Dimensional Hotel

Chapter 235: Rebirth and Fusion

The angel fell from the earth, falling towards the sky.

Li Lin and his colleagues at the Special Service Bureau stood under the night sky, as if being led by an invisible hand, they looked up, staring blankly at the light slowly ascending in the sky, watching it rise higher and higher, and then gradually disintegrate from within. During this process, more than one person suddenly conjured up some "illusions" in their minds—

They felt that the cluster of light suddenly turned into a gigantic metallic construct, silver-white and bulging in the middle like a "seed", with several glowing circular structures at its tail. It rose from the yard of the orphanage, but in the next moment, it became immensely large, so large that it covered the entire sky.

They also felt that inside that cluster of light, flesh and blood grew. It turned into a bizarre and twisted creature, seemingly made up of countless mixed limbs, reaching out innumerable arms towards the sky, then gradually melting into the light.

Li Lin felt that he saw a stone, a huge, irregular stone covered with moss and tiny sprouts. It flew higher and higher, singing a broken song from afar. It proclaimed it came from the stars to plant on earth, and now everything was over, the seed was going home...

So it started to fall towards the stars.

The light split into countless scorching streams like a reversed meteor shower accelerating in the sky above the Boundary Land, then further split during the later part of the process. Some continued to "fall" towards the sky, while others gently drifted away from the main fragments, starting to descend towards the distance.

Baili Qing crossed her arms and stood on the ground, quietly watching this scene. Her eyes tracked each fragment splitting in the sky, analyzing their potential landing points, then she picked up her phone.

"Song, send several retrieval teams. Lead one yourself. Hmm, some fragments might fall within the outskirts of the Boundary Land. I'll send you the approximate range later—prepare the highest level of protection; we can't yet confirm if the angel's remains are harmful after disintegration..."

Hu Li and Erin stood not far from Baili Qing, also looking up together. After a long while, Hu Li murmured softly, "Quite spectacular."

"Just gone like that," Erin pouted, then turned to look towards the orphanage, "...this place is almost leveled to the ground too."

"Little Red Riding Hood and the others might have to stay in the valley for a long time," Hu Li pondered, "I wonder how our savior's situation is."

"Who knows? But he must be very busy now. After dealing with the two connections of the Exotic Realm, he probably has to go to the valley," Erin said while climbing up Hu Li's tail, "Oh, don't worry, he'll definitely come home after he's done. Let's go home and wait for him first..."

Hu Li raised his tail and wrapped Erin in his arms, "Alright! Let's go home and make breakfast for our savior!"

"Wait, aren't we getting a cab?"

"Savior said that there wouldn't be any cabs at this hour, but it's fine, I know the way!"

"Hey, no, there are so many Special Service Bureau officers here, we can hitch a ride from them, they'll definitely be eager to help us now..."

"I know the way! My nose is very good!"

"... At least put your tail away! And don't suddenly run... Crap, ahhhhh——"

The roaring sound quickly faded into the night, under the stunned gaze of a group of Special Service Bureau officers, a fox running at seventy mph with a doll yelling in his arms sped off into the distance...

...

Now, everything has quieted down.

The wolf pack of Little Red Riding Hood had retreated, the King's knight order and the adventurers had also withdrawn, as well as Dorothy's resistance army, Snow White's Thunderbolt Titans... When the invisible curtain fell, the protagonists of the story left this ruined stage, just as every story's ending says—they are going to live a happy life.

Only the stage remains, slowly cooling down in the afterglow of the dissipating smoke.

The giant rift is gradually disintegrating from top to bottom, dissolving.

Yu Sheng climbed up a slope, silently sitting beside a charred giant tree, looking at the scarred wasteland—once a Black Forest now burned to ashes. The Titan's power had torn apart this land, and the craters left by the bombardments had left countless marks on the fractured surface. And the sky... the sky looked like a broken mirror, tilting above the forest, large dark cracks making it appear somewhat terrifying. In the still-lit areas, parts of the dome still covered by the faint dusk, other places reflected castles, farmlands, and villages.

Fragments fell from the clouds. Yu Sheng reached out and caught one, seeing it was a piece of broken blue sky, with fireplace flames joyfully dancing on its edge, making slight crackling sounds.

