Zombie Bodyguard

Chapter 1188: Vampire Hunter (Part 1)

Just now, it was because she was so angry that she fainted, and now that she regained consciousness, Xiao Manxue realized something was amiss. With a light step, she silently darted out.

She was so fast that people on the street didn't even have time to notice; Xiao Manxue was no longer in the same spot. She didn't chase into the nightclub but instead bypassed it and arrived at the back door.

When she reached the back door, she happened to see two shadows quickly flicker into the distance, disappearing from view in a few breaths.

"Damn it, that bastard got away again!" Xiao Manxue stomped her foot angrily, feeling frustrated, but soon she calmed down. A question lingered in her mind again: Did Lin Tian really come to England to help Rossi find family?

Those two distant figures were, of course, Lin Tian and Rossi. At this time, they were already a dozen streets away, having shaken off Miss's pursuit.

"Brother Tian, you always think things through so well. Miss reacts quickly, we almost got caught by her again." Rossi sighed with relief and said.

Imagining Miss stomping her foot in anger, Lin Tian shook his head with a smile: "Miss is no ordinary woman; this little trick only buys a few minutes, but that's enough for us to escape her tracking. Which direction do we go now?"

"This way." Rossi pointed in a direction.

Lin Tian and Rossi sped up again, heading towards the abandoned cathedral. They chose a relatively secluded route, so they used their fastest speed without worry.

Of course, only Rossi was going all out, while Lin Tian held back a bit, otherwise Rossi couldn't keep up. As they progressed, there were fewer and fewer people around, as seen from the declining vibrancy of the streets.

When talking about super cities like Wudu and Capital City, people often think of towering skyscrapers, bustling squares, and well-organized districts.

However, behind the hustle and glamour of even the most prosperous metropolises, there are forgotten corners, such as slums, which exist even in the world's most bustling cities.

The place before Lin Tian was such a place. He had just crossed from a bustling street, only to feel as though he had entered another world.

However, though a bit backward, the streets were orderly, just with fewer people, lower and more rundown buildings, making it seem less like part of a big city and more like an independent small town.

"Rossi, I thought vampires were all like those in television: graceful and living in ancient castles and manors, sipping the finest wines and exuding the most ancient aristocratic air." Lin Tian shook his head slightly, lamenting.

Rossi's eyes showed a hint of desolation as he spoke: "The Blood Clan has many similarities to humans: there are classes, wealth disparities, and an even stricter hierarchy than humans. The high-level Blood Clan live a noble life, while the low-level Blood Clan have it harder than ordinary humans."

"That's unexpected, but aren't the Blood Clan at least more powerful than humans? Why are they living so poorly?" Lin Tian asked, puzzled.

"Actually, low-level Blood Clan are similar to low-level zombies; they cannot directly contact sunlight and can only live in darkness and night. It's a special reason that allows me to live in sunlight."

"Moreover, Blood Clan are not necessarily more powerful than humans. We feed on human blood, and the Blood Clan also face human hunting. So, low-level Blood Clan can hardly live a wealthy life, sometimes struggling to survive." Rossi spoke calmly.

Lin Tian frowned slightly, saying, "You mean the Blood Clan are hunted by humans? Like how in movies and TV, the church hunts you?"

Since ancient times, vampires have been seen as demons, and enemies of the church. Of course, these are legends, as ordinary people have never truly seen them. Even if they have, they can't reveal it for some reason, or if they do, it's just considered a story.

Rossi shook his head and said, "It's not the church but humans with special abilities, similar to Huaxia's Ancient Martial Artists. They possess strength beyond normal people and have the ability to hunt vampires. They call themselves Guardians, and some people call them Vampire Hunters."

"Guardians? Vampire Hunters?" Lin Tian exclaimed, surprised: "I never thought there would be such people in the West. I guess their mission is similar to Huaxia's Demon Exorcists, with the principle of slaying demons and exorcising evil."

Rossi nodded and said, "Yes, human wisdom is infinite. Not only do they possess strength beyond ordinary people, but they've also created special weapons and methods to counter Blood Clan over years of fighting. Guardians keep progressing, while vampires remain unchanged, putting the Blood Clan at a disadvantage much of the time."

"I see, low-level Blood Clan can't see sunlight—that's already a huge disadvantage, let alone that Guardians have such mighty strength," Lin Tian said.

"Let's go, the abandoned cathedral is at the center of this area," Lin Tian added, with his night vision, he could see the cathedral from afar upon entering this area.

The cathedral's high spire rose above the surrounding buildings. During the day, it could be seen from far away, and even at night, it didn't impede Lin Tian's vision.

Coming to the cathedral's exterior, its ruin was beyond Lin Tian's expectations. All the window glass was shattered, the walls were weathered, and even the exterior walls were covered in graffiti. Through the gaps, one could see that the cathedral yard was overgrown with weeds.

Such a once-holy place, now in such ruin, and vampires still had to stay in such a place—one could only imagine how pitiful these low-level vampires must be.

"Rossi, wait a moment." Lin Tian held back Rossi, who was about to rush in, frowning.

It was too quiet here, eerily so. Lin Tian activated his super vision to encompass the entire cathedral area.

"The cathedral is empty?" Lin Tian asked with doubt, as he didn't see any vampires, or even a mouse.

"There's a large basement here, covering nearly half the cathedral's area. The Blood Clan usually hide in the basement, and if they're not out and about, they're often in slumber." Rossi, though unsure how Lin Tian could tell it was empty, still pointed this out.

Lin Tian glanced underground with his vision, indeed finding a massive basement comparable to an underground parking lot. However, he still saw no vampires.

Rossi couldn't see the basement, and Lin Tian couldn't very well say he had x-ray vision, so he said, "Let's go in."

Without using the main entrance, Lin Tian and Rossi directly climbed the wall, entering the cathedral. Inside, there was no light, making it even darker, but for Lin Tian and Rossi, darkness was no issue, as zombies and vampires were naturally nocturnal creatures.
