Again and again and again.
Noah took special care of Luelle with an eerie calm demeanor, his face bearing no indication of whether he was enjoying the process or not.
His wives watched him from behind, their eyes calm and unbothered, subtle smiles gracing their lips. All of them had already known about this side of Noah for quite some time.
They all knew that no matter how loving and caring Noah was toward them, he was pitiless when it came to those who had truly wronged his family.
Justicia knew it, for she remembered when he killed Elijah in front of her and enslaved her.
Christelle knew it, for she recalled the time she was used to break the mind of her own son. Weirdly, thinking about that event made her horny.
Lea knew it, for Noah had broken her in the most atrocious way possible, making her kill her own husband in front of him. Now look at her, sacrificing herself for that same man.
Her smile widened in eerie obsession.
Not only them, many of the other wives were well aware of this aspect of their husband.
Even Maryam felt nothing, for she had known and seen worse than this. Still, it was a strange feeling to see one's own son deliver such a public display of torture without so much as a twitch on his face.
But all of that were the cute thoughts of the wives. For the Origins and the Legacy Bearers watching, the Prince was worse than the devils dwelling in the deepest pits of Hell.
All of them, even Tiamat, inwardly praised themselves for never going against him.
While the ones who had already done so were now whimpering on the ground, lifeless, wishing for nothing but True Death.
Just like that, time passed, and soon Noah stopped.
Thud.
The body of Luelle slapped against the ground with a loud bang. Her face was a mess of tears and snot. Her eyes rolled back, leaving only a white canvas of pure agony.
Under her breath, she was mumbling constant pleas toward Noah, seeking forgiveness that would never grace her tortured soul.
"Are you done now?" Selene asked, striding toward Noah, her stunning crimson-gold hair lashing behind her like a cape. "How do you feel now?"
"I feel like I can do more," Noah said with an empty tone, "but I am not that cruel, right? I know when to stop."
Selene giggled and hugged him from behind, not minding the ground drenched in the piss of a Progenitor.
"I'm sure you stopped because you were getting bored."
Noah's lips curled upward as he caressed the arms of his mother wrapped around his chest and shrugged. "It's no fun to hear the same thing over and over. I expected better from a Progenitor."
"In the face of suffering," Maryam added, sparing Selene a jealous glance before hugging Noah from the front, "even the greatest beings will weep like mortals. I can tell you that much. I've seen all kinds of immortal souls beg worse than any mortal ever could."
"Oh really? But I wonder," Noah tilted his head slightly, "would I be the same, then?"
"Have you never faced suffering?" Maryam asked.
"Not the kind we're talking about. I've gone through my fair share of trials and setbacks. But this…"
He pointed at the twitching body of Luelle on the ground.
"Never in my three lives."
"Three?" Both Maryam and Selene snapped their heads toward him, brows furrowing in confusion.
Noah parted his lips, then closed them again, feeling a weight settle atop his head.
Lea.
That was the beginning, because soon enough all his wives, tired of watching the two mothers monopolize their husband, joined them.
"Why don't you stay in your duty as a mother for once and make room for us?" Dominique clicked her tongue, pushing Selene aside with a sway of her hips.
Selene willingly let herself be pushed away, a giggle escaping her lips.
"I understand how much you miss him," Shadeva whispered gently beside Maryam, "but can I have him now? I think you've hugged your son more than enough. Any more, and I'd start to believe something else."
"Hahahah," Red cackled, wrapping her right arm around Maryam's shoulders. "But maybe that is exactly the case, right, mother-in-law? Do you wish to be more—!"
"Have some decency!" Sophie snapped, shoving Red away and making her stumble into Apollonia, who glared at her. Red smiled sheepishly.
"I am sorry, Mother Maryam, for such a display." Sophie said, taking her most innocent tone. "I am Sophie Castria Vaelgrim, the First Wife—!"
"And I am his first lover!" Emmie chirped, cutting Sophie mid-sentence, causing the woman to glare daggers at her.
Emmie continued without care. "Oh! Mother Maryam, I went to visit your grave back in Morocco many times! It's so nice to see you now! Like, really nice! How have you been? I wanted to meet you for so long!"
She laughed like the perfect wife, hugging Maryam as if they had known each other since they were toddlers.
In one frightening instant, the space became a throng of talk and laughter, but also of curses, small playful punches to the gut, and slaps to the back of the head.
All the wives gathered around Noah, talking among themselves and with him.
Noah noticed their now freer selves after the transformation of their bloodline.
They had died back then, their existence empty of anything, leaving them with a void so terrible they wondered how they would ever fill it.
But with the surge of this new bloodline, Ataraxia, it was as if they had been reborn. Reborn into a higher tier of existence.
At that instant, something seemed to slap Noah's consciousness mercilessly, and a kind of understanding — one that came only after experiencing various things in life — flooded his entire existence like a deluge sweeping the world.
'All beings need to be born twice,' he thought, eyes bright.
They needed to experience the death of their previous selves so they could rise again from their remains, like a phoenix from ashes, reborn into something better.
His wives had died. Now they were no longer the same beings, even though they were still the same beings.
He smiled, watching them scabble like children.
'At least, this is something that will never change,' he thought fondly.
Looking at them, Noah could see on each of them a tattoo. All of them, like Noah, had their tattoos etched on their backs.
Each one was unique in its own way, describing their awakened Aspect as well as their Gift.
Yes, his wives had now awakened their powers. And all that remained was their own Power Progression and their distinction as Paragons.
And for that, Noah needed the Dominion of his mother, Maryam. And he needed to make Providence the Will of his Domain.
Yet before all of that…
Noah turned his head and looked at the King, the Queen of Hearts, Tiamat, and all the others waiting for him.
"I guess we can start the process now, my friends?" he said, making the girls halt their endless chatter.
Maryam was laughing with tears in her eyes at Apollonia and Yuki, but also at the shameless Dominique trying to corrupt the shy Virgo.
"Oh," Tiamat said with mock surprise, "I thought you forgot about us."
"I would never dare forget the one wishing to bear my children."
"For the sake of strong offspring," Tiamat clarified. "Nothing else. Nothing more."
Noah chuckled, shrugged, then walked toward them to begin the binding process.
He lifted his leg to step over Luelle's body on the ground, only to feel his leg grabbed.
The Prince craned his head, sparing Luelle a glance.
The Progenitor immediately let go in fear, yet still forced the words out of her mouth.
"K-Kill me," Luelle begged. "Kill me. Just kill me. You have obtained your vengeance. Kill me now."
Noah looked deeply at her, then shook his head with a smile.
"No."
He answered and continued on his way, leaving behind a shattered Luelle as he arrived before Tiamat and the others.
Clapping his hands, he blessed them with a smile so pure, so gentle, it sent a shiver down their spines.
"Who wants to be first?"
Behind him, his wives stifled laughter, inwardly grateful that they were Noah's wives and not his opponents.
Because oh…
Woe to those who crossed his path as enemies.
For they would endure such an ordeal that even stones would weep for them.
