Dimensional Hotel

Chapter 191 Blood Transfer

Yu Sheng's reason was obviously a joke.

In the end, Little Red Riding Hood still called the "guardians" of the orphanage into the room, but not with the excuse of "ordering takeout". She simply said there was an important matter to discuss, and soon a group of people entered the room.

Yu Sheng stood up and looked around, naturally not recognizing most of them, so he turned to Little Red Riding Hood and asked, "Is everyone here?"

"A few people have to stay in the dormitory area to look after the younger ones," Little Red Riding Hood said, "We'll take turns, to be safe."

"Oh, that works too," Yu Sheng nodded, then his eyes caught something from the corner, making him raise an eyebrow, "…why is there a cat here?"

He was surprised to see a tabby cat sitting openly on the windowsill nearby, looking as if it was there for the meeting too, with an air of arrogance, which shocked him greatly.

Before Yu Sheng finished speaking, he saw the cat lift a paw to lick and lazily said, "Why can't I be here?"

Yu Sheng: "…?!"

Not just Yu Sheng, even Erin and Hu Li were stunned, the three of them stared wide-eyed at the tabby cat that spoke with a deep, magnetic voice like a documentary narrator. After a long moment, they all exclaimed in unison, "It spoke!!"

"It's the 'King'," Little Red Riding Hood finally stood up and introduced to Yu Sheng with a half-smile, seemingly pleased that Yu Sheng was so shocked for once, "also a member of our 'Fairy Tales' organization, and quite senior too—by the way, it's very strong, second only to our generation's best fighter, 'Snow White'."

A petite girl with ear-length short hair raised her hand: "For the record, I am 'Snow White'."

Yu Sheng listened in a daze, his expression stiff as if struck by lightning for two hours. After at least half a minute, he finally "woke up", his gaze shifting several times between the dignified tabby cat and Little Red Riding Hood, finally squeezing out a sentence: "…Why?"

He didn't even know why he asked why—his mind was just filled with the question, why?

"Oh, that's a long story," the tabby cat on the windowsill spoke again, still with the magnetic voice of a documentary narrator, "When I was a kitten, I wandered the streets, a passing child gave me a piece of bread—so I followed him home. That night, he had a dream, and I fell into it. When I woke up again, I learned to think like a human..."

Yu Sheng listened in amazement to this story, a feeling of bizarre abstraction arose, despite having seen a lot of abstract things here, this situation was still too outlandish for him. As he began to wonder if the cat's story made any sense in the Boundary Land, his eyes suddenly noticed Little Red Riding Hood winking at him.

"Don't believe it," Little Red Riding Hood whispered, "a different version each time."

Yu Sheng hesitated for a moment: "Then..."

"Nobody knows what's going on, not even it," Little Red Riding Hood shook her head, "When it first entered the orphanage, we thought it was just a stray cat from outside, until it suddenly summoned an adventurer team and knocked over several people."

The tabby cat on the windowsill waved its paw at Little Red Riding Hood: "I can hear you!"

Little Red Riding Hood spread her hands, looking at Yu Sheng: "That's it, though we don't understand it, we confirmed it's influenced by 'Fairy Tales', so we made it an official member. This time, we're testing if your plan affects special individuals like the 'King' as well."

Yu Sheng didn't know how to respond for a moment, sighing at how little he had experienced here. He glanced at Erin, but the little puppet turned her head away: "Don't look at me, I haven't seen it either."

Yu Sheng then looked at Hu Li.

Hu Li stared at the cat for a long while, suddenly his eyes lit up and he clapped: "Oh! It's an Innate Strange Beast sensing nature's spiritual energy!"

"…Damn, I envy this silly fox," Erin sighed, holding her head, "such a simple and happy way to live..."

"Red Hat Sister," Snow White suddenly spoke, "let's get back to business. Why did you call us here for a meeting?"

Little Red Riding Hood immediately turned to look at Yu Sheng.

"Ahem, let me explain," Yu Sheng coughed, standing up from the couch, looking around—he didn't recognize most people here, but he knew they probably heard about him from Little Red Riding Hood, "Simply put, I have a 'defense' plan..."

