"What? No, of course not! What would make you think I'd do something…" I trailed off as the confusion on my face slowly slipped into realisation that Liu Runchu or his master probably said they had to get access to my code under the disguise of ensuring the sect ship's safety.
"No, I did not do that. However, what I did is far kinder to the sect, since, it won't impact the sect ship at all. Also, I am sure that you have some way to check the blueprint table trash bin or something. If you do, then I am certain you will find I tossed his mental lock in the trash, which now that I think about it, is probably what he is using to justify this accusation. Most likely to get the sect to declassify the ship design so he can check it under some sort of sect safety assurance. How close am I?"
I almost missed it, the soft mumble "pretty close" she then waved her hand as if she was dismissing that thought and looked at me for a few moments before speaking to me.
"Speculating that there are ghosts in the halls out to get you, won't help you, I have already elevated this issue to the sect leader's attention, and you are hereby confined to your quarters, you may only leave to cultivate. A member of the disciplinary department will escort you to your cultivation chamber and back to your room each day, meals will show up in your room for you after you cultivate."
She turned to leave but paused as she reached to open the airlock door, turning her head slightly to look back at me and whispered so low that I almost couldn't hear it. "This is the best I can do for you… don't write any more codes on this ship, wait till you have your own and people you can trust at your side." she turned back and waved her hand to open the door before her heard her mutter to herself as she stepped through the door. "What the hell are they thinking?" the door closed behind her, and I was alone staring at it in shock at her final words.
I am not sure how long I stood there for, but a loud beep jolted me back to reality as the door to the cultivation chamber opened itself. Letting out a sigh, I slowly stepped out onto the cushion and sat down as the door closed and locked behind me.
"Ding! You have 16 hours of cultivation time, as someone that has not reached Qi Gathering stage 3, yet we recommend you hurry up."
I let out a sigh of annoyance as I came to the conclusion that the voice was right, I needed to hurry up and get the hell out of here and back home. I turned my attention inside my body, looking for the Qi. when I found it, I saw it moving lazily, flowing out of my dantian and through my veins on the path to my lungs. After watching it for a few cycles, I noticed my lungs were saturated, and the technique in my head was screaming that I needed to shift the path on from the lungs to the brain.
I focused intently on how the technique said to do this. After a few dozen missed grasps at the Qi and a couple huffs of annoyance, I began to think there had to be a better way of doing this. I stopped actively cultivating and just sat there watching how the Qi flowed and what it did when it brushed up against the walls of my veins. After a few moments and checking the technique a few times, I noticed the technique never actually said I was meant to grasp the Qi, it said I had to guide the Qi. My attention on my Qi became all consuming, as I started to stare at a section of my vein, trying to figure out how to 'guide it'. I don't know how long it took, but I eventually notice there was no blood in the vein with the Qi. This caused me a bit of confusion and I quickly double-checked my cultivation technique confirming that the Qi did not replace blood, so if it didn't then where was my blood. Needing to answer this question, I refocused my attention back on the section of vein that I had been watching and began to scrutinise it.
The vein was immaculately clean and only Qi rushed through it. The edges of the Qi rolled around itself, making sure to keep away from the edges of the vein as it rushed past. I frowned as I started thinking, it was too clean, like it was brand new. I slowly followed the vein back to my heart and began to scrutinise my heart, watching the blood and Qi flow through it separately, never touching.
It took a while, but I eventually noticed that the blood and Qi were using separate veins and not the same ones. This realisation caused me to attention to rush down the Qi vein to my lungs and trace the unused vein up to my brain. As I reached my brain, something clicked inside me and the Qi began to follow that vein at an alarming speed that I had not experienced before.

I let out a gasp as my hand shop up to grip my chest as the Qi rushing through the new vein consumed my attention. I could feel it brushing against the walls of the vein in its mad rush to get to the brain.
"Aaah, it hurts" I cried out as I tried to convince it to slow down, only for it to speed up. My brain was quickly saturated with the Qi, and It didn't stop there, it continued rushing forward into a new vein leading to my skin, causing me to scream out in pain. I am not sure what happened next, but I woke up in my bed. I slowly looked around the room and then inside myself to see my Qi lazily cycling through my veins, almost like a sleeping dragon waiting for something. My attention moved to my brain, seeing it saturated in Qi, looking more vibrant and healthy. My attention then moved onto my skin, quickly noticing it had the same appearance, causing me to following the vein from there to my bones. However, before I could continue examining my body, a voice spoke.
