"If the information we were given is correct, they should be passing through here in about a few more minutes," I remarked, leaning back in my pilot's seat on board the Verlandi.

Amber's face was on the screen diagonally above me which showed her grinning at me, "Ahahaha! It feels like forever since I last took part in something like this! Would be funny if there's people there who still remember me from the last civil war!"

I nodded at the screen next to hers, "Renata, is everything ready?"

My eldritch maid gave me a curt nod, "Yes, Daddy! Interdiction pulse is ready to activate! Any nearby ship's Travel Drives will be disabled! The moment they're in range!"

"Good, all weapons primed! Remember, we need the supply ship intact! Lea?"

Lea nodded on her screen, "EMP missiles are loaded, Mistress. But as I warned, it will most likely require a few hits to completely disable it."

I grinned, "Don't worry. Amber and I will give you the opening you need to get those shots in. Ries?"

My Maochatte gave me a thumbs up on her screen, "All cameras up and running Boss! Don't worry!"

"Captain, we've got targets flying in," Mara cut in.

I nodded, "Alright, as soon as they're in range, let it loose, Renata!"

"Yes Daddy!! Firing off in three… Two… One!!"

A pulse blasted out from the Iridescence, shutting down all Travel Drives within the area.

Looking at my map, at least two dozen red dots appeared on my map which was mostly a mix of A Class and B Class ships.

The one in the centre of the formation was a C Class Freighter which I'm pretty sure was our target.

"Weapons free!! Go, go, go!!" I ordered, pushing the throttle on my ship to the max.

I felt myself being pushed back in my seat as my ship accelerated towards the convoy that had just dropped out of Travel speed a short distance away.

Thanks to Renata's perfect timing on her interdiction pulse, we were directly below the convoy so we should be taking them completely by surprise.

Amber's ship accelerated past me and I watched as she flew through the space between two of the fighters.

A split second later, both of those ships exploded and were wrapped in balls of fire before any of them could even react.

Alright, can't let her do all the work here~

I lined up crosshairs on my targeting console and pulled the trigger, prompting my railgun to fire off a shot that ripped through the underside of that ship, splitting it into two.

Several autocannon rounds flew past my ship and ripped through several of the fighters, courtesy of Lea.

The survivors immediately scattered as they tried to engage us to protect the freighter.

I turned my ship to get behind one of the fighters, its pilot visibly panicking as the ship jerked around trying to shake me off its tail before I unleashed a hail of energy rounds that shredded through its shields.

It tried to bank away from me but a quick burst from one of my ballistic cannons shredded the entire ship into pieces, turning it into scrap as it floated away.

A warning alarm sounded from my console indicating I was being targeted and I quickly pushed the ship's controls to initiate a roll.

Lasers blasted through the space I had been just a moment ago, barely missing my ship.

The railgun mounted on top of my ship then swivelled around, firing at my attacker to shred through their ship like it was made of paper.

More of them tried to converge on me, firing more lasers in my direction as I spun my ship away from them.

Checking my map, it seems like three ships had chosen to pursue me while the two were hot on Amber's tail. The rest seemed content to hover around the freighter for now as backup.

"You need some backup?" I asked casually, not at all worried about the three fighters behind me.

Amber let out a laugh, "Ahahaha! I can handle this, Tera! Do you need help on your side?"

I didn't answer her and merely pushed the throttle of my ship backwards while pushing the flightstick to the side, forcing the back thrusters to engage and slow my ship down while the side thrusters spun my ship around.

I was now staring straight at my pursuers whom I had set up to be at the perfect distance to engage with my ballistic cannons.

They tried to bank away to escape but they were just a second too late.

I pulled the trigger and the kinetic rounds from my ballistic cannons shredded through all three ships with impunity, blowing two of them up while the third spiralled away with its cockpit riddled with holes.

I turned my gaze in the direction of Amber's ship, just in time to see her do a corkscrew to avoid several lasers shot at her before she spun around to engage her ship's afterburners.

In an instant, her ship had flown past her pursuers and both of them blew up simultaneously, leaving Amber completely unharmed.

"Nice flying there, Tera~" Amber complimented with a cheeky grin.

I grinned back, "You too. Now hurry up and finish up the rest before the interdiction pulse wears off so Lea can hit that freighter with her EMP missiles."

The rest of the escort ships turned to us, clearly realising that they needed to take us seriously.

Amber boosted towards them, not even concerned that she was outnumbered.

I flew behind her, taking aim at the flight of ships with my photon laser.

"Lea?" I called out.

"Launching missiles, Mistress."

Alright~ Once these ships go down, that would give the missiles a clear shot to the freighter.

While Amber and the escort ships tried to get close to each other to get within firing range of each other, I fired my photon laser and railgun, beaming two ships within the formation.

Yeah, that's right, I outrange all of you~

Several of them panicked and broke formation in a vain attempt to try and escape my firing range but Amber immediately targeted them and engaged her afterburners once again.

I watched as her ship spun through the darkness of space to blast three ships into bits before they could even complete their turn.

The other ships tried to cut her off but I was already taking aim at them, firing another two shots that blew two more fighters out into space.

The EMP missiles flew past my ship and I accelerated to match their pace, escorting them as the fighters finally realised our plan and tried to intercept the missiles.

I tried to shoot them down but they were prepared for me this time and rolled away to dodge my shots.

Unfortunately for them, they had been so focused on me that they forgot there was a Gold Demon that was currently flying amongst them.

Amber came swooping down and her ballistic cannons flashed before all of them were shredded apart by the kinetic shrapnels from her ship's guns.

The last few fighters tried to return back to the freighter for cover but with their backs shown to me, it wasn't exactly that hard for me to shoot them down from where I was.

As the last of the fighters spiraled away with flames bursting out from its cockpit, I banked off from the missile as it neared the freighter.

"Clear target area!" I warned, though a little pointless since Amber was already far from the impact zone.

I watched as the freighter attempted a turn to try and avoid the missiles but it was simply too slow to avoid it and the EMP missiles struck the ship on its broadside.

Its shields flared up before it shattered, unable to even protect the ship from a single EMP blast before the next few missiles exploded against the ship itself.

Electrical sparks exploded along the surface of the freighter and the lights that had been on the ship started winking out before its engines sputtered and died, leaving it completely vulnerable while floating in place.

Amber and I did a final sweep around them to make sure there were no other escorts and those that we shot down were definitely disabled and weren't just laying in wait to catch us off guard.

"Renata, bring the ship in! We're boarding them!" I ordered.

"Already en route, Daddy!!"

"Alright, let's get back and suit up, Amber! We're taking everything on that ship!"

"Right behind you, Tera!"

Alright, phase one is a complete success.

Now we'll go back to the Iridescence to store our ships before we arm up and have Renata dock our ship on theirs before we board them.

It's going to be close quarters combat from here on~

We did not need to give any mercy to these guys since they were on the side of the civil war that wants to get rid of humans anyway~
