Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons

Chapter 388 Sky Island

The scorching sun in the sky above the dungeon radiated more heat than ever before.

It seemed as if the area where the City of Gastronomy was located had entered a hot season, and the temperature felt like it was rising every day.

Previously, when Kane and the others were at Furnace Castle, it felt like they had just stepped out of winter, but over here, it was almost summer.

Couldn't understand the weather situation in this world.

At this moment, on the plains below.

Kane looked at the approaching antelope in the distance. Yes, it was the Bread Antelope they had previously eaten and praised endlessly.

Since their route to the Sky Island passed through the plains they had visited before, they encountered another antelope as soon as they arrived.

Without hesitation, a strand of white Spider Silk shot over, wrapping the antelope tightly and dragging it back.

Watching the struggling antelope in front of him, Kane squatted down and then punched the antelope on the head.

The antelope immediately fell into a deep sleep from Kane's punch.

Kreya and the others were a bit puzzled by Kane's actions.

"What are you planning to do?" Longbei asked, a bit confused.

Kane didn't answer but instead concentrated a bubble in his hand and pressed it against the unconscious antelope. The Spider Silk wrapped around the antelope also dissipated.

In an instant, the antelope was sealed into the bubble.

Kane felt the Magic Power within him. Indeed, this antelope was much more powerful than the previous squirrel, but the Magic Power consumed was just half that of the squirrel.

This was just after Kane knocked it out with a punch, losing resistance and consciousness. If it were beaten to half-dead, the Magic Power consumed would be even less.

Looking at the bubble in front of him, Kane said, "What do you think if we capture those tasty animals, knock them out, seal them up, and throw them into that Golden Space Equipment we had before?"

"Once we have our own dungeon, we can raise these animals in there, right?"

"Yeah, then we could always have them to eat," Longbei immediately chimed in.

Kreya was even more tempted, as she had the greatest demand for various Magic Ingredients, allowing her to maximize her Culinary Skill.

Outside, wanting to have abundant Magic Ingredients like in this dungeon was impossible.

Even though the City of Gastronomy often sold Magic Ingredients outside through the Food Association, the quantity was just a drop in the ocean on the world scale.

In the World Table dungeon, there were even a number of Silver Explorers dedicated to capturing and hunting dungeon creatures.

These Silver Explorers knew they had no hope of Promotion, and the City of Gastronomy would purchase at market prices.

But facing the world's demand, it was still a drop in the ocean.

However, if they could farm them themselves, it would save a lot of hassle.

As for whether they could successfully farm them, that was a consideration for later; there were always more ways than challenges.

Although it wasn't easy to farm outside, if Kane and the others raised them inside the dungeon, it might be possible.

Not everyone could have a dungeon like Kane and the others, even though they didn't own it yet.

But they already had all the necessary pre-requisite items, just waiting to find a suitable dungeon.

"But there's no rush now, just a trial to see if it works. Once we've completed the sixth phase of the task, we can slowly collect our favorite Ingredients and meats."

Upon hearing Kane's words, everyone nodded, realizing there was no need to rush.

After speaking, Kane took out various kinds of catalogs from his Space Equipment and distributed them to everyone: "But for now, you can take a good look at these."

So they continued onwards, passing time by perusing the catalogs.

If they encountered good animals and plants along the way, they would knock them to half-dead and seal them up.

For instance, they followed the tracks of the Bread Antelope and found its dwelling, observing a few lambs, sealing them up, and placing them into the Space Equipment.

These young Bread Antelopes were known to fight each other, so Kane essentially saved them.

They spent a lot of time stopping and starting as they moved along.

...

By the next day, they finally arrived below the Sky Island.

Kane shielded his eyes from the sun, looking up to see the evident shadow of the Sky Island in the sky, although it was somewhat blurry.

"From the look of it, it's above a thousand meters and below two thousand meters. Cotton Candy can definitely reach that height."

Kane estimated and said.

Then Kane beckoned to the sky, and Cotton Candy floated down, expanding to its largest size.

After everyone boarded, Kane patted it.

"Do you see that small island in the sky? Cotton Candy, take us up there."

With that, Cotton Candy ascended upwards.

It wasn't long before Kane and the others saw the full view of the Sky Island; however, they only saw its foundation, a conical form of sand and soil, with no clue as to how it was floating.

"Wait a moment, Kane, look over there." Kreya seemed to have discovered something and patted Kane beside her.

