The celestial bodies cast their glow on all beneath.

The night was eerily quiet, as if a storm was brewing, and calamity loomed.

In a villa in the Harkers clan,

Francisca's back reclined against the wall, bearing the weight of unimaginable fear, regret and depression.

Chugging down a bottle of alcohol, she stared blankly at the pictures displayed across the holographic screen before her.

Her husband…

Her son..

Her daughter…

Her sister…

And now, death definitely loomed above the clan.

This was all because of one person, Kailen Darkhaven..

"Enough pride. I have to escape. Let the clan perish. Kailen Darkhaven. I will return for revenge one day."

Francisca was about to slip through a teleportation gate, a personal one constructed right outside her manor, when she heard sounds of battles occurring in the clan.

When she walked out, what she saw was completely confusing and puzzling.

The clan members were fighting one another, engaged in battles of different magnitudes.

Their eyes were completely bloodshot, as if they were in some deranged state.

What was worse was that the moment they turned on one another, several death mechanisms were triggered because of the rune oaths of the clan they had signed that indicated that the moment they killed a fellow clan member without any justifiable reason, they'd die through different means.

Francisca flew above the clan, and what she realised was that this was happening everywhere in the clan.

Clan members, from elders to the lowest, from clan powerhouses to the weakest, had turned on one another, some killed others, and triggered death mechanisms of clan rune oaths that further killed them in the end.

The most terrifying aspect was that she could not figure out the cause of this.

Kailen watched everything calmly from his bedroom from the eyes of hound 3, the one who had been used to execute this plan, with a relaxed expression and an amused smile on his face.

The plan had been really simple.

The alchemical product he had utilized was called an alchemical product called Berserker's Breath.

Inhaling it would make one go crazy, destroy one's murderous inhibitions and make you turn on anyone close to you. The only thing you'd be able to think of was to murder the person.

Since Kailen was a rank alchemist / rank 1 BlackFlask, this worked effectively against the members of the Harkers' clan.

Of course, there were a few old monsters in seclusion, in the intermediate stage galactic level that this whole thing could not work against, but there was nothing they could do even if they wanted to interfere because the cause of the fiasco could not even be identified.

And even if they were to identify the person, Kailen's backing would have been enough to make them steer clear of him.

He just wanted to avoid the crown prince focusing his attention on him till he was ready to deal with the crown prince, that is why he was resorting to methods completely different from how he killed Enna Harker and the society presidents.

Honestly Kailen had come to enjoy experimenting with different killing methods on his enemies. The thrill and excitement of trying new killing methods on his enemies was something extremely unimaginable.

Francisca Harker suddenly inhaled this gas, which caused her to assume the same disposition as the clan members.

She attacked anything she came across.

Contrary to others, everything she attacked had the face of Kailen Darkhaven, bearing a sadistic smirk on his fucking face!

"I will kill you! I will kill you! You took everything from me!"

No, Kailen had not added a hallucinogen to the Berserker's Breath.

It was Francisca's extreme hatred and fear of Kailen Darkhaven that had induced the hallucinations of Kailen Darkhaven in her deranged, uninhibited murderous state.

"Is she actually having hallucinations of me because of her extreme fear and hatred for me? That's new."

Kailen took a sip of his coffee. Kailen could use emotional resonance to read her emotional state.

Francisca kept killing, and killing and killing and killing, but more Kailen's would appear.

"Why can't you just die! Why can't you just fucking die!"

She kept screaming and screaming and screaming!

Francisca felt like she was killing Kailen Darkhaven, but the fucker would appear the next moment she killed him.

This was driving her crazy.

The only thing they could do about this mayhem was to bring a quick end to it by killing the members of the clan to give them quick deaths.

That would not change the outcome of events.

So they steered clear of the matter.

As for revenge, they were not stupid enough to think of it.

They knew that whoever had orchestrated this, was an extremely terrifying person that could not be messed with.

Quickly, they left the clan residence and boarded different space ships, each headed towards various empires to continue their cultivation.

To them, cliche stuff such as senselessly seeking unnecessary revenge on terrifying opponents was stupidity. They didn't want to anger whatever powerhouse Francisca had offended.

As for Francisca Harker, she deserved her death.

They had been very displeased with her since she took over the clan. Her methods of handling clan affairs and her personal life had been very bad. But it was not their place to question the leadership of the clan leaders, even if they were powerful.

They had retired from clan affairs to focus on their cultivation in the first place, so they honestly prioritized t their cultivation over clan matters at this point.

"A fitting end for a bad leader. The natural order of the universe is for some to fall and some to rise." One middle aged man, an old monster of the clan, with eyes that spoke of deep wisdom, sighed, as he observed the chaos beneath him from his spaceship.

At the moment, the clan was full of dead bodies, spilled innards and blood flowing ceaselessly.

The scent of blood, so thick, lingered in their air.

The only person still moving about, was Francisca, launching attacks towards the void endlessly.

She started weeping, after realizing Kailen Darkhaven was no more.

"I killed him, I finally killed him! He's dead! He's fucking dead!"

The powerhouse sighed. "Whatever haunts her, has certainly wrecked her."

As for Francisca, another image of Kailen Darkhaven appeared before her.

"No.. no.. no.." She clutched her head in a very confused and despairing manner.

"How are you still alive, just die."

"You and I are gonna fucking die together."

After that, she self detonated herself, the explosion rippling outwards and engulfing the whole clan.

Francisca Harker, was dead.

She had died in the same manner her daughter had died.

Another old monster sighed. "A pity. But whoever did this, is not someone we can mess with. The universe is vast and full of endless opportunities. We can't throw our life away because of lack of common sense."

The other old monsters agreed, after which their spaceships turned into streaks of light, and they disappeared.

Kailen revealed an expression of genuine suprise, right leg crossed elegantly over the left.

"Oh, self detonation. The mother follows in the daughter's footsteps." He chuckled in amusement.

"Was about to use a different poison to kill her but that works, you can return hound 3. Now, on to the next one."
