Adam and Solène stood before the imposing figure of Dravhark, the boy with a resolute expression and the redhead girl with a wide, ear-to-ear grin. Adam had received the cube containing the Empress's powers from Emir just in time, for it was at the exact moment he recovered all of it that the dragon's skill had activated.
Adam's racial trait, [Enhanced Malediction Reversal], had immediately taken over, absorbing the power of the [Cursed Dragon Fear] and converting all of its curses into buffs. The debuffs of [Fear], [Weakness], [Paralyze], and [Vulnerability] had been transformed into the immense power of [Brave Heart], [Strength Up], [High Mobility], and [High Resistance], giving the boy far more physical advantages than usual.
On the other hand, a peculiar thing had happened to Solène: the dragon's roar had not affected her in the slightest… The reason for this was that dragons in any world were a proud and powerful race, and most of their racial skills did not work against members of their own species who belonged to a different dragon race. In this case, the roar of the Darkness Dragon had no effect on the girl, who was a High Dragonborn, a race created by mixing the genes of a Red Dragon and a War Dragon.
Dravhark stared at them for a moment, as if he were feeling something. However, while he was still analyzing them, Adam and Solène launched themselves at him at the same time, Adam emanating a large amount of cursed energy, and Solène transforming her right arm into a dragon's claw and using her skill, [Flame of Rebecca], to generate a massive ball of golden fire in her hand.
Immediately, two spectral, dragon-like wings, which looked as if they were withered, emerged from Adam's back, and two red dragon wings sprouted from Solène's back. Both of them used their wings to launch themselves into the air at full speed, flanking Dravhark, who was still lost in thought, as if he were debating something with himself, and didn't even notice the two who were about to attack him.
It was then that Adam channeled one of the new powers that the Empress had unlocked in him since the previous scenario when she possessed his body, a skill that was, by far, the most destructive he had at his disposal. He employed the skills [Corrupt Divine Energy] and [Celestial Curse Mastery] to generate an amalgam of corrupt divine energy in one of his arms. Adam and the Empress had a small conversation at that moment.
"Are you sure this will work?"
Adam asked, just for the Empress to respond using his own mouth.
"Of course it will work. This is based on the divine energy of the goddess you turned into your 'daughter', it is so strong that it can even affect a divine being."
Adam gritted his teeth and ended the conversation.
"Okay, then let's do it!"
And with that, he launched the sphere of energy at the dragon. From the other side, Solène did the same, making her golden flame grow to the same level as Adam's corrupt energy, and launching it at the same time.
Both energies impacted Dravhark directly with great force, but to their astonishment, they simply hit something similar to an invisible wall and completely disintegrated. Adam and Solène screamed at the same time.
"What!?"
After that, a system window appeared in front of them.
[The unique racial passive [Blessing of the Sons of Vharzun] has nullified the enemy's skills!]But even with that, Dravhark seemed not to even notice what had happened. He was still lost in thought, as if everything was of no concern to him. But a second later, finally, his face lit up, as he said.
"Ah! I see. I understand."
With that, his long, sharp tail appeared in a flash where Adam and Solène were flying, pushing the girl toward the earth with a powerful blow but passing through Adam, who used his skill, [Spectral Mist Step], to become mist and avoid the attack. This, however, only seemed to amuse the dragon, who began to laugh softly.
"I didn't expect to find something like you in this world."
He said in a surprised tone in his voice.
"I have killed countless species, but I have never seen anything like you."
He then looked at Adam, who was flying with a look of worry on his face.
"You are a 'Holy Undead', so to speal."
He said with a ferocious grin.
"A cursed entity that also has divine power. That is extremely difficult to do, and the only other entity I know that is like that is my own father."
He then looked at Solène, who had quickly recovered from the impact and was now approached by the two Drakes.
"You are also a dragon… Or at least, you are in essence. I can smell it. I can feel it. That is why my roar did not affect you. I did not expect to find a small hatchling in this place, much less one who is on the side of these humans."
Dravhark lost himself in thought once more, saying aloud.
"But what should I do? Killing them would be a waste, but I can't take them as a gift for my father while they are still living. Or can I? Hmmm..."
While the dragon was lost in thought once more, Drake, who still couldn't understand how the hell Solène was there, decided not to give it any more thought and speak directly to her.
"From what we've seen, the barrier that protects the dragon from any skill doesn't protect him from physical attacks. But getting close is still almost impossible."
However, Solène reacted differently than they expected.
"Oh, you don't say..."