Kane, with his Eagle Eye, looked closely and saw a corner of the sand revealing an inner part. It was a piece of obviously man-made stone, with a smooth square surface and intricate patterns.

"Interesting, let's carefully check later from the island to see if there are similar relics."

As Cotton Candy ascended higher and higher, Kane and the others finally came level with the small island.

At this point, they could finally see the condition of the island's surface.

The area of this Sky Island was not very large. As Kane and the others observed, there was no situation where it extended beyond sight. From afar, except for the back of the island, the boundaries on both sides were visible.

The terrain of the small island showed quite a few trees in the woodland, but it wasn't very dense; most were some low plants.

There were countless birds circling in the sky.

Just as Kane and the others were still observing, the flock of birds rushed straight towards them.

This group of birds was the size of adults, covered in black feathers, moving extremely fast, like arrows shooting toward them, with beaks very sharp, gleaming coldly.

Seeing this situation, there was no need for words, everyone directly pulled out their weapons to prepare for battle.

Two Rotating Cannons appeared directly beside Kane, and as they rotated, a dense array of cannon fire blasted out.

Four Knights appeared beside Kreya as well, armed with Throwing Spears, vigorously shooting at the incoming birds.

A few stars trailing rainbow tracks followed suit.

Under the attacks of the three, the feathers of the birds exploded, scattering in all directions, plummeting to the ground, heads down.

The number of the bird flock wasn't large, and they were all shot down before they flew in front of Kane and the others.

A piece of Spider Silk shot out, entangling a giant bird falling down, dragging it over.

"I know this bird," Longbei said joyfully, looking at the full appearance of the giant bird.

These past two days, whenever they had time, they checked all kinds of illustrations, choosing the species they liked, preparing for the trafficking plan.

This led to their continuous increase in knowledge about various creatures.

Looking at the expressions Kane and the others threw his way, Longbei scratched his head, embarrassed and said.

"But I forgot what this bird's name is."

Seeing the speechless expressions from Kane and the others, Longbei quickly amended.

"But I know why they attacked us. This bird seems to be a guardian bird of the Sky Island. Anyone attempting to enter the Sky Island from an external place would be attacked by them; they are very aggressive, and it seems to have a three-star capture difficulty."

Explaining but saying nothing, what we care about is whether it's tasty or not.

"Anyway, let's land first," Kane said and patted the Cotton Candy beneath him.

Cotton Candy floated directly toward the Sky Island and then stopped.

Kane and the others jumped down from Cotton Candy, standing on the ground of the Sky Island.

Longbei even stomped on the ground forcefully: "No different from the ground below."

Kane looked around and said: "The area of this island isn't very large, let's stroll around first. If we really can't find the target, we'll use the Compass."

According to the information on the Flying Wing Hunter, this creature moves quickly and is very good at hiding its presence, and there aren't many of them.

So Kane and the others might not find this creature.

But there's no need to rush, the focus is on exploring the environment here, to see if there are any delicious or interesting creatures or plants; that's the important part.

The commission's target is just a target; the gains during the process are what's important.

Just as Kane finished speaking, they heard Lilulu's loud shout.

"Look quickly, look over there, there are flying eggs." Lilulu exclaimed with delight, pointing to a small forest not far ahead and shouting to Kane and the others.

Following the direction Lilulu pointed, Kane and the others looked over.

They saw in a small forest about 200 meters away that there were two white eggs, each with a pair of small wings, leisurely flying into the forest.

The eggs had no patterns or features, just an oval shape.

Longbei's curiosity was also piqued, quickly saying: "Quick, quick, quick, let's also go and see what those things are."

At once, a few of them ran toward the small forest, fearing they might lose track of the two eggs.

The two eggs seemed to sense Kane and the others approaching, and were struggling to stretch their wings, trying to fly into the sky.

As Kane arrived, two Spider Silks shot out from beside him, directly wrapping the two eggs trying to escape into the sky, dragging them down.

The Master Weaver skill has been the one Kane used the most in this Dungeon; indeed, it greatly helps in capturing creatures alive.

Kane looked at the eggs wrapped in Spider Silk, shook off the silk, and then held the eggs in his hands.

Whether touching or looking, there wasn't the slightest crack, indeed like ordinary eggs, but those small wings flapping hard were still telling Kane these weren't ordinary eggs.

Kreya and the others also gathered around, and Kane handed the other egg to them.

This creature turned out to be the most illogical one they had seen so far.
