Cybernetic Evolution System

Chapter 119: Magical Ores

I picked one for each element, except for the spells with fire-related attributes.

They were all Intermediate spells.

It was the sweet spot.

I was tempted to purchase High and Advanced-level spells, but there was no need to waste so many merit points.

With the system, I could progress to that level later.

Perhaps from the Intermediate spells, I could also gain insights into the basic spells of each type.

I wouldn't dare purchase so many spells before awakening the system, because it would have been nearly impossible to learn them.

Although this would take me quite some time to master, once I did, it would drastically increase my fighting capability against opponents without using my cybernetic beasts.

"Interesting choices. It seems that you have someone special in your life. It makes sense that someone has already discovered your incredible potential before it was revealed to the public," MidnightFire said, chuckling as she glanced at me and the holographic screen before her.

"It seems that I was too late."

She placed her hand against her head and said dramatically.

Then, she sighed in defeat, raised her hand, and asked, "Do you have any other purchases you would like to make before we close the deal?"

"Yeah. Is there any special magical metals or dungeon ores for sale?" I asked.

"Of course there are," MidnightFire responded. "How are we going to craft our weapons if there aren't? Give me a second, I'll show you the things that we have."

Soon, a list appeared before me.

[ Bronzelight Ore – 80 MP per chunk

Dungeon: Pale Green – Low

Use: Basic magic weapons

Mistiron Shard – 150 MP per shard

Dungeon: Pale Green – Medium

Uses: Use to enhance fog/mist concealment spells or techniques.

Glowstone Ore – 250 MP per crystal

Dungeon: Pale Green – High

Uses: Specialises in stabilising mana through conduits. ... ]

The magical ores were all classified according to the rank and grade they had been obtained.

Not all dungeons provided ores, but those that did were turned into mining sites that were regularly harvested to provide materials used to forge magical equipment.

Some special magical beasts also provided magical ores.

Because the whole earth was also a dungeon, even the ores mined from the ground itself contained magical energy that could be used for forging magical equipment or items.

Some were magical copper, silver, gold, and others. The rest were special ores that had emerged after the earth's transformation into a dungeon and its mysterious expansion.

The only difference was that the magical saturation within each ore could range from as low as a Pale Green dungeon to as high as a Green-ranked dungeon, which was equivalent to a Rank One to Rank Three Awakener depending on their Class and Path.

The names of the ores were given to those who had discovered them first.

Considering new dungeons were always emerging around the globe, new ores were constantly appearing and flooding the market after being harvested.

As I scrolled through the list, I only saw ores from Pale Green to Green.

I found it understandable, considering Rank Three Awakeners were the minimum requirement needed to conquer such a Green-ranked dungeon.

It was already impressive that ores originating from such dungeons were available for a First-Year student to purchase.

Perhaps, ores from higher-ranked dungeons could only be found in the upper years.

I selected the ores as though I were selecting beast cores.

The higher their rank, the longer it would take to properly devour the mana stored within.

I was careful when selecting the ores to ensure that Felix could properly digest them, thereby increasing his strength.

A thought crossed my mind.

Could Felix also assimilate the properties within the ores?

Different ores possessed varying abilities, primarily because of the type of ores they were forged from and the enhancements placed on them.

It was plausible.

I paused and reselected the ores I had chosen.

[ Ironvine Ore - 400 MP per vine-core (+10)

Dungeon: Light Green – Low

Uses: Durable weapons & armour, flexible alloys.

Azuresap Ore - 1,000 MP per vial (+10)

Dungeon Origin: Light Green – High.

Uses: Enhances wind-related spells or techniques.

Cloudiron Ore – 1,200 MP (+10)

Dungeon Origin: Light Green – High.

Uses: For fast weapons and projectiles.

Lightningseed Ore - 2000MP (+6)

Dungeon Origin: Light Green – High.

Uses: Enhances lightning-related spells and techniques. ]

At the same I selected ores for the CRs and Victory.

[ Glowstone Ore – 250 MP per crystal (+10

Dungeon: Pale Green – High

Mistiron Shard – 150 MP per shard (+20)

Dungeon: Pale Green – Medium.