She said as her smile widened, saying that knowing that was more than enough. With that, she transformed her other arm into a dragon's claw and was about to move, but Drake grabbed her by the sleeve of her shirt.
"Let us help. We can do something, even in our condition."
Said the blond in a heavy voice. Alter Drake, on the other hand, was silent, looking at Solène with a completely astonished expression.
The girl turned to look at the blond guy, slightly annoyed by the interruption; however, she suddenly recognized him.
"Wait, I remember you... The one who came flying on his sword. Yes, yes, you were quite tough. I like that... I don't know why there are two of you, but hey, the more, the better, right?"
She said with a wide smile that showed off her sharp teeth. However, her smile began to fade as she saw the two of them in their current state, looking far too weak to do anything.
"You two are still marked by the dragon's attack… But it doesn't matter. Just stay still, and I will take care of it."
She took a whiff, and from her other arm, which was now a dragon's claw, a flame similar to the golden one, but blue, appeared and grew in size.
"This will only hurt you a lot, but it will be quick."

She said, with her macabre smile returning to her face. As she said this, Drake and alter Drake looked at each other, stunned and a little nervous.
But then, before Solène could do anything else, Dravhark's words filled the air. He seemed to have stopped his thoughts for a moment as he noticed what was happening.
"No, no, no. That is not right, you mischievous little hatchling. Helping mortals is not something a dragon should do. But don't worry, I know what to do to fix this."
With that, he puffed out his chest, and before anyone could do anything, he let out a gigantic torrent of black fire at them, incinerating them to the bone... Or that's what Dravhark "knew" was supposed to happen.
Before his very eyes, the torrent of black fire was suddenly and unnaturally halted. It began to swirl in a tight vortex, and instead of incinerating the targets, it was being drawn directly into Adam's open mouth, who had appeared there. Dravhark watched in utter disbelief as the cursed fire, the very essence of his being, was completely consumed, leaving nothing but a small, insignificant wisp of smoke behind.
How was this possible? His fire was not only cursed fire; it also carried the 'Ashen VoidBlight' cursed virus. Not even an undead could resist that, and yet, this strange being had consumed it all without a problem.
"Phew... Would it be strange if I said that this is one of the best things I have ever eaten?"
Adam said with a long sigh after finishing consuming the fire. Drake, from behind, laughed.
"Yeah, a little."
Solène took advantage of the moment and launched her blue fire at the two Drakes. The fire enveloped them, and a powerful, searing pain shot through their bodies, a pain so immense that it made them scream in agony. They were being burned alive, but there was no physical damage, as the pain was not a pain of the body, but of the soul. The curses in their bodies were being burned away, and they could feel the curses escaping their bodies as black smoke, a horrifying, beautiful sight on equal parts. After the debuffs escaped their bodies, the fire dissipated, and the two boys, whose bodies were now fully healed, fell to their knees, gasping for air.
"Well…"
Solène said, her macabre smile returning to her face.
"As good as new, you two. Are you going to join the party?"
For any other person, the pain they had suffered would have been enough to make them unable to move for a long time, but that was not the case for the two Drakes. Even with their bodies still sore, they quickly got up, a determined look on their faces.
"Of course!"
They said at the same time. Drake once again brandished his legendary jade sword, and alter Drake manifested his golden mace.
Immediately after, the wings of the four individuals expanded, a beautiful and terrifying sight. Drake's wings were made of pure divine energy that was similar to tentacles. Alter Drake's wings were angelic and white. Solène's wings were those of a red dragon, and Adam's wings were spectral and undead-like. They all flew at Dravhark once more, who was still in a state of shock, but upon seeing them, he reacted. If his fire, for some reason, was useless against these strange beings, he would just have to try something else... But first, he would get rid of those two humans who had come back to the fight.
Dravhark roared once more, using his [Cursed Dragon Fear] as the four users were approaching. However, in a moment, Solène and Adam took the lead and screamed back.
"Dragon Fear!"
Solène screamed, and Adam, with the Empress's voice, shouted.
"Banshee's Torment!"
Both skills launched supernatural sonic waves that impacted the dragon's roar, nullifying it. For the first time, Dravhark screamed in confusion.
"What!?"
He was so surprised that he did not react when Drake and alter Drake, who had reached his head, delivered a series of ferocious attacks on his eyes. Drake, with a powerful slash to his right eye, and alter Drake with a powerful blow to his left, which, although it did not seem to do any real damage, made the dragon growl in anger.
