He rushed through the air, his gun aimed at the distant fire dragon, and decided to use his invisibility. This approach required him to hold the weapon, meaning it could no longer fly and rampage on its own. But with the number of demonic cultivators significantly reduced, it was a wise trade-off, allowing him to focus his full arsenal on the dragon.
He willed the gun to become invisible, then ordered the effect to spread over his body. The process was still slow. The invisibility traveled from the gun to his left hand, spreading over his body like paint from an invisible brush. While the change took place, he surveyed the battlefield with his own eyes and his Eyes of Lightning, which floated lazily in the sky.
Another source of the mist had been destroyed, thinning the mist and improving visibility. This allowed him to more easily perceive the battles raging within it. He realized that not a single demonic cultivator was still enveloped by fire. The cultivators wearing black and red moved frantically through the mist, dodging burning and splintered trees. Their movements were considerably slower, and their techniques were weaker. These demonic cultivators hadn't just reverted to their original state, but it seemed they had become weaker. The fire had likely consumed their qi, and now they were paying the price for that power.
"Serve them right," Liu Xing commented.
When he had turned fully invisible, he was only tens of meters away from the fire dragon. The dragon's condition was bad. It once had four wings and two heads, but now only two bird-like wings remained while the two bat-like wings were gone. It still had two heads, but the lizard head was beginning to lose its form, limping to the side as the fire that composed it struggled and failed to maintain the shape. The dragon's body, once defined and tough, seemed to have lost this quality. It looked more like normal fire shaped into a dragon than a real dragon made from fire. The bald man's head steered the body, looking around vigilantly, as if searching for him.
Liu Xing used his gun to pull himself through the air, circling the fire dragon slowly. He had six potent bullets, each of which should be enough to kill a peak Core Splitting cultivator, including this incomplete fire dragon. But to kill it in one shot, he needed to find its true weak point. His hypothesis that the dragon had some kind of core was true, to an extent. The charred man was likely the core, but it seemed he was not the only one. There had to be another weak point inside the fire dragon.
The bald dragon head began to roar. Its roar reverberated through the air, and it began to fly in a circle, like a dog trying to sniff out a target but losing the scent. Liu Xing positioned himself closer and closer to the fire dragon while readying his also-invisible stone blade. He had observed the body of the fire dragon for a while and had chosen a target.
He ordered his gun to fly lower, positioning himself in the dragon's flight path. He hung from his gun, readying the stone blade in his right hand as the fire dragon drew closer and closer. It was like a truck, and he was a man standing in the middle of the road. From this close, he could see that the bald human head was restless, its fiery eyes looking around anxiously, trying to locate him. The other head had almost lost its form, looking more like a bonfire than a head, while its body became more and more undefined. Instead of a dragon, it almost looked like a mere silhouette of one.
When the dragon was right in front of him, he swung his stone blade horizontally with a swift strike, right toward its bald human head.
The head snapped its eyes toward his position, as if he had become visible again, yet it was too late. His stone blade lashed out swiftly. It struck the side of the head, right above the right ear. He had determined that while the dragon's body was like normal fire and had lost its cohesion, the head looked solid enough, meaning it was the only part protecting whatever was inside.
When he decided to target the head, he had anticipated three outcomes. First, he could be wrong, and his strike would pass through like a sword slashing fire. Second, his blade could be stopped, proving this head was as tough as the body had been before. The third and most optimistic outcome was for his stone blade to slice through it like a normal human.
As he felt resistance, he knew the head was solid. Since his stone blade instantly sank into it, he knew that it was not as tough as its body had been. The likely outcome was the third, and as that thought came to him, Liu Xing pushed more power and slashed as fast as he could. A mere moment after his stone blade connected, it came out the other side. He had cleanly cut off the top half of the head—from the ear up—and the force of his slash sent it flying, revealing a normal-looking pinkish brain while the upper part of the skull flew away, leaving a trail of blood in the air.

As he sliced the head in two, the man's face twisted, his eyes widening in surprise at the sudden attack. The attack should have been enough to kill it, but to be sure, he summoned his shield and jumped, twisting in the air as if dodging a speeding car. As he jumped, he pointed his gun toward the open brain and twitched his finger. A bullet leaped from his gun and nested inside the brain before it exploded into a brilliant light, as well as a shower of red blood and chunks of flesh. The explosion propelled Liu Xing higher into the air. He summoned his shield and stood upon it, observing the fire dragon below.