Mosscopper Ore – 300 MP (+10)

Dungeon: Pale Green – Medium. ]

With the special metals I had chosen, I could verify whether absorbing them would enable him to also acquire their characteristics.

Even if it didn't work, their strength would still be significantly increased.

The only thing that made my heart ache was the amount it took to secure all of these. Fortunately, it was enough to get what I needed at the moment for my beasts.

"I'm done." I sent the list to MidnightFire.

"What do you want to use all of these for?" MidnightFire asked.

"Or are these also a gift for that person?"

"Yes, they are." Technically, they were for Felix and the others.

"Oh my!" MidnightFire exclaimed.

Suddenly, her tone became dull and defeated.

"It's just a pity that I was the first to discover your potential. Alas, we are both in different departments, for fate was never going to allow it."

Then, it became vibrant once more.

"Come on. Tell me who it is. I promise to keep their identity a secret."

MidnightFire leaned in, awaiting my response.

"I'm not having this conversation with you," I replied.

MidnightFire snorted, reclining back in her seat.

"If you want to continue keeping her a secret, then go ahead. Nothing remains hidden for long, so her identity will be revealed sooner or later."

She continued, "Pay up."

I transferred the required amount.

My account dried up instantly.

[ Merit Points: 89 ]

"All the items you've purchased will be delivered to your doorstep by tomorrow evening. You'll be informed the moment they are delivered. It's a pleasure doing business with you," MidnightFire said.

"I'll be taking my leave then," I replied.

"Inform Sarafina I said hi."

"Hmmm! I thought you didn't want to be anywhere near her before. When did you guys become so close?"

Before she could utter another sentence, I summoned my profile menu and logged out.

I didn't know what was going on through her mind, and I didn't want to find out.

**

[ Third Person P.O.V ]

Observing as the Worst One's body scattered into ones and zeros, vanishing, MidnightFire couldn't help but chuckle, finding the scene amusing.

She also logged out.

Outside the VR server, Chioma removed her helmet and placed it on the small round table beside her.

She was dressed in a white robe and lay on a massage table with a pair of robotic arms that extended from the machine beside her, kneading her shoulders.

Suddenly, another robot arrived in front of her table.

This one was humanoid, colored in white, and carried a tray filled with a jug and a glass cup.

"Are you done with your VR session, Miss Chioma? Would you like some refreshments to calm your mind?" the robot asked.

"Yes, please," Chioma responded.

The robot filled up the glass cup with chilled mixed fruit juice from the jug.

It carried the glass and handed it to her.

Chioma took the cup and gently sipped from it.

"Ahhh..."

As the leader of the Star Auction Auditorium, she could afford to use facilities like this in her free time, unlike other nobles who needed to squeeze merit points out of their wallets just to do so.

"Do you need anything else?" the robot asked.

"Yes. Call my teacher. I have some interesting information I'd like to share with her," Chioma replied with a nod.

"Okay. Calling teacher," the robot said.

Meanwhile, Chioma's mind wandered back to her conversation with Ezekiel.

If she had known he would be much more approachable than he seemed, she would have already taken their partnership to the next level.

He was such an interesting personality.

I pretended to log out, then logged back in.

This time around, I chose to appear in my usual spot, beside the familiar fountain.

I opened my profile menu and sent a message to Bunnytea anonymously.

She wasn't online.

I left her a message for when she came online.

Next, I contacted MistPrincess02.

I decided to sell the information I already had about me, Fredric, and the others to earn some merit points.

She was online.

[ Sent by MistPrincess02 (230 reputation points) - Hey,

How much are you willing to sell the information for? ]

[ 200 merit points each. ]

I sent my reply.

[ Sent by MistPrincess02 (230 reputation points.) - That's robbery! How about 50 merit points for each? ]

[ 170. ]

[ Sent by MistPrincess02 (230 reputation points) - Fine. I'll make it 80 merit points. ]

[That's too shameless. I'll go as low as 150 just for your sake. ]

.....

I couldn't write without dozing off. This will do for today.