Meanwhile, Adam and Solène had reached the dragon's gigantic body and were now climbing it with a frightening speed. The redhead used her claws to tear off the dragon's scales, which seemed to be working, but the damage was not significant. Adam, on the other hand, had invoked his [Malzaphir's Forbidden Tome], and from it, he had extracted the cursed weapon, 'Az'Karul's Versebreaker Spear'... He had also noticed that Malzaphir was unusually silent during all of this, but he did not have time to think about it. He brandished the spear and, with it, began to chip away at the dragon's scales.
The fight continued for what felt like an eternity. Dravhark tried to defend himself with his massive arms, but the four users were too fast. Every time he tried to hit one of them, the others would take the opportunity to attack him, doing more damage. In a moment, Dravhark, out of desperation, sent out a torrent of black fire at Drake, who was a little bit far away from the others, but Adam, seeing his intention, managed to get there in time to absorb the fire again, which angered Dravhark even more.
After quite a bit of time, Dravhark had reached his limit.
"Enough!"
He roared, his presence a powerful, physical force that made the air around them heavy. Adam used his [Cursed Vision] automatically to see what was happening.
[Draconic Presence Lv13] [Additional Information] [An intermediate skill of the dragon race that allows the user to exert pressure on the surroundings. It causes any living being of a lower level than the user to have their mobility drastically reduced.]Unlike the roar and other attacks, this was a racial area of effect skill and not a cursed one, so both Adam and the others suffered its effects directly. They felt their speed decrease dramatically, enough for the dragon to finally reach them with his claws, or at least that was his intention. Adam, however, turned into a mist and, using all the speed he could muster, pulled them one by one out of the way.
Dravhark was furious. The fight had gone on for too long, and for some reason, he had begun to feel that the number of Draclings he had brought with him, which were besieging the refugee settlement, had begun to fall at an alarming rate. He had no idea what was happening, but it was enough.
"It is not possible for beings as low as you to even think of facing a son of Vharzun."
He said in a booming roar.
"The mere idea is a disgrace to the natural order of things. It doesn't matter how strange this Undead is, how special the weapons of those two humans are, or that one of you is a member of the dragonkind. The offense has gone for far too long."
Dravhark roared again, and it was then that the impossible happened... The moment he did, Adam's spear disappeared, Drake's sword vanished, and alter Drake's armor and mace did the same. The only one who was not affected was Solène, as her dragon arms and wings were still with her, but the fire that had been around them disappeared as well… What the hell had just happened? Adam was able to see information about the skill responsible for that.
[By Decree of the Dragon God's Son Lv14] [Additional Information] [A skill exclusive to the 'Sons of Vharzun' that allows them to create a field around them where all enemy skills are nullified and impossible to use without the user's permission.] [Cursed Vision Knowledge] [Notice: Physical or racial abilities are not affected.]Adam could not help but scream.
"We have to get out of here!"
He warned, his voice filled with a powerful urgency.
"It's a sealing area, our skills are gone!"
But Dravhark simply looked at them with a triumphant, sadistic smile, knowing that he had finally won.
The dragon lunged forward at the four users, who had no way to get away in time. Adam tried to use his [Spectral Mist Step], and Drake his [Heavenly Wind Step], but neither of them worked. Only Solène, with her dragon wings, was able to do something, but she couldn't save all of them.
However, before the dragon could reach them with its mouth open, a loud, earth-shattering roar was heard from the sky, a sound so powerful that even Dravhark stopped, confused, and looked up. A massive, black storm cloud had gathered above them, and a series of powerful lightning bolts began to spiral into a single point.
"What is that!?"
Dravhark said, a look of confusion on his face. He was not prepared for what was to come… The lightning bolt, which had been storing all its energy, shot down from the sky like a hammer, hitting the dragon directly with a force so powerful that it created a shockwave. The electricity from the lightning bolt coursed through Dravhark's body, and for the first time in his existence, the dragon screamed in real pain.
Adam, Drake, and alter Drake all looked up, their faces a mix of confusion and awe. Solène, on the other hand, was not happy at all. A figure jumped from Dravhark's body, landing in front of them with its back turned to them. It was a man, wearing a mechanical suit of futuristic armor, or so it seemed... A system screen appeared before Adam.
[Rüegg & Volta's Magnum Opus: Battlerizer Suit - Rank S] [Additional Information] [The item is of too high a level. No data is available for the moment.]"Fear not!"
A clearly familiar voice said from the man in the suit.
"The time is due, and I'm here!"
Drake and Adam, whose faces were a mix of shock and awe, looked at each other, just for Adam to finally say what was on his mind.
"Falk!?"
