Zombie Bodyguard

Chapter 1312: Identity Exposed

"Hell Week? Do you think this is a special forces training camp?" Lin Tian was quite puzzled, wondering about the point of all this. Was it merely for the amusement of the elders and princes?

"Such hatred and strife are inherently indescribable and indefinable. The reason the Blood Clan Alliance hasn't outlawed internal conflicts among the Blood Clan is because they know repression followed by an outbreak would cause irreparable damage. Moreover, such battles undeniably make the Blood Clan stronger." Luo Lin spoke calmly, as if she understood everything all along.

Lin Tian naturally understood this principle: competition drives progress, while complacency leads to regression or even extinction. The reason those few low-level Blood Clan members could fight so well at the Fanyin Temple was precisely because they were members of the Sinmore Clan, having undergone such life and death trials for a long time.

"Alright then, where do we camp tonight?" Lin Tian was indifferent to the so-called Hell Week.

"Low-level Blood Clan can't operate under the sun during the day, so we must find dense, sun-blocked forests or caves." Luo Lin explained.

Low-level Blood Clan exposed to direct sunlight would experience irreversible damage, with severe cases turning to ashes. This is why Sinmore and Charlotte were desperate to find a potion to solve this problem.

If the Blood Clan's vulnerability to sunlight could be resolved, it would mean a collective evolution, and many of the Guardian's measures against the Blood Clan would become ineffective. Such an impact would be historical, and a return to the Thirteen Blood Hosts' glory days wouldn't be impossible.

Reya took a headcount, and there were only about a hundred people left; more than half were dead from earlier. Of course, the Jimi Chi Clan didn't fare well either, having suffered heavy losses from Lin Tian's strike.

All of the double-decker buses had been destroyed; only the SUVs were still operational. Luo Lin had no choice but to lead the others on foot. However, as the speed of the Blood Clan was fast, it didn't impede the progress of the group.

The forest was mostly soft soil, with no caves but quite a few tree holes, although they couldn't accommodate so many low-level Blood Clan members.

In the end, Luo Lin chose a densely wooded hillside in the forest, cleared a large area, and built several temporary shelters, much like constructing houses. Such physical labor was a breeze for the Blood Clan.

By dawn, these temporary structures were finally completed. In fact, the Blood Clan could also walk in the forest during the day, as long as they avoided direct sunlight.

When the first morning light shone through the gaps in the woods, the Blood Clan had already hidden inside the temporary shelters. However, before dawn, most of the Blood Clan had already fallen asleep, perhaps due to their nocturnal habits or exhaustion from the previous night.

Only Luo Lin was still awake, and apart from her, there were Lin Tian and Rossi—both not considered Blood Clan members. Luo Lin stood on a big tree, and Lin Tian climbed up to it in a few moves.

"Why aren't you sleeping?" Luo Lin turned back and asked.

"I can't sleep during the day." Lin Tian laughed.

Luo Lin studied him seriously and asked suspiciously, "Lin Tian, sometimes I really doubt whether you are a member of the Blood Clan. Your habits are nothing like those of the Blood Clan."

"Oh? Is it just because I don't sleep during the day?" Lin Tian probed.

"It's not just that." Luo Lin shook her head, thought for a moment, and said, "Most Blood Clan members are active at night and rest during the day, but you do the opposite, like humans. Also, while the Blood Clan generally prefers the night and dislikes sunlight, you're quite the opposite."

Lin Tian chuckled and said, "How do you know I don't dislike sunlight?"

Luo Lin looked deeply into Lin Tian's eyes and said, "Your room's curtains are often open. Only those who like the light have such habits, but the Blood Clan often keep their curtains closed because we don't like sunlight coming in during the morning and evening, as it makes us uncomfortable."

Lin Tian was genuinely surprised; Luo Lin's insight was terrifying, having noticed such subtle details. However, Lin Tian pretended to be interested and gestured for her to continue.

"And the biggest thing is, I've never seen you drink blood." Luo Lin said.

"If I'm not a member of the Blood Clan, what do you think I am?" Lin Tian didn't refute, asking blandly.

"I thought you'd refute me. Your calmness suggests two possibilities: either you truly are a member of the Blood Clan, or you're fearless, not even afraid of Elder Asina." Luo Lin said seriously, her gaze complex and conflicted as she looked at Lin Tian.

Lin Tian sighed slightly in his heart. From the moment he fought off the Jimi Chi Clan, he knew he couldn't hide his identity from Luo Lin. Despite her being unable to guess the specifics, she had reasons to suspect.

The purple flames were too dazzling and conspicuous, and with Luo Lin's insight, she would definitely suspect something.

"Actually, I'm not really a member of the Blood Clan, as you surely guessed. I have other purposes in coming to Sinmore." Lin Tian didn't hesitate and revealed the truth. At this stage, continuing to hide would be laughable.

Luo Lin's eyes flickered with a complex expression again. She lowered her head and softly asked, "Are you going to kill me to keep me quiet next?" She was well aware that if Lin Tian wanted to silence her, she had no chance of survival.

Lin Tian remained expressionless, reaching out to stroke her forehead, then her cheek, finally resting his hand on her neck.

Luo Lin lifted her head, closed her eyes, without a cry or struggle, knowing that it was futile, and her cries would only lead to the deaths of other Blood Clan members. Thus, she chose to die quietly.

With Lin Tian's current strength and their proximity, killing Luo Lin was as easy as pie. A little strength in his hands could directly snap Luo Lin's head off.

He suddenly smiled and withdrew his hand. Luo Lin opened her eyes, filled with astonishment and surprise, along with doubt.

"Why didn't you kill me to keep me quiet? Aren't you afraid I'll report your affairs to Elder Asina?" Luo Lin frowned slightly, her face full of doubt and confusion.

Lin Tian raised an eyebrow and laughed, "Who said I was going to kill you? I just couldn't help but touch your skin, which is indeed so smooth and tender. What's wrong? Have an issue? Well, then, I'll let you touch me back, and we can call it even."

"But..." Luo Lin was suddenly at a loss for words. Lin Tian's words left her bewildered, unable to comprehend what he wanted to do now.

"But what? Don't forget, you still owe me a night in bed. How could I possibly let you just die like that?" Lin Tian chuckled softly.

Luo Lin wasn't pleased at all; instead, her expression changed, and she exclaimed, "You... you want to kill all the Blood Clan here?" She knew Lin Tian had that kind of power.

"I... I'm willing... if you let them go." Luo Lin stammered slightly.

"Willing to what? Spend the night? Here in the forest, on this tree?" Lin Tian suddenly pressed close to her, smiling wickedly.
