Water Mage in the Flame Realm

Chapter 128: Taking Shape

At the center of Wildfire Territory stood the majestic Magic Laboratory.

These days, Barbara had been renovating the laboratory.

The main task was to remove the numerous Earth Fire Mage marks left by the old wizard Humboldt, then further enhance the laboratory's heating capabilities.

With the number of residents continuously increasing, Andrew handled the water supply, while Barbara took full charge of the heating issues.

As for why a Water Magic Lord's territory center would be a Fire Magic Laboratory?

Well...

It's like the "Water God Mark" at the center of Andrew's forehead now also contained a hint of the warm fire aura left by the "Warm Fire Order."

Between water and fire, there is mutual restraint and mutual generation.

Of course, at this stage, Andrew hasn't reached such an understanding, he just... needed a laboratory to provide heating for Wildfire Territory. He didn't think much about it.

Centered around the laboratory, eight spacious avenues connected to eight stone arches newly installed by Andrew and Ivan.

Thus, constructing a "cake-shaped" framework of Wildfire Territory. It effectively divided Wildfire Territory into eight parts, eight districts.

At this time, on both sides of the eight avenues, people were busily constructing their new homes with great enthusiasm.

The new buildings were mainly residential houses. Providing a place to live for those seeking refuge was the primary goal at the moment.

Besides residential houses, there were three special building complexes.

First, built on the foundation of the former Living People Cemetery, an expanded hospital.

Yes, a hospital.

The former Living People Cemetery was named so because lung burn syndrome is a chronic incurable disease.

Now, with the existence of Andrew as a healer, calling it a cemetery is no longer appropriate.

So Andrew personally decided to transform the cemetery hotel into a formal hospital.

The hospital is currently overseen by Zi. Over the past month, many patients from various parts of the Inner Sea Desert have been admitted to the hospital under Zi's arrangements.

Andrew's plan was to, in the future, open the hospital not only to patients from the Inner Sea Desert but to the entire Flame Realm!

"Although, strictly speaking, I'm the only doctor at this hospital, fortunately, the magic potion to treat lung burn has been simplified enough for ordinary people to brew." Andrew smiled gently.

Through "Water Spirit Sensing," he could see Aunt Sofia and Xiaobai, both in the hospital, learning the potion-making process.

The instructor was a young man named Robin who arrived at Wildfire Territory these days.

He grew up in a family with a medical background. An Ya discovered his talent through a population survey and recommended him to Andrew, after which Andrew personally taught him the simplified method of making the magic potion for lung burn syndrome.

"...If possible, can you also invite other members of your family?" Andrew asked Robin one day, "You know, lung burn is just one disease. In the future, I'd like this hospital to encompass more departments to treat more types of diseases for everyone."

Robin, a young man with a strong academic air, showed respectful and meticulous attitude towards Andrew, yet had his intellectual pride.

To Andrew's request, he nodded reservedly, saying: "Okay, Master Andrew, I will contact my family. But I have a question..."

"Hmm, go ahead." Andrew felt an involuntary respect, like a student facing a scholarly otherworldly expert.

"What exactly... is a department?" the scholar asked.

"Uh, this..."

Second, besides the hospital for lung burn patients, Andrew also entrusted An Ya to organize the establishment of a... Desolate Beast Hospital.

Because the annual Desolate Beast Sand Tide, which lasts for two weeks, had ended.

Many desolate beasts that had not yet come to Wildfire Territory for exorcism entered a dormant state, a kind of semi-hibernation.

This meant that the desolate beast problem in the Inner Sea Desert couldn't be completely solved in a day or two.

Future incoming desolate beasts would need to be admitted to this Desolate Beast Hospital for Andrew to exorcise.

"I'm your bodyguard; my primary responsibility is to ensure your safety, so—can't you not make me the head of this Desolate Beast Hospital?" This was Ivan's stance once the Desolate Beast Hospital was established.

In response, Andrew insisted, "You're already Wildfire Town's strongest hunter and the most knowledgeable about desolate beasts. Who else would be responsible if not you?"

"Let Alpha do it." Ivan grunted sulkily.

"Oh dear, Alpha has another assignment."

"What assignment? Continuing to keep an eye on Cook, Sally, and the newly captured Fleur and the other Magic Guild captives?" Ivan frowned, "Speaking of which, what exactly is your plan for those captives?"

Andrew smiled: "I have other arrangements for dealing with the captives. Alpha's task is not to continue watching over them."

This brings us to the third new construction, personally supervised by Andrew, besides the hospital and Desolate Beast Hospital.

Alpha personally participated in the construction.

Once completed, Alpha took direct charge of the... Wildfire Territory Firefighting Brigade!

"I... was transported to this Flame Realm in a great fire." This was Andrew's thought, "Although fire disasters are not included as one of the three major problems of the Inner Sea Desert, the idea that fire is sacred and cannot be extinguished is deeply rooted here."

In response, Andrew decided to set up a fire brigade responsible for extinguishing fires. Whether or not it could be expanded in the future, at least it needed to be established in Wildfire Territory, where he had the final say!

Not only because fires could still easily occur in the desert environment (even without various experimental accidents in the Magic Laboratory).

But also because Andrew wanted to express and convey a concept that was all too common in the world before he crossed over, through the establishment of the first fire brigade in the Flame Realm—

When faced with a fire, you must put it out!

It's simply natural!!

As for why Alpha was chosen as the chief, it's simple: Alpha once stayed at the Living People Cemetery, and his injuries were due to rushing into a house during a fire to save people!

"Uncle Alpha, you... truly have the passionate heart of a fire chief!"

When Andrew handed the task over to Alpha, he solemnly and respectfully said to him.

This was sincerely meant. Before crossing, Andrew always admired the profession of firefighters.

Alpha was quite enthusiastic and excited about this new assignment.

However, he had a question similar to Robin's: why is it called a "fire brigade" instead of a "fire extinguishing team"?

"Firefighting"—where did this new term come from??

—In short, the hospital, the Beast Hospital, and the Firefighting Brigade are the three most important new constructions in this expansion project, besides a large number of residential houses.

After the expansion of Wildfire Territory, the Water Tower Tree 'Shire,' once located outside of Wildfire Town, was naturally incorporated into the territory.

Now Shire, having merged with the seed of an ancient Water Tower Tree, had grown three to five times taller in a very short time, exceeding the height of the previous tallest structure in Wildfire Territory, the central Magic Laboratory.

From a distance, Shire's robust, straight body seemed to gradually grow into a giant pillar, supporting a distinct sky for Wildfire Territory...

At this time, Ivan stood by Andrew's side, looking at the new atmosphere of the entire Wildfire Territory, revealing a faint smile on his hard, cold face: "It's beautiful, isn't it?"

"Yes." Andrew also smiled, "It truly is... beautiful."

The beauty lay not only in the newly erected buildings but also in the heartfelt smiles on the faces of the people working hard.

This was just the change on the ground.
