Sorry, I should have mentioned this in the last announcement. I left it as an exclusive announcement in my patreon, but I'm realizing I won't get enough through that avenue.

Anyway: I'm looking for beta readers to help with my editing process for this Wander West, in Shadow book (and possibly further books in the series, if you're interested). It would involve the following:

1. I would want to hear thoughts and critiques about parts of the original, potentially adding them as comments in a google doc

2. I would want people interested in reading over an edited version and giving feedback on the edits, commenting in a google doc

3. I would occasionally bounce ideas for larger structural edits off of you to see what you thought about them

This would go beyond mere grammar and spelling corrections. Overall impressions are good: Commenting on larger structural issues like weak narrative beats or plot elements on a chapter by chapter basis, for example. But I also don't mind if you want to make more minute comments: This would involve things like comments on prose clarity, lines that stick out as awkward to you, etc. Obviously, I don't plan on writing this by committee; I might disagree with you on some things, so not everything you point out would be acted on. But overall I'm looking for a sort of more fine-grained feedback.

If things go well and you were willing, I might also ask if you'd like to look at what I have written for future books, as well. Obviously, this would all be voluntary, and I don't know how many people I'd get to respond to this. I can't promise any rewards to everyone (what if a thousand people jump in to do beta reading)? However, there would probably be some sort of informal winnowing process; if you end up really having a lot of time to dedicate and make lots of feedback, I'd look for some way to reward you. Maybe with a free copy of the book? But again, I don't want to make any solid promises to you right now, this very much depends on how things go.