He casually placed this intersecting and broken piece of blue sky on the ground beside him, putting it next to the "Queen's" head—now that head had turned into a cracked stone, with a short sword bearing a cat's head emblem stuck in its forehead.

The Hunter stood nearby, this hollow and void figure still wearing their hunter's clothes, looking at the burnt-down Black Forest. Ta said nothing, only a long silence.

The squirrel then jumped out from the nearby ashes, shaking off the dust, gracefully leaping onto Yu Sheng's knee, placing a small object into Yu Sheng's hand: "Here! I found this in a nearby dirt pile!"

Yu Sheng opened his palm, seeing it was an acorn.

He slowly rubbed the acorn, looking at the nearly dissipated rift not far away, and the increasingly faint shadow above it.

"It's about time…"

Yu Sheng suddenly whispered.

As if to respond to his words, at the moment his voice fell, the sky above the Black Forest, cracked like a broken mirror, emitted a series of cracking sounds, and then the Black Forest started to gradually collapse from afar.

The squirrel nervously grasped Yu Sheng's finger.

She noticed that the finger was rapidly turning cold.

She looked up in surprise and saw Yu Sheng's body gradually dissipating.

"Don't be afraid, it's just a little… 'state switch'," Yu Sheng smiled, looking at the little one sitting on his lap, all the while recalling the knowledge and the deeper mysteries of death he had understood when the 'Angel's Embryo' dissipated in his hands, "Wait for me a moment, I'll be right back."

This was his first time attempting to switch himself from the 'alive' state to the 'dead' state without suffering any harm.

It was simpler than he imagined, just like toggling a light, nimble switch.

Click.

Yu Sheng turned into scattering ashes, then spread out like clouds and mist, gradually immersing into this rapidly disintegrating 'Fairy Tale Wasteland'.

And then, the story began—

A long, long time ago, there was a valley without a name; people said it was the "backyard" of No. 66 Wutong Road.

This "backyard" had many magical features, the most magical being that it led to many incredible places.

To its south, there was a large forest where Little Red Riding Hood and her wolf pack lived. In the forest, there was also an adorable squirrel and a silent hunter.

To its north, there was a very tall tower where Rapunzel had a beautiful little room at the top and a balcony from which she could see far into the distance and spot a sleeping giant dragon and an enormous beanstalk.

There was also a joyful and bustling banquet hall, a small town always celebrating different festivals, and a port filled with the scent of sea breeze…

And there was a peculiar kingdom, where the King was a cat—people said this cat was the greatest king ever, under whose rule the knights were brave and fearless, the wise ministers were loyal, adventurers would set out in the morning to conquer monsters, and by evening, they would return as victorious heroes, telling tales from afar at the tavern…

And many, many more places, many, many more stories.

And all of these were connected to the valley in various ways because within that valley were many doors—strange, clever, secret, or astonishing doors—they could be a room in the northern tower, a cave at the foot of the mountain, or even a tree hollow in the Black Forest, a dappled shadow...

Children could wildly explore these secret paths, climbing into the castle's banquet from Cinderella's fireplace, or pushing open a wardrobe door in the castle to arrive in a mysterious flower field deep in the Black Forest…

Countless surprises waiting to fill their entire childhood.

A happy ending.

...

Little Red Riding Hood heard the rumbling from deep within the valley. It sounded like the mountains suddenly came to life, striding forward like giants, shifting their massive bodies, and making way for something.

She walked out of her room, even though the long battle within the 'Dream Realm' had left her mentally exhausted, she still wanted to see what changes were happening in the distance.

After all, previously Erin had hurriedly appeared, pulled everyone to the Sanctuary Wilderness, said some vague things like "There will be big changes in the valley when you wake up", "Stay at the camp, don't wander around", "Even if the sky falls, it's just technical adjustments", "Yu Sheng has gone into creation mode" and then disappeared into thin air. Until now, everyone was still puzzled and had no idea what was happening.

Many of the younger kids also came out from nearby houses.

Everyone's faces bore the fatigue from the previous fierce battle, some still carried slight unease, but there were others—like Snow White and Rapunzel, the cheerful ones—who clearly had eyes filled with anticipation.

Little Red Riding Hood was the first to notice the change, which was also the most prominent change visible from this spot.

She stood in the middle of the camp, pointing dumbfoundedly into the distance: "...Rapunzel! Your tower sprang up from over there!"

"What do you mean my tower… Holy cat!"
