Age of Dungeons

Special Announcement: New Story started

Thanks for reading Age of dungeons. If you enjoyed it, then I can almost guarantee that you will like my new project Dungeon Wars. The stories are quite different in how they are carried out, but they are both dungeon core stories where the MC is not a third party observer to everything that occurs, although he is still sidelined during battles.

Synopsis: Peter reincarnates as a dungeon core along 99 other rookie cores. He quickly realizes that deciding his core type is only the first of a litany of decisions he will have to make to survive. Peter along with the other rookie cores are instantly set against each other, with six millennial cores reigning supreme. Even if Peter is able to survive the core factional strife and the dungeon battles, he will face getting culled by one of the millennials before he makes it to 1,000 years himself. It will require navigating the political waters including dealing with the millennial factions (undead, demon, insect, elemental, reptile, and void) as well as other burgeoning factions concept, beast, golem... but it will also include dealing with limited resources including gathering essence (main currency) and trading support and card type cards.

Like my last story this story focuses on the dungeon battles and the annual dungeon core congregations, with the normal dungeon essence collection quickly taking a back seat. It will be highly strategy focused as Peter builds various forces and develops his dungeons auxiliary capabilities.

This story is different however in several areas. For one I will not be near as focused on the details. While my excel spreadsheet will account for it all, I'm not going to bog down the story detailing every facet. Also dungeon research developments will be more real life with no set technology advancements (instead think wizards working to develop new enchantments, magical traps, spells, etc... Engineers working to develop new weapons/equipment and so on...) However, the biggest difference will be more character interaction. He will trade and ally with other dungeon cores at the annual congregations, then will work with his own 'staff'. Goal is less of me telling you what was developed and more character interaction into it. Already my main character has a half dozen plus staff, that are clearly distinguished characters, along with just as many allied cores.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Another big change will be that my main character will be on the elite track from the get go. I think a big turn off for Age of Dungeons was that the MC was constantly on the back foot most of the story. For this story, my MC will have his work cut out for him dealing with older dungeons and major factions, but he will be a clear front runner for his year group from the start. He will still struggle and have to learn and adapt (I normally dislike the heavily over powered protagonist stories where they don't even work for it).

Currently, I have 50 chapters of this story completed although chapters are generally 500-1000 words shorter. Regardless, my goal is to keep up a 2 to 3 week chapter posting until the story is done after my initial chapter dump and subsequent daily posting for the first few weeks. Still I should have enough of a back log to keep ahead for a good while. One of the reasons why I have been sitting on it for now is so that I can really hone in the initial chapters as well as to get all my summer vacation/travel out of the way. I hope you're as excited as I am. Even from where I am at I can confidently say that Dungeon wars needs far less polishing than Age of dungeons would have at the same stage.

*This is a bit of a change from my last update. I did start a super hero story as I had been planning, but quickly realized that it would take a lot more effort and planning to make the story be what I envisioned. I would struggle to meet any posting schedule while giving it the thought it would need, so I will continue to develop it while working on Dungeon Wars.*

Next chapter will be updated first on this website. Come back and continue reading tomorrow, everyone!
