they stood with their mouths agape. The fight between these two was mighty and terrifying. Even Lan Haishen, Mu Yeling, Jing Shuyan, and Feng Tianrui were surprised, their eyes wavering.
"Impossible," Lan Haishen said, "How can a cultivator with only two cores do something like that?"
She too had only two cores, and she also wondered how he did it.
"He is from the Purple Moon Sect," Mu Yeling said, "it's a wealthy sect. He must be relying on his treasures. Otherwise, there's no way for him to contend with Elder Wutian." Even as he said so, she saw that his eyes were actually trembling, as if he had just seen a ghost.
"You're right," Lan Haishen nodded, as if he had just been enlightened. "Strip him of all his treasures, and he would be pulverized by that fire creature," he snorted. "Cultivators who rely on pills to advance and treasures to fight usually have shorter lifespans and cannot advance to higher realms."
Indeed, she knew that Liu Xing had powerful treasures. His black gauntlets had to be formidable; his blade was too, and there was a third treasure she could not perceive. Not to mention the little white shark. Still, she knew that while treasures could help turn the tide, Liu Xing's speed, attacking power, and qi control were superb. While Lan Haishen, Mu Yeling, Jing Shuyan, and Feng Tianrui belittled him from afar, no one commented on the fact that he was formidable even without his treasures. He was evidently stronger than them.
"It seems he can handle the situation," she stated calmly. "I think it's time for us to move as well. There are four sources of the mist, and if we split up, we can destroy them at the same time."
While she was curious about what Liu Xing really was, she needed to put that aside and go ahead with the agreed-upon plan. And indeed, her gut feelings told her that this was the correct plan, though it still possessed some risk. Her gut feeling had told her that this fight could be won from the very start. Though she finally knew that even with her current group, they could not win against that fire creature, the Bewitching Princess, or Blood Moon. The one who could handle them was Liu Xing.
As she observed the fire dragon let out a giant pillar of condensed fire, and Liu Xing sent down a giant pillar of condensed lightning, and both attacks met in the middle, and a huge shockwave and blinding light spread, she knew that Liu Xing could do it. That fire creature... was destined to lose.
"Alright, let's go," Lan Haishen said with gritted teeth.
Mu Yeling, the hermit healer, had a red face but said nothing.
Soft Oracle looked at Liu Xing once again, then turned her back and began rushing toward a source of the mist. As she did so, Jing Shuyan relayed her order to all of the resistance. All of them needed to split into four groups, following either Lan Haishen, Mu Yeling, Jing Shuyan, or Feng Tianrui. This, in turn, made the demonic cultivators split into four as well.
The twisting in her stomach had lessened, but there was still some anxiety and a bad feeling that made her stomach ache with intense pain. After all, through all of this battle, Bewitching Princess... still hadn't appeared, and she suspected she would do so soon.
