Zombie Bodyguard

Chapter 1181: Emptiness After Departure

Everyone enjoyed the farewell meal, and no one mentioned Xiao Manxuan's impending departure.

After the meal, Lin Tian went back to his bedroom by himself; he couldn't be the third wheel for the mother and daughters who would soon part ways, as they surely had some heartfelt words to share.

Back in his bedroom, Lin Tian continued his cultivation as usual, not letting his advancement to a Third-level Yellow-eyed Zombie make him complacent. He was fully aware that the strength of a Third-level Yellow-eyed Zombie was not enough for the journey ahead, as he might encounter stronger opponents while searching for the four major zombie bloodlines and the Shennong Ding.

The next day, when he got up, it was already past nine. Lin Tian found it strange that the morning seemed unusually quiet. Normally, someone would have knocked on his door a long ago, especially the energetic Xiao Manxuan, who never missed waking people up before eight.

The Second Miss? Lin Tian's heart skipped a beat, and he jumped off the bed, dashing out without bothering that he was only in his undershorts.

The Second Miss, do you also plan to leave without saying goodbye? Lin Tian wondered, as he headed straight to the first-floor living room, only to find it empty.

"Second Miss..."

Lin Tian called out several times, but his voice echoed through the empty villa with no response. He immediately activated his superhuman vision, scanning the entire villa with his gaze, yet there was no sign of Xiao Manxuan, nor of Mrs. Xiao or Miss.

They really left, Lin Tian felt a bit desolate at that moment. He walked out of the villa and leaped onto the rooftop, from where he could see the farthest distance outside.

"Second Miss..." Lin Tian shouted into the distance, his booming voice spreading far and wide, causing the air around to hum and vibrate.

Outside the Xiao Mansion, by the roadside, was parked a red sports car, and if Lin Tian were there, he would have been shocked to see Tang Ziqing sitting in the driver's seat.

An ancient-style heroine with a high and cold temperament, wearing a white dress yet driving a red sports car – surprisingly, the scene was harmonious. Next to the sports car stood the Xiao family's mother and daughters.

Suddenly, a voice came faintly from afar, calling clearly for "Second Miss", which all four women heard.

"It's Lin Tian!" Xiao Manxuan turned around immediately, looking towards the villa, with a hint of reluctance in her eyes, while Miss and Mrs. Xiao exchanged glances, recognizing the sorrow in the voice.

"Xuanxuan, let's go. Since you've chosen not to tell Lin Tian, don't hesitate now." Mrs. Xiao said.

Xiao Manxuan turned and got into the car, and Miss followed. Tang Ziqing didn't linger any longer, stepping on the gas and speeding away. As the car left, two lines of silent tears streamed down Xiao Manxuan's face.

Mrs. Xiao sighed lightly, getting into another car to return to the Xiao Mansion. She hadn't even reached the villa when she saw from a distance someone standing on the railing of the rooftop, looking as if they might fall off at any moment.

She recognized the person as Lin Tian, assuming he wanted to jump, and was so startled she almost shouted but quickly covered her mouth, afraid that a sudden noise might scare Lin Tian into falling.

Mrs. Xiao knew of Lin Tian's prowess, but in her mind, no matter how capable someone is, falling from several floors would still be deadly.

She quietly rushed up to the rooftop, sneaked up behind Lin Tian, and suddenly reached out to pull him back.

Lin Tian was gazing into the distance, pondering how the Second Miss left so swiftly and resolutely, wondering if he should give her a lesson when she returned.

Who knew, with a pull, he fell backward, landing in a soft embrace, surrounded by a pleasant fragrance.

Recognizing the scent, Lin Tian instantly realized the woman behind him was Mrs. Xiao, though he wondered why she would suddenly pull him like that.

"Ah..." Mrs. Xiao shrieked, watching as she was about to get knocked over by Lin Tian, falling from the over one-meter-high railing. With Lin Tian's weight, it was possible to break a couple of ribs.

Of course, Lin Tian wouldn't let that happen; otherwise, Miss wouldn't let him off easily. He reached behind and, just like picking up a little white rabbit, lifted Mrs. Xiao up.

With a "thud", Lin Tian landed hard on the floor, with Mrs. Xiao falling on top of him, making him a human cushion.

"Lin Tian, are you alright?" Mrs. Xiao quickly asked.

"I'm fine now, but if Mrs. Xiao doesn't get up soon, I might not be." Lin Tian replied helplessly, thinking that an ordinary person might have had their ribs broken by now.

Mrs. Xiao then realized she was still atop Lin Tian and blushed, quickly standing up.

Lin Tian also stood up, curiously asking, "Mrs. Xiao, why did you pull me just now? You almost got yourself hurt."

Mrs. Xiao adjusted her clothes, a bit embarrassed, and said, "I... I thought you were jumping off."

"With someone as cheerful as me, who loves life so much, and is this handsome, how could I possibly jump off?" Lin Tian said with narcissism.

Mrs. Xiao smiled gently and said, "Now it seems indeed you wouldn't."

"Has the Second Miss already left?" Lin Tian asked.

Mrs. Xiao nodded, with a bit of sorrow in her eyes, clearly worried about her daughter's journey.

"Did Miss go with her?" Lin Tian asked again.

"Manxue just accompanied Xuanxuan for the trip, she will return soon." Mrs. Xiao said.

"In this huge villa, it's just the two of us now." Lin Tian sighed.

Mrs. Xiao's expression grew a bit unnatural. Without noticing, Lin Tian continued, "Mrs. Xiao, in a few days I will be leaving the Xiao Family for a while, and I won't be back for some time."

"You're leaving too? Where to?" Mrs. Xiao frowned.

Lin Tian shook his head, not elaborating, "Just helping a friend."

Mrs. Xiao nodded without probing further, merely saying, "Be careful when you're away, Xiao Tian. You have a way of rubbing people the wrong way."

These words sounded familiar to Lin Tian, and he suddenly remembered that Miss and the Second Miss had also warned him about this. The mother and daughters truly had a special connection.

After bidding farewell to Mrs. Xiao, Lin Tian returned to his bedroom and made a phone call, and before he could speak, the voice on the other end chimed in.

"Mr. Lin, the paperwork will be ready this afternoon, and I will have my son bring it to the Xiao Family." It was Qi Dapeng's voice.

"No need to bring it to the Xiao Family; have Mr. Qi deliver it to the Night Rose Bar, to someone named Rossi." Lin Tian instructed.

"Rossi? The foreigner?" Qi Dapeng asked, recalling how Rossi had once broken a few of his ribs with one move, leaving a deep impression on him.

"That's him. Do not mention my trip abroad to anyone else, including the Xiao family." Lin Tian said.

"Understood." Qi Dapeng agreed.

After hanging up the call with Qi Dapeng, Lin Tian dialed Rossi's number.

"Brother Tian, are you ready to set off?" Rossi asked.

"Departing tomorrow. In the afternoon, someone will deliver the documents and tickets to you." Lin Tian said flatly.