The one remaining head of the dragon had been thoroughly destroyed, leaving behind a bloody stump of a neck that gushed blood like a spring. He looked to the side of his gun, and when he saw six glowing stripes, he nodded. That head belonged to another person, which meant this dragon had been formed from at least two people. There was a chance it was formed from more, and he readied himself for such a case, but as the head continued gushing blood, the dragon's fiery body began to plummet. As it fell, its body began to disperse, as if there was nothing left to preserve its form. When it landed, the fire dragon turned into a sprawling fire that at first spread like a wave before finally settling and burning the ground. There was no hint left that it had once been a dragon.
[As Liu Xing observed the dead fire dragon, he wondered about the origin of this fire dragon and how it worked. Evidently, the dragon was initially tough, including its two heads, its body, and even its feet. He had left plenty of marks on its body and only breached its tough exterior with considerable effort. But after he killed the charred person, killing the other person was surprisingly easy. He knew this dragon was not natural; it was made from fusing two people. The charred person was probably the core of the being, while the human head was either the one who controlled the dragon's body or had a utility function to make sure the fire dragon could function.
In the end, while that fire dragon was quite strong, it was dead at his hand, which proved he had grown absurdly strong.
"Alright, let's continue with this pace," he said.
His next target was the woman behind it all, the one called Bewitching Princess.
As he wondered where she was, Liu Xing tried to establish a stronger connection to his four Eyes of Lightning. All of them had lost their marks and were currently floating in different places. He willed them to rise higher and ordered them to look around. Soon, he could see himself from four different perspectives. Two were close by, while the other two were quite far away. He ordered them to space out evenly while sweeping the area below. Then, he ordered his eyes to look for the source of the mist and found that only one source remained. The other three had been destroyed.
Liu Xing kicked his shield and flew toward the only remaining source. But before he arrived, a huge explosion rumbled the world. A giant cloud of dust rose from the source of the mist before dispersing into the surrounding area.
It seemed the last source had finally been destroyed.
Soon, Liu Xing landed on the ground near yet another crater. All around him, corpses littered the ground. Most of them were Nether Lotus Sect disciples, but many were not. Standing between the corpses atop the pooling blood were the winners of this clash. Each of them was hurt. Some had injuries all over their bodies, as if a beast had mauled them, some were drenched with blood from head to toe, some had serious burn marks and many other wounds. Some wore sad expressions, but almost all of them looked relieved, while some were cheering.
In the center of the crater stood two people. One of them was the man still enveloped by a blue aura. His right arm was severed from the elbow down, while the right side of his face was bloody, as if he had just clawed at his cheeks until they bled. To his side was a woman with long black hair. Her breath was rough as she knelt near a mummy with a severed head. Her right arm was bloody, and her nails were black, as if ink had seeped through her skin. Looking at the mummy's torn neck, he concluded that this Lady Oracle had severed the head with her bare fingers.
"Good job," Liu Xing commented as he dismissed his invisibility.
In an instant, all heads snapped toward him, even Lan Haishen and Lady Oracle. His robe was in tatters. Only a sliver of cloth remained, hiding his sensitive parts. Still, while there was some soot and dirt on him and his hair was messy, his body had no serious injuries. He looked calm and was breathing normally, as if he hadn't exerted his physical body at all.
Lan Haishen narrowed his eyes when he saw him. "What about Elder Wutian?"
"If you mean that fire dragon, I killed it."
Lan Haishen opened his mouth, his face twisted with fury, but before he could let out the words, a rumble could be heard.
Everyone, including Liu Xing, suddenly became alert and looked around, wondering where the source of the rumble was. He soon realized the source was high in the sky, so he tilted his head up.
The sky was obstructed by a thick smoke that almost looked like a dark cloud. From the very beginning of the fight, that smoke had been looming in the sky, growing bigger as more and more smoke converged with it.
He had never paid this smoke any attention, but it seemed from the very start, this smoke was not ordinary.
A moment later, a figure could be seen coming out of the smoke.
Liu Xing readied his gun and stone blade, prepared to fight, when she said something so surprising he wondered whether his ears were mistaken.
