Zombie Bodyguard

Chapter 1379: Healing Sacred "Medicine

Langde struggled, but he couldn't stand up. He turned his head to look at Ai Wei, at Ai Wei's bat wings, and regret flashed in his eyes. It was not regret for the village massacre he caused, but regret for not recognizing Ai Wei's true strength.

Ai Wei's sudden transformation was one of the key reasons for his defeat. Lin Tian's covert intervention, which he was unaware of, even if he knew he couldn't do anything about Lin Tian.

And the terror of the Soul-devouring Blade, which exceeded expectations, because he did not know that the Soul-devouring Blade had been enhanced by the power of a curse.

In the end, the change in the Soul-devouring Blade was caused by Lin Tian, if not for the destruction on the ancient battlefield, Charlotte wouldn't have sought the Eye of the Creator for repairs, and the Soul-devouring Blade wouldn't possess the power of a curse.

"Why, why are you a junior elder, yet there's no reputation of yours within the Blood Clan Alliance?" Langde was puzzled, even unwilling.

With Ai Wei's strength level, she should be a pivotal figure within the Blood Clan Alliance. In theory, her Prince from the Jimi Chi Clan would personally confer honors, grant titles, arrange important duties, and announce within the Blood Clan Alliance. This is a grand event, a mark of status and glory, and cannot be treated lightly.

But within the Blood Clan Alliance, there was no information about Ai Wei's promotion. He didn't know that Ai Wei had only recently advanced and had no intention of seeking those statuses and honors because she was loyal only to Charlotte.

"Are you unwilling?" Ai Wei said coldly.

Langde did not answer, but his heart was indeed unwilling. Clearly stronger in strength than Ai Wei, yet he lost because he didn't know the opponent's true strength. Now he deeply understands an ancient saying from the Eastern nation of Huaxia, "Know yourself and know your enemy, and you will not be defeated in a hundred battles." Not knowing your enemy leads to defeat.

"Langde, you're unwilling, have you ever thought about the villagers' unwillingness when they struggled to their death? You brought this upon yourself. If heaven cannot punish you, then today I will act on behalf of heaven, to avenge those villagers and my parents!" Ai Wei said coldly, the hatred in her eyes boiling to the extreme as she raised the Soul-devouring Blade in her hands.

"You can't kill me, I'm an elder, the Blood Clan Alliance will punish you!" Langde shouted in fear, looking at the sharp Soul-devouring Blade, he genuinely felt terror.

In that instant, a thought flashed in his mind, maybe, back then those villagers felt the same fear and helplessness, but it's all too late.

Without any pause, Ai Wei inserted the Soul-devouring Blade into Langde's heart without hesitation.

"Huh..."

Langde reflexively arched his body, a hoarse sound emanating from deep within his throat, his eyes began to scatter, and his mouth opened and closed, struggling to make his final sound, "I'm unwilling..."

A long drawn-out "ah," then the body slackened instantly, the sound ceased abruptly, no longer any breath, Langde was completely dead.

But death didn't mean the end; the Soul-devouring Blade that pierced the heart emitted a black aura, which surged into Langde's heart, organs, limbs, and bones. Soon his body began to shrink, eventually turning into a dried corpse.

Ai Wei applied force to the blade, causing Langde's body to shatter instantly like weathered rocks, turning into powder and particles, leaving not even a corpse.

Langde was dead, leaving no corpse, and Lin Tian and Charlotte stood quietly, not disturbing Ai Wei. Ai Wei slowly stood up, reverting to her human form, the Soul-devouring Blade restored to its original state. She slowly turned in one direction, then knelt down with a bang, bowing low for a long time.

If one could see her eyes, Lin Tian mused, this female Blood Clan must be silently shedding tears. Relief? Pain? Or confusion? At this moment of revenge concluded, her mood must be complex, and the direction she was bowing towards might be her distant homeland.

She didn't know what those villagers looked like, and even the images of her parents were blurred in her memory, but it was eternal solace in a corner of her heart.

"Ai Wei, you have finally avenged," Charlotte approached and helped her up.

Ai Wei quickly lowered her head, unsure if she was being respectful or unwilling to let others see her vulnerable tears. She respectfully presented the Soul-devouring Blade, returning it to Charlotte.

Charlotte received the blade, gently closed her eyes for a moment, then spoke, "The Soul-devouring Blade, an elder is just the beginning. In future, you'll taste the blood of princes."

Lin Tian understood what she meant, this Soul-devouring Blade will later pierce the chests of those princes, those high-ranking Blood Clan who orchestrated the clan's annihilation back then. Charlotte intends to use it to drink their blood.

"Thank you, Lord," Ai Wei bowed respectfully to Charlotte, saying gratefully. Without the empowerment of the Soul-devouring Blade, she couldn't have avenged. Charlotte smiled lightly, not minding.

After bowing to her lord, Ai Wei walked to Lin Tian, bending her knee to kneel, but Lin Tian anticipated it and countered by pulling her arm, preventing her from kneeling.

Ai Wei had to bow, expressing her gratitude, "Thank you, Lord Lin Tian, for fulfilling my vengeance. Without you capturing Langde, I wouldn't know when I could take my revenge. This grace I won't forget, Ai Wei is willing to be your maid, to serve you as repayment."

"The term 'maid' might be misunderstood, I think let's forget it," Lin Tian stated earnestly.

Zhang Lingyu almost laughed, remarking, "You're ruining the mood when she's being so serious."

Ai Wei listened, feeling a hint of embarrassment on her face, realizing that in modern society, the term "maid" has acquired other meanings.

Lin Tian didn't bother to deliberate on any ambiguities anymore, saying to Ai Wei, "Ai Wei, reveal your bat wings."

Ai Wei felt a bit puzzled but complied with a nod, moving her back to reveal the huge bat wings. The bat wings of a Blood Clan are not necessarily fierce but have a Gothic aesthetic, yet Ai Wei's bat wings seem truly fierce now.

Because the claws of her bat wings were torn off by Langde, together with the wing membrane nearby, leaving the flesh blurred, the wound too severe to heal, even still bleeding.

When the bat wings unfolded, Ai Wei's body and wings trembled slightly, yet she was trying hard to suppress the agony of the wound, not wanting to appear too fragile before Lin Tian. If it were a normal person, having an arm torn off, they would've passed out.

Lin Tian extended his hand, a Blood Pearl rising from his palm. He gently flicked it, and the Blood Pearl shot onto Ai Wei's bat wing wound. The zombie's blood made contact with the bloody wound, slowly penetrating.

Ai Wei felt a slight coolness at the wound, the tear-like pain surprisingly reduced a lot, this coolness traversed from the bat wings to the back, then to the entire body, the pain slowly faded, finally disappearing, even a sense of indescribable comfort emerged.