Yu Sheng explained his plan concisely, also mentioning the background and current situation of Little Red Riding Hood and Xiao Xiao. He briefly introduced his "special" traits—though omitting some details, he made clear the relationship between "blood" and the "wilderness".

As expected, after he finished, the room fell into a long silence.

The teenagers exchanged glances, nobody spoke, doubts apparent on nearly every face.

This news is quite sudden, this plan is somewhat absurd, and if it weren't for Little Red Riding Hood's "strong guarantee," Yu Sheng would even think that he himself is "suspicious" in this place.

"It's normal for everyone to have concerns, so this meeting is mainly just to discuss first," finally, Little Red Riding Hood broke the silence, "Firstly, about what Yu Sheng said, I can prove it's indeed true. Xiao Xiao and I have already been to that 'wilderness,' and we didn't experience any 'side effects' from contacting his blood. But what's uncertain is the effectiveness of this 'protection mechanism' since so far, Xiao Xiao and I have only triggered the process of jumping from the Black Forest to the wilderness once. Moreover, it's about... whether everyone is willing to establish such a 'Blood Covenant' kind of connection with a third party."

Clearly, the last sentence Little Red Riding Hood mentioned was the key concern for everyone present.

"Blood Covenant," in the field of mysticism, is always a sensitive topic. Establishing a Blood Covenant with an unknown entity always carries tremendous risks. This is not just a rejection or resistance towards Yu Sheng personally, but rather a necessary cautious attitude of these "grown-ups" who'd been Spirit Realm detectives for several years.

Even Yu Sheng himself wasn't sure if his plan actually counted as a "Blood Covenant."

"Oh, stop hesitating," Erin, who was impatient, finally stood up from the sofa when she saw everybody still hesitating, including the cat, "Now that the Angel Sect has targeted you, and you're already in a precarious state, you should seize the opportunity..."

Little Red Riding Hood shook her head, "Precisely because we might die anytime, we need to be extra careful while we're alive."

Erin had nothing to say.

Then Little Red Riding Hood clapped her hands and turned towards everyone in the room, "Everyone, let's go to the next room for discussions. No hurry."

It was obvious that the almost-adult Little Red Riding Hood had high authority among everyone here (except the cat, who always acted haughty). When she finished speaking, everyone quickly left the room without any questions.

The cat followed last, and as it left the room, it looked back at Yu Sheng with a serious gaze.

"I'll go and keep an eye too," Little Red Riding Hood nodded at Yu Sheng.

Yu Sheng didn't say anything, just waved his hand.

Little Red Riding Hood left, and the room fell silent.

Hu Li dug into his tail and took out two chicken legs, handing one to Yu Sheng, "Savior, have a chicken leg."

Yu Sheng casually ruffled Hu Li's tail, "You eat it, I'm not hungry."

And so, Hu Li's sound of devouring two chicken legs in one breath echoed in the quiet room.

Yu Sheng continued to wait patiently, not showing any signs of anxiety.

After a while, he heard footsteps at the doorway.

The door opened, and Little Red Riding Hood entered, followed by a petite, fragile figure – it was the girl with the codename "Snow White."

Yu Sheng raised an eyebrow at the sight, "Looks like the first test subject has been chosen."

Little Red Riding Hood nodded, "Yes, we decided to let one person try it out first."

"Why her?" Yu Sheng asked curiously, quickly adding, "Just curious, casually asking."

"There's nothing we can't answer, because apart from me, Snow White is the most unstable," Little Red Riding Hood said calmly, "She is the most destructive among us, but because her power is released too quickly, her erosion level is very high – sixteen years old, and she's almost in the same state as me. Now she basically gets dragged into nightmares every day, making her suitable to verify whether your 'protection' mechanism works."

The petite girl with the codename "Snow White" slowly walked to Yu Sheng, staring unblinkingly at him.

"What do I need to do?" she asked curiously, "Do I need to perform a ritual similar to Spirit Communication or contracted spirit?"

"It's not that complicated," Yu Sheng smiled, casually taking out a small knife and slashing his own hand, "Suck."

Snow White, who had been serious until the previous second, instantly froze, "…Huh?"

Seeing this situation, Yu Sheng thought it might be a bit shocking for someone unfamiliar, so he pondered for a moment, "Should I find you a straw?"

Snow White once again, "…Huh?"