"Congratulations, you have reached the Foundation Establishment realm faster than I have ever seen anyone else reach it. You are also bared from cultivating for two weeks, you need to stabilise your dantian before trying to push further. Honestly, I'm surprised your foundation has any sense of stability with the speed at which you forced the Qi to saturate your body." the unknown woman turned and stormed out of the door, leaving me behind.
"Well, I guess that means I'm confined to this room for the next two weeks." I said sadly as I turned my attention to my cultivation technique to figure out how to stabilise my foundation like the woman had told me to.
I was almost immediately interrupted from doing so by the door opening and Mentor Zhang storming into my room, looking more angry than she had when she thought I had written a code to blow up the sect ship.
"You just have to get your way, don't you!" she screamed at me as she flung a scroll across the room to me before folding her arms across her chest and glaring at me. "Hurry up and use the scroll" she snapped after I just sat there staring at her in confusion.
I turned my attention to the scroll and reached out to pick it up. Opening it slowly, seeing a language on the scroll I still didn't understand, causing me to let out a sigh. I looked up only to see Zhang Mei pointing at the scroll, then shifting her finger to tap it against my forehead. I felt shame wash over me as I let out a small scream the second her finger touched my head. Dropping the scroll, my hand leapt to my forehead as what felt like a needle shoved its way into my skull. Then I felt the information contained on the scroll appearing in my brain.
"What the hell? Wait… is this a movement technique?" I asked in wonder as I instantly started studying it.
"Yes, it is." she replied simply as she smacked me over the head with a second scroll. As that needle pain hit my skull, I suddenly knew a fighting style.
My mouth fell open as I quickly began to look it over, the fact I had just been taught an entire style of fighting by someone smacking me over the head with it was not lost on me. She snatched the scroll on my bed as her other hand dropped a ring on my head before it bounced off and into my lap.
"Stick that on your finger, It has 400 cubic meters of storage space and is called a jade storage ring. It was gifted to you by the sect leader. Personally, I can not even fathom, the level of kindness and generosity she has shown to you by giving you that ring…" she drifted off for a moment like she was debating something in her head before she continued talking.
"Just run your Qi through it, it will attune itself to you so only you may use it. Inside you will find the Time and Space Golden Core Cultivation Technique, and a flight technique passed down to me by my mentor. I expect you to pass it to your mentee one day, if you ever get so lucky to have one. Now with me handing those over to you and my lack of desire to answer any questions you may have during your foundation stage I officially dismiss you as my mentee, my obligation to you is now complete. Oh, I should probably mention that once you manage to stabilise your foundation, you will be assigned duties on the ship to complete. I recommend you also find a profession to follow, like animal herding or something that doesn't require you to be near anyone. Once you have reached the peak of Foundation, use the golden core cultivation technique to progress to the Golden Core Realm, that is when a mentors job is done, and you go and find a master to follow in some department." once she was done speaking, she turned abruptly and stormed out of my room leaving me overwhelmed and confused.
I slowly looked down at the ring and reached out to pick it up, slowly examining it as I brought it up to eye level. I didn't think Zhang would do anything nefarious while saying the sect leader gave it to me, so I looked into my dantian and easily grasped a strand of Qi. Trying not to lose focus and marvel at how easy it had been to grasp it, I quickly directed it through my body to the finger touching the ring and pushed the Qi out of my body to the ring. What I found nearly made me drop the ring, there was a lot more inside it than just the two scrolls Zhang Mei had mentioned. However, my attention was immediately drawn to a small cupboard off to the side with a few scrolls sitting on its shelves and a sticky note on the side that seemed to be consuming my attention. Finding myself unable to look away, I read the sticky note and the moment I finished reading it, it turned to ash.
"Kenna, I have no doubt your mentor will abandon you now that you have reached the foundation establishment realm and can be considered a member of the outer sect of this sect ship. So I will gift you these scrolls to help shore up the common knowledge expected of a golden core disciple. Honestly, it's not much, just a who's who and where you can find everything as well as how to complete some tasks that will soon be expected of you. In case you are worrying about it, yes, I did place a Qi wall between what Zhang Mei can see and the rest of the ring, so she has no idea what is inside. You may also be wondering why I am giving this to you, well I'm not, this ring is simply being returned the long way around. You see, it belonged to a cultivator that decided to abolish his cultivation and head into the Galactic Federations territory as a spy. Maybe one day I will tell you who he was. But we have drifted from the point, inside you will find the entire inheritance of the man once known as the Divine Emperor of alchemy and formations, it all now belongs to you."
