Seven Beautiful Goddesses Want Me, But I Just Want My Revenge

Chapter 61: LET THE WORLD BURN...

Adrian's hands clenched into fists, his knuckles turning white as he fought to keep his emotions in check. But it was no use. The anger, the guilt, the grief — all of it surged within him like a tidal wave, threatening to drown him.

"Stop it!" Adrian bellowed, his voice hoarse with desperation. "Stop it!"

But the taunting continued. The voice was relentless. "You're nothing, Adrian. Just a broken man clinging to his rage." The voice scoffed coldly. "You couldn't save them, and now you seek revenge to fill the void. But it will never be enough.

You will never be enough."

The rage that had been simmering within Adrian finally erupted.

With a furious cry, he summoned his chains, all eight of them their fiery glow casting a red light across the chamber. He lashed out at the mirrors, the chains flying in all directions, smashing them one by one and sending shards of glass flying in all directions.

He didn't care about the cuts that began to cover his arms and face as the shard grazed his skin, didn't care about the blood that stained his skin. Some even dug deep into him, but Adrian didn't care, didn't bother.

All that mattered was silencing those voices, those damned voices that wouldn't stop reminding him of his failures.

"Enough!" Adrian roared, his voice echoing through the chamber as he continued to smash the mirrors. "Enough!"

But even as the mirrors shattered, the taunts continued, the voices whispering from the shards on the ground. "You did nothing to save them," they hissed. "You failed."

Adrian fell to his knees, his body trembling with the force of his emotions. The voices grew louder, more insistent, drowning out all rational thought.

He covered his ears, trying to block out the noise, but it was inside him now, gnawing at his soul.

The final mirror before him remained intact, the reflection within now showing the faceless figure fully. The figure stepped out of the mirror, towering over Adrian, its presence overwhelming.

It was a shadow, a manifestation of all his fears and doubts, and it leaned down to whisper in his ear. "You failed them," the figure whispered in a softer yet cutting tone. "You let your wife and child die. Your kingdom is in ruins, your friends are dead. And all because of you."

"Shut up!" Adrian screamed, his voice cracking. "You don't know anything!"

The figure only laughed, a cold, heartless sound that echoed through the room. "Don't I? I am you, Adrian. I am your anger, your guilt, your regret. You can't escape me. You can't escape yourself."

Adrian buried his face in his hands. The figure's words sliced through him like a blade, each one cutting deeper than the last. He couldn't fight it, couldn't fight himself.

The guilt, the anger, the overwhelming sense of failure—it was all too much.

"You're weak, Adrian. And in the end, your vengeance will consume you."

And then, something inside him snapped. A resolve, cold and unyielding, hardened in his chest.

Adrian's hands fell from his ears, his body going still. The words pierced through him like a blade, sinking deep into his heart. He raised his head, his eyes blazing with a fury that consumed all reason.

"Yes," Adrian said, his voice low and filled with dark resolve. "If I couldn't save them, then the least I can do is avenge them. I will make sure the world pays. I will burn everything to the ground if I have to. I will make them all suffer as I have suffered. I will let everything else fall apart if it means I get my revenge.

Nothing else matters. Nothing."

The figure in the mirror smiled, a twisted, cruel smile that sent a chill down Adrian's spine. The smile grew wider until it became a wicked laughter, echoing in the chamber once more, but it was different this time—almost approving. "Yes," it whispered, its voice dripping with satisfaction. "LET THE WORLD BURN. Let them all burn."

Adrian's eyes blazed with a fury that matched the flames of his chains. He stood slowly, his body trembling. "I don't care what happens anymore," he declared in a steady voice, filled with cold determination. "All that matters is my revenge."

Adrian's chains lashed out once more, shattering the final mirror into a thousand pieces.

The chamber grew silent, the taunts finally silenced as the last of the mirrors lay in ruins around him. Adrian went back on his knees, breathing heavily, his heart pounding in his chest.

His declaration echoed in the silence, like a dark vow, one he knew he could never take back.

He would let the world burn to the ground if it meant he could have his revenge. It was the only thing that mattered now.

Slowly, Adrian rose to his feet, taking in the space around him. The room of mirrors was now a graveyard of shattered glass, each shard reflecting the man he had become—a man driven by a singular purpose, a man willing to sacrifice everything for vengeance.

Adrian turned away from the ruins of the mirrors and walked toward the next passage. The darkness of the labyrinth no longer held any fear for him. He welcomed it.

The rage within him burnt brighter than ever as he spoke to himself. I will find all the other goddesses. I will claim the powers they have to offer. No matter the cost, no matter the sacrifice, I will face whatever it is that comes my way, even if it means burning the world to ashes.

With his final step, the shattered glass behind him began to shimmer, the pieces slowly rising from the ground.

As they floated in the air, they reformed into new mirrors, but instead of reflecting Adrian, they now showed a burning world—a vision of the future that Adrian had vowed to bring to life.

The faceless figure in the shattered mirror whispered once more, its voice carried on the wind, "Let the world burn."
