I was ready to tell her yes until she revealed she was not done talking yet.

"I know some people that can grant you a pass to enter the Inner Colonies. All you have to do is hand over that cousin of mine to us. That should be a good deal, right?"

I didn't even need time to consider, "Not happening."

It seems like my answer was unexpected as she looked taken aback.

"You… Are rejecting my offer?"

"What does it sound like? Of course I'm rejecting your offer. I'm not handing her over for any reason at all."

"Why? What value does she even give you?"

"Aside from the fact that she's a very capable doctor? I think that's already a really big value that she has as a crew member, don't you think?"

She scoffed, "Who cares about that? You can just get another doctor with the same skills. It's not like she's the best doctor you can ever get."

"Well, she's my lover too."

She hummed before floating away from me to turn towards Mara, "Is this what you've been reduced to? You didn't want to bear any children so you became a lesbian?"

Mara smirked, "She's a futa."

The woman hummed again and turned back to me to look me up and down once more before her gaze settled on my crotch.

I turned away to hide my crotch away from her but that seemed to piss her off as her brows furrowed and she reached out her hand to spin it in a half circle.

I found myself being lifted up telekinetically to start turning towards her.

It felt really uncomfortable and I thought about stopping that from happening.

It was only a thought and I didn't even intend to act on it but the hold on me suddenly broke and I fell back to the ground on my feet.

The auburn haired noble immediately furrowed her brows even deeper and turned to look at Mara once again.

"You… You have been hiding your power all this time?"

Mara seemed like she wanted to say something but the woman raised up her hand and the only sound she could let out was a gasp while her hand grasped at her neck.

The sight of Mara being in danger made me react immediately and I reached out my will towards her, imagining her to not be choked.

That seemed to work as Mara immediately dropped back down and I guess Eleanor finally realised that it wasn't Mara that was blocking her but me instead.

Both Desmond and her widened their eyes as they stared at me, clearly not expecting to find another Psionic here.

"You… Which Family are you from?!" Elearnor roared, turning her hand towards me again.

I felt an invisible force wrap around my throat but I immediately protected myself by imagining a force field around me.

The pressure disappeared and Eleanor was pushed back away from me.

Desmond then acted right then, his hand reaching out to me and an invisible force slammed against me, causing the plates and utensils to flip up into the air as well.

Since I still had my barrier up, whatever he did barely did anything to me and all I felt was akin to a breeze of air blowing past me.

Eleanor then rose up into the air, her hand raising up before slamming down like she was trying to crush me.

Sure enough, something pressed down on top of me and the floor groaned from the weight of holding both me and whatever force was pushing me down.

I found the idea of breaking the floor to be something to be avoided at all cost so I pushed back against the force, rising up above the ground to remove the weight on the ground.

Eleanor's face turned from one of determination to one of disbelief as she watched me rise up to the same height as her.

I then reached out and grabbed her throat, squeezing it with my hand and causing her to let out a gasp of pain.

"Stop," I told her, my eyes staring into hers.

Surprisingly, she obeyed and her hand lowered to her sides.

I floated back down to the ground and Desmond was surprisingly subdued, the guy not even trying to do anything anymore and just trying his best to melt into the background.

I shoved the woman back and tried to think of how to handle this.

No big deal… I just revealed to them that I was a Psionic… What's the worst that could happen?

Mara then spoke up, "Captain is not part of any Noble Families. She's a newly awakened, natural Psionic."

Both her cousin and brother swivelled around to look at her with an even more surprised expression than before.

"Seriously?" Her cousin gasped.

Mara nodded, "She's basically a first generation Psionic for her."

All of them then looked at me again and… Honestly… I have no idea how I should react.

Like seriously… What does any of that mean? Like I thought the worst thing for them to know was that I was a Psionic but apparently being 'newly awakened' and a 'natural' Psionic seemed to also be a pretty big deal?

Eleanor then straightened herself before walking up to me.

I still had the barrier up so she stopped just as she came into contact with it, being unable to get close any further.

She didn't protest and chose to speak from that distance instead.

"I… Apologise for the late introduction… I am Eleanor of the Keydew Noble Family… Could I know your name? Your real name?"

Eh? Wait… She knew that I gave her a fake name? How?!

I glanced at Mara and she nodded slowly.

I guess it's fine to tell her my real one then?

"Tera," I told her simply. "What are you going to do now?"

"Are you… Taken?"

"What the fuck does that even mean?"

Eleanor turned back to Mara, "She doesn't know?"

"Didn't she already tell you? She's from the Outer Colonies," Mara scoffed before nodding at me. "You are basically the only naturally awakened Psionic in probably, at the very least, a century or so. Right now, every single Psionic is bred within the Noble Families and to them, you are prime genetic material."

Ok… Yeah… That single sentence basically told me all I needed to know.

The nobles will want me to have babies with their family members to create more powerful Psionics since they have basically gone through several generations of inbreeding within their own family.

They want an outsider's genes to create a new 'breed' and since kidnapping another noble family's people to do that was difficult and might not even get the best results, people like myself are prime real estate.

I can already guess Eleanor's next words before she even said it when she turned back to me.

"Tera, marry me! I will make sure you have the best life you can have!"

I raised my hand, "No thanks. I already told you I'm not interested in settling down."

She took a step back, "Are we… The only Nobles you have encountered so far?"

"Yes."

"Does no one else know that you are a Psionic?"

"No. And I would prefer it if it stays that way. Unless you're going to talk to the others that came with you?"

Eleanor frowned, "How did you… You're staying in the same hotel I take it?"

I didn't say anything and simply took out my halberd and transformed it into its polearm to hold it behind me, "Is that going to be a problem?"

"No… I understand. You are here for the Exo-Knight Exhibition then?"

I figured that there's no reason to hide it since it was pretty obvious anyway so I nodded.

She seemed to think about something for a while before turning away, "In that case… I shall see you again… Tera. I will keep your secret safe. But know that my offer will always remain open to you."

She then took another step before floating towards the lift, prompting Desmond to fly after her as well.

All of us watched them leave and only after the lift doors closed did I relax.

Merina, who had been trying her best to act like she was part of the furniture, finally stepped forward.

"Umm… Teacher? Are you going to… Kill all of us?"

I frowned, "What? No? What the fuck? Why would I do that?"

"To… Silence us?"

"As long as you don't tell anyone about this… Then it's fine."

Lea fiddled with her sniper rifle, "No one will believe them even if they said anything anyway."

I guess that's true… What are they going to say? Two nobles came to their restaurant and then had a fight with another Psionic who was revealed to be a newly awakened one with no ties to the other noble families?

Yeah… People are going to think they are just looking for attention.

Merina seemed to be emboldened by that and she quickly got down on her knees, "Tea… Teacher!! Could… Could I ask for you to be the new owner of this place?!"

I just want to say… I only wanted to come out here to have dinner so what the heck happened?
