Sabi had to admit that Afilada was getting better. When she had first been aggressively recruited to join the cat woman's party, Sabi had noticed how violent and bloodthirsty she was. She had also been incredibly ambitious, as well as talented enough to realize her dreams, but Sabi had been wary.
She had seen a shift away from the brain-eating murder maniac throughout their time in tier two. After Ayuna died, though, she had worried that their leader would backslide. There had been some needless cruelty creeping back in, but over time that stopped. She still picked on Gaso, their replacement scout, whenever she could, but had recently been acting more socially normal.
After their latest fight, Sabi had even seen Afilada give Gaso a compliment. He had been assigned to retrieve the members of their force who had been released from stasis after gaining control of the village. When he had returned a day later empty handed, Afilada had been furious. After Pierto calmed her down, their scout had explained his failure.
There was something called an owlbear guarding the pass between their zones. He had scoped it out, but then made a decision that it wasn't something he could handle himself. That had turned out to be a good decision on his part. Even with the full party it had been quite the challenge.

Forto had it the worst, as the tank he was the one who ended up getting tossed around. The feathered beast had been filled with rage, and after ripping its way past Forto's shield it had grabbed him by the leg and tossed him away. Sabi had been able to shield him so little was damaged other than his pride, but with him out of the way it had left her and Gaso exposed.
Afilada and Pierto were a well oiled-team, however, and they moved in together to halt its charge. This gave their rhino man tank an opportunity to get back into position. Twice more he got thrown by the overgrown bird, but each time the beast took significant wounds. Gaso was the one to finally end it with a well placed shot to its throat. A similar blow at the start of the fight wouldn't have been so decisive, but it had lost a lot of vitality throughout their long engagement.
Afterwards Afilada had congratulated him on the kill, and even admitted she had over reacted to his inability to take it out on his own. Sabi was in good spirits as they moved back into tier two to find their reinforcements. It had seemed like Afilada was back to being the charismatic General, and maybe this time without so much drama. Then they had discovered that the owlbear had found some of their fellow Corellians who had been unfrozen.
Two of them had been killed outright, and a few of the others had been wounded during their retreat. Fortunately some of the recruits were healers, so by now they were fine, but there was a look in Afilada's eyes that Sabi had hoped was gone for good. That cat woman kept vacillating between a blood thirsty monster and a sane person. It seemed like this latest setback had pushed her into the darkness again.
