Yang Yan scanned the eight characters and naturally did not care.
He had already come in, so what was there to fear from the threat of these eight characters?
After looking, he stepped into the underground palace.
Just as he crossed the stone tablet, the ground of the underground palace creaked.
The whole ground split apart, and stone statues clad in armor rose from below, blocking Yang Yan's path.
The sound of swords being drawn rang out, as two statues pulled swords from their waists.
They aimed directly at Yang Yan and slashed toward him.
Their movements were stiff, yet the power they exerted was undeniably potent.
"An ordinary cultivator in the Immortal Realm would definitely be no match for them."
Just two statues wielded such power, truly extraordinary.
The strength of the statues Yang Yan encountered on the Human List was not much lesser.
*Perhaps, they were even stronger.*
"Too bad they cannot be made to serve me!" Yang Yan waved his hand and slashed through the two statues, advancing once more.
The ground split open further, revealing more statues.
Their power grew stronger, some even reaching the strength of the King's Fifth Realm.
Some even attained the Half-Saint Body!
But they only had physical strength and did not understand Profound Qi or the Great Dao.
When faced with Yang Yan, whose physique surpassed the Emperor Body and Emperor's Weapon,
it was like an egg hitting a boulder, utterly unable to withstand a strike.
Yang Yan reached the palace entrance and saw the scene inside.
Inside, it resembled a court with civil and military officials standing imposingly.
They were also all statues, and if they came to life, Yang Yan thought their strength might reach the level of a Saint Body.
He stepped inside, and instantly felt a wave of oppression and pressure.
Rumble!
The statues of the civil and military officials within the court turned, all looking at him.
Yang Yan ignored them, his gaze fixed on the figure at the highest point of the hall.
It was a statue of a young man in a dragon robe, exuding authority without anger.
It sat alone as if it were the Emperor, overlooking the world.
*"Is this the statue of Emperor Shi?"* Yang Yan thought to himself.
When their gazes met, the statue opened its mouth.
"Who are you, Your Highness? State your name!"
The voice was loud like a great bell, resounding in his ears.
Yang Yan clasped his hands behind his back.
"My name is Yang Yan!"
The statue spoke again,
"Why have you entered my Imperial Mausoleum? Do you know that none who enter can leave, and must accompany me in burial?"
Yang Yan shook his head.
"I do not know!"
His purpose in entering was only for treasure.
Regardless of whose mausoleum it was, he was set on robbing it today.
Even if Emperor Shi were alive, he could not stop him.
"Where is the Great General!" the statue commanded.
Rumble!
Amidst the civil and military officials of the court, a tall statue clad in armor moved forward.
"I am here!"
"Go and slay him!"
"Yes, Your Majesty!"
The Great General statue turned and charged straight at Yang Yan.
Yang Yan was undeterred and struck with a punch.
The Emperor's Power was unleashed with a punch, sweeping across the scene.
The Great General statue before him was pulverized to dust.
The terrifying force shattered the entire palace.
The statue sitting at the highest point was also swept away by his punch.
Once the dust settled, only ruins and broken walls remained in front of Yang Yan.
All the statues were destroyed by him.
"There is a treasure!"
Yang Yan walked into the ruins and saw a sword embedded within.
The sword was a bronze sword, covered in rust, looking like a broken sword.
However, though the sword appeared broken, it remained unmoved, even as statues comparable to a Saint Body were shattered by his punch, which spoke to its power.
Yang Yan reached for the bronze sword, grasping the sword handle, and exerted force to pull the bronze sword from the ground.
In the next moment, Yang Yan's hand felt pricked as if by needles.
*"What is happening?"*
His cells moved, allowing Yang Yan to see why the bronze sword had pricked his hand.
It turned out that the rust on it was like a living thing.
When Yang Yan touched it, the rust spread to his hand.
Aiming to corrode his physique, trying to make him rust as well.
*"Could the Emperor Body be corroded by it as well?"* Yang Yan's expression became solemn.
The Emperor Body!
Time could only age it, and only the Emperor's Weapon could shake it.
Yet the rust on this bronze sword could corrode the Emperor Body.
Fire and thunder surged from Yang Yan's cells.
He tried to expel the rust, finding it unaffected.
Only combined with the changes of the Emperor Body could he barely manage to resist, forcing the rust to retreat.
*"What is the nature of this rust?"*
The rust receded back to the bronze sword, and Yang Yan carefully examined the rust on the bronze sword.
He discovered it resembled bloodstains.
*"Did Emperor Shi once use this sword to slay a powerful being, and the blood of that being contaminated this sword?"* Yang Yan speculated.
Unfortunately, there was only this bronze sword here, with no records about the sword.
He placed the sword into a separate storage bag and stored it in his secret realm as suppression.
This dangerous item could still serve as a surprise weapon.
If faced with a stronger opponent, he only needed to slash with it.
Even just a graze could lead the rust to spread onto the opponent, corroding them.
*"Is this the only sword?"*
Yang Yan searched again but found nothing else.
*"This is the Imperial Mausoleum? Where is Emperor Shi's body?
Is it not here?"*
*Without a body, how could it be called an Imperial Mausoleum?*
*"Could it have only been buried to inter this sword?"*
The bronze sword was definitely a treasure!
After all, the rust on it could corrode even the Emperor Body, yet it could not corrode the bronze sword itself.
*It was evident how powerful this sword was.*
It was at least comparable to the Emperor's Weapon!
He turned back, intending to collect the statues from the pits beside the underground palace.
"They should also be alive. Even if they can't attain the Immortal Realm, it's close enough.
Bringing them back might be useful!"
Yang Yan collected the statues and discovered a side hall next to the underground palace.
Inside, apart from some statues, there were many murals.
The murals depicted many deeds of Emperor Shi.
After viewing them, Yang Yan gained some understanding of the Daqin Immortal Country's Emperor Shi.
When he reached the last mural, he noticed it depicted a scene of clouds and mist.
A palace was suspended within the clouds, like an Immortal Palace!
"Heavenly Immortal Palace? It seems the Daqin Immortal Country was once flourishing!"
Yang Yan's current Holy Dynasty was still far from reaching the level of the Daqin Immortal Country.
"It will eventually reach this level!" Just as Yang Yan was about to leave, his eyes caught sight of some writing within the clouds.
"Ancient Tomb Immortal Palace..."
Mausoleum?
*"Could it be that the real place where Emperor Shi is buried is in this Immortal Palace?"* Yang Yan speculated.
*If that were true, then the place of this Immortal Palace...*
"Is it within the Heavenly List?"
Thinking of this, Yang Yan was astonished.
The Human List, Earthly List, and Heavenly List.
Cultivators entering them had realm limitations, so how did the people of Daqin Immortal Country enter?
How did they construct these statues and mausoleum?
*"Did they also conceal it from heaven and earth? But once inside, there's nowhere to hide..."*
Yang Yan was puzzled, contemplating as he made his way out.
