So on the battlefield, there was the side of the first angel, the side of Legion, and the remaining 2 from the 9 waiting demigods. These 2 are the ones that the first angel hadn't been able to track down in the real world and convert yet.
These 2 are actually one demigod telepath and one brainwashed demigod telepath that is serving the other demigod telepath. Both servant and master were shocked by the turn of events.
The master said, "There is another angel? And everyone else has been enslaved?"
It came to her as a shock that everyone but her was either an angel capable of enslaving her or a demigod telepath that had been enslaved.
This made her realize that there was only three true fighters on the battlefield including herself. She also realized that she was in grave danger.
Just like Legion had said, these two are inconsequential to the outcome of the battle. The master of this pair didn't try to deny it at all. She chose to run away immediately.
She didn't want to have any part of this battle at all. All she wanted to do was to maintain her independence. She prioritized her independence and freedom above who would gain control of the Mind Palace, so she escaped.
Legion had wanted to convert them, but they decided to give up on them for now because they didn't have the spiritual energy to spare.
In the past, only they needed to be hidden by their Invisibility Shield divine ability. But now that 12 other demigods have become part of Legion, if the Invisibility Shield is to hide the concept of Legion from the cognition of others, these 12 demigods must also be hidden and their actions kept a secret from others.
This gave them a terrifying advantage on the battlefield. But it also increased the consumption of spiritual energy by 12 times.
It is clear that they wouldn't be able to maintain their hidden state for much longer. So instead of wasting time on pursuing these two irrelevant demigods, they chose to expend their energy on the angel of slavery and his helpers.
While they were doing this, the other two clones in control of the pathway were imbibing and digesting energy water in order to assist Legion-10 with spiritual energy.
Legion-10 was also using the rank 3 Life Siphon divine ability of the pathway of slavery to siphon spiritual energy from their slaves in order to support the massive expenditure of spiritual energy.
To top things off, Legion-10 didn't try to defeat the mind of the first angel. His mind was very powerful and would take a lot of time and energy to subdue, so they picked the minds of his helpers to subdue it.
Their tactics, combined with the strong support of spiritual energy, helped Legion to quickly turn the tides of battle. They were able to quickly subdue and convert 10 out of the 13 helpers of the first angel. So their number of helpers increased from 12 to 22.
At this point, the first angel knew that he had lost. This was because Legion was now in control of 71% of the total force on the battlefield.
The total force on the battlefield was 10 for Legion, 12 for their helpers, 10 for the first angel, and 13 for the helpers of the first angel. This made a total of 45 units of manpower.
Legion was now in control of 10 units that represented themselves and 22 units that represented their helpers. This was a total of 32 out of 45 units.
So even though the first angel's mind was still intact, he knew that he couldn't stop Legion anymore. This was proven when Legion stopped attacking and stopped using the Invisibility Shield and focused only on eroding the Mind Palace with their 32 units of manpower.
The first angel said, "I've lost."
Legion-10 snickered and said, "Don't be so disappointed. After all, the best that you could have done was to prevent me from winning. You couldn't win yourself."
If the first angel was fighting a normal angel of telepathy, he would have been able to win with his initial forces because he had the advantage of numbers.
But Legion wasn't normal. Legion could hide his actions and secretly convert his helpers, while he couldn't do the same to Legion's helpers. So right from the start, the best that he could do was to prevent Legion from gaining enough manpower to control the Mind Palace.
And from the way things turned out, he couldn't manage to prevent Legion from beating him and gaining control of the Mind Palace. All of his resistance had only delayed Legion for a short time from gaining control of the Mind Palace.
Not only had he lost the battlefield, but he had also lost most of the hidden forces that he had been raising for so many years. This was a painful loss to him.
He wasn't willing to accept his loss, so he began to kill all the demigods that used to be in his control. He knew where they were, so he began hunting them and killing them.
This wasn't going to change anything, of course. Even if he managed to kill every helper and made it so that only he and Legion remained on the battlefield, Legion would still be able to defeat him.
But he couldn't even manage that. Many of the demigod telepaths ran away from him through the Mindscape so he couldn't kill them.
While he was busy wasting his time trying to kill his previous helpers so that Legion wouldn't be able to gain what he had worked hard for and should have been his, Legion was busy eroding the Mind Palace and gaining control of it.
When they were done eroding 51% of it, they finally gained control of the Mind Palace. They knew they had gained control of it because they could now sense its location and general condition.
